Jesus! You'd need a cricket bat to kill one of those things as I don't think a typical SWATTER would do it...

I wouldn't be seen anywhere near them - put it that way!

It just makes me want a replacement for Trident.

Your standard £5 electrical bug zapper will take care of any pests! (which looks like a tennis racket)

Remember slowly putting it close to a LARGE spider, and watching the electricity spark through into it. All i remember is, the spider did a little YMCA then died.

You're a cruel son of a gun but your description was very funny.

What a nasty little insect you are. A spider (at least a UK one) can't even hurt you, but it does kill all manner of disease-carrying flies. You seem to take pleasure in killing things for fun. Very nice

Early sign's of a serial killer ;)

I'm not even joking, it threw some of it's legs into the air for a good few seconds, changing direction. After that, it crumbled.

They are big, with too many legs, and run fast. ME NO LIKE!

Dexter v2 :p

Also, if it's any consolation, i did after try seeing how badly it zaps, so i tested it on my right index finger. Fair to say, it could torture the hell out of a human being lol

^ Pretty much what I was going to say.

^Also, this.

I/We joke about Sunny "sorting people out"... It's starting to seem more and more likely.

I swear... One of these days I'm going to see your name in the paper because you've gone on a rampage.

Blame rockstar. lol

Back to topic:

Has anyone ever been chased by these?

Some people have irrational fears of insects. I had a friend who once startled me by jumping up out of his seat, grabbing a newspaper and then hitting a small spider (which had appeared from under the sofa) before jumping up and down on the newspaper. He then got a hoover and from a safe distance slid the nozzle under the paper so he could hoover the thing up without having to set eyes on it. He was visibly sweating and shaking, my flabber was truly ghasted.

Personally I can't stand earwigs. I killed one this morning when it emerged from the pile of walnuts I collected in the garden yesterday. A spider I would have picked up and put outside but earwigs - I just don't want them around.

I didn't like earwigs, until I read about them and found out that the females are very maternal, and will look out for their kids. Think they're kinda sweet now.

I'm not especially fussed by spiders but my gf can't stand them. Fortunately we have an extremely predatory cat who will catch and eat them on sight, so very few get seen in the flat nowadays.

My wife & daughter are scared of spiders. I use a large jam jar & a piece of card to evict the spiders. The jar goes over the spider, the card slides under the jar, the spider lifts its feet & then you can invert the jar with spider inside. A quick trip out the door & job is done.

False widow spiders aside, a fear of spiders is anathema to me but each to his own I suppose. BUT there is NO NEED to kill them. You can buy humane catchers or get someone else to do it.

Erm, do you mean:

get someone else to

A) By the humane catchers

or

B) Kill them for you?

:D

Either

Both

All three

JUST DON'T KILL SPIDERS

*edit

I mean either buy a humane catcher or get someone else to catch them

But.. your previous post could be interpreted as reading "don't [you personally] kill spiders, but get someone else to do it"? :p
