I never thought of that. Fennekin and Braixen do have entries that sound like they were written by children. :D (Fennekin would burn everything with 1000+ degree heat coming out of it's ears and Braixen's tail must be made like the side of a matchbox).

The best one: Cubone wears the skull of its mother. It's really easy to disprove.

I've bred Cubone... They all still have their skulls. MYTH BUSTED!

But what if you breed it with a Ditto?

The skull is part of Ditto. Removing it would cause a lot of damage [possibly death] it also wouldn't retain it's shape when removed.

Mashing the HOME key also fixed the issue ;) fyi.

What?! No "We've added [thing] to apologise for not listening to QA"?

Typical Nintendo shpiel, right?

TBF, it's really rare that a company does it.

Any and all bugs found in a released title WERE caught by QA. It's the pregrammers/devs/management/publisher who decided to leave it in.

It always annoys me when people accuse QA of not doing their job when a massive bug is found.

I dunno, this bug seems to only affect a low percentage of carts AFAIK. I've saved in Lumoise plenty of times and not been hit by this. It's possible the QA team didn't get hit with it either.

With the amount of builds they go through, I'm guessing they probably did.

It's also strange than only some people got it. There's probably more to it than "don't save here".

You have a point, but you also have a point against you're own argument - builds.

Maybe they did find it and, as far as they knew, they patched it out. I agree it's got to be more than just saving there that triggers it, but if that's true then that makes it even harder to pin down, doesn't it? Mistakes happen and things can go wrong. If they were truly under the impression they'd patched it out then I see no problem, as frustrating as it must have been to those affected. The page is blocked here, being games and all, so I can't see if they've made any official announcement about it.

I gave up trying to breed a shiny... I took >100 eggs to get an adamant Chespin. [i actually wanted jolly.]

And super training is BS if you're left handed.

Yeah, I've never bred a shiny tbh, even with the shining charm. Let me just finish punishing the champion and I'll letcha have your 'mon ;)

As of last night, I'm the new champion. Woohoo!

Also, I'm giving no spoilers, but dear god, this game had some feels at times :(

But I got into the posh boutique. That's all that matters.

The one in glitch city?

I did that last night. :p [still at 4 badges]

I've gone back to my gen1 team style.

3 fighting 'mons and 3 support mons. [Current gen starters, Bibarel, Fletchling Fletchinder and maybe another Bibarel or a Combee for honey.]

I'm saved just inside the 7th gym, with my OP team of GenVI starters, Bibarel, Talonflame and a random 'mon I'm levelling to evolve.

Well done! Soon be facing the might of the League then. What level is your team so far?

I caught about 50 odd Dittos last night, trying to finds ones with perfect IVs in each stat. Mission successful. Thankfully they have reintroduced the Pokéradar so they are easier to come across. Next thing is to continue working on a competitive battle team, I have a few ideas and I've already fully EV trained one up with nice IVs, beneficial nature, good ability and an handy egg move. Just need to get the final stat modifying berry to add to my collection. Let the games begin! :)

55-ish for the starters, 45 odd for the slaves, about 25 for my leveling mon.

Ah alright, well in that case you might wanna hold off from taking on the League for a while then, at least until they've all levelled up a bit. I love how Butterfree single handedly (wingedly?) can pwn the League but then it is lvl 91 now, he did find it a little bit harder the first time through. Its a fab little Butterfree but it's beginning to outlive its usefulness - I'm thinking of replacing it with a Vivilion and see if that can exist in a competitive environment (I think maybe not, well not without support, but it'll be fun trying anyway). It'll basically be running the same set as Butterfree as it also has 'compound eyes' which improves the accuracy of Sleep Powder to 105% but more than that it has access to a 100% accurate Hurricane with STAB boost - Quiver Dance and Bug Buzz will take the other two slots. It also has a slightly increased base speed stat over Butterfree, poor Butterfrees days are numbered (well they were several genetations ago tbh) but it's been a fun and nostalgic journey. LOL

I've still got 2 gyms, a load of routes, story stuff?, and Victory Road to do before the E4.

I'm not changing my team, except to switch out who I'm evolving. I'll be ready when I get there.

My starters are also fully ev'd and amie'd.

Butterfree is the only 'fully loved up' 'mon I've got - amie doesn't appear to make any difference on a competitive level as far as I can tell, I think is must be just an in-game thing as it doesn't seem to be active during PvP battles (thank goodness).

BOOOOOO!

Amie bonuses would have completely changed the metagame.

Posted

I think it would have totally wrecked the metagame if it did. Pokémon is random enough as it is without introducing all these extra chaotic amie elements to throw it all over the place, it would have diminished the skill element and put too much of a reliance on luck 'n love. Pheh! Fairy typing has been a big enough change to the metagame as it is, I'm still having trouble getting my head around it at times.
