Some guy battled me last night and it was quite a good match. Ended up lots of one shots as we countered types and he squished my poor unevolved Eevee with a mega Gengar (which then got one shotted by my Espeon...). Ended with some water type turtle thing versus my Vaporeon and a slow and painful battle to the death with ineffective moves. He thought he had it wrapped up considering none of my team is trained, ended up a win! :D

But I picked up Glaceon last night and now I just need Leafeon for the full set!

Well, I've gone and bought Y. After much internal debate over whether to buy a 3DS or Vita over xmas, I bought the Vita, which I now realise was a mistake. So today I traded in my Vita towards a used (great condition) 3DS XL and Pokemon Y.

Enjoying it so far but my $deity, aside from the graphics this is nearly identical to Red/Blue I played 15 years ago! I'm guessing Pokemon hasn't evolved much? [pun almost intended]

Heh Pokémon kinda killed my Vita usage off too. Post your friend code and add mine in my sig! :D

And yeah, the game suffers from winning formula syndrome in that it works so Nintendo don't change it too much each iteration. The 3D update is nice though.

Well I got to the end of my using only using given or trade Pokemon.

My final team was: -

Delphox - Starting pokemon

Venusar - Given by Professor Sycamore

Aurorus - Given as a fossil

Lucario - Given after Mega stone explianed

Lapras - Given by guy out side of Shalour City on route 12

Sylveon - Traded as Eevee by woman in a hotel second floor in Cyllage city (needed to talk to her over the span of a few days)

Not the best all around team but it worked, just needed to be careful of fighting types.

3D as in 3D models, or 3D as in true 3D? This is the first Pokemon I've played since Red/Blue lol so not sure if it's been 2D up til now. As for the latter, are there any true 3D effects in this game? Doesn't seem to make a difference to me...

3D as in 3D models.

It's been 2D all this time.

And the 3D effects are for battles only... but it kills the frame rate.

And your eyes.. 3D mode is just.. Yucky. Doesn't feel nice.

I'm yet to find a game that I like the 3D mode in!

If it wasn't for the fact the 2DS is a big awkward wedge, I'd have saved some money and bought that. It was worth the extra cash to be able to fit the 3DS in my pocket!

At first I was like..

HOENN CONFIRMED :)

But then I was like..

And yet... I'm struggling to care.

Unfortunately, I have to agree. I owned Red and Yellow as a kid, back in't good ol' days.

Picked up FireRed when it came out for dat nostagia, so I'd skipped G/S/C and R/S

Skipped D/P/P, bought SoulSilver.

Bought Black, haven't finished it.

Bought Y.

I did actually play Sapphire at some point, but I don't quite recall when. Borrowed it from a friend, I think. I actually quite liked it - wasn't the best, but wasn't bad. But after playing a fair few different Pokémon games on and off it really is just always 'more of the same'. I do like the playstyle but they don't have too much replay value unless you Nuzlocke it or some other variation of self-enforced rules.

I know, I know. Don't change the recipe if people are buying the cakes. I get it. I just wish they had a little something for the older nostalgic gamer that wanted a bit more of a challenge.

Though I said: -

HOENN CONFIRMED :)

But in the video does not confirm anything but the name and the legendary. Plus it says "New Adventure" so could be in a whole new area or have more than one area?

but with a name like Omega ruby and alpha sapphire seems to remind me of the fallout 3 quote "I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely."

Given they remade one set of games already I think it is as good as confirmed. :p

Two sets. FireRed/LeafGreen and HeartGold/SoulSilver

(I know FR/LG weren't for the DS, but that's just because of what was available at the time)

Maybe be they could add another area, but that's just me hoping for more :(

There's usually a few tweaks made here-and-there. But I wouldn't get your hopes up.

Oh, who am I kidding? I'm going to end up buying this at some point anyway xD

I dunno, I don't really think it's worth their time anymore to do a third game that combos the other 2, given the financial losses they're having.

True, I was hoping for Z or some DLC which adds a whole new reigon with it's own Pokemon league and you need to trian another team up. But I most like going to pick up one of the "new" remakes.

I was hoping they'd release 1 complete game instead of 3 games with locked out content.
