  1. Hi, If you've already purchased it, then it should be available to download from the 'Purchases' tab on the Mac App Store (like shown below).
  2. Interesting thread Theres 4 of us at the moment: Strategic ICT Manager (Full Time) - Takes overall department responsibility, paperwork, manages network, development, etc ICT Technician/Me (Full Time) - Develop and maintain the website and vle, email, manage the Mac network, assist managing the windows network, networking, supports drama and theatre dept with light and sound kit, help the other two techs when needed ICT Technician (Full Time) - Deals with the hardware support side of things mainly, does most of the out and about day to day stuff, projector bookings, hardware installs, etc Trainee ICT Technician (Part Time) - deals with most enquiries that come in to the office/helpdesk (and directs them where applicable), does the out and about day to day stuff, etc What we ultimately do each day depends on how busy we are really. We support around 1630 students, 160 staff, 600 computers, about 25-30 servers, 35 ipads amongst other bits and pieces.
  3. We use SurveyMonkey too (the paid version). However I feel that for what we're paying for it versus how much it's used, we'd be better off with LimeSurvey. Not that i'm getting anywhere on that front...
  4. Apologies, been a busy week or so and to be honest, I forgot about this thread! Anyway, it turns out my suspicions were sort of correct. I booted up the Exchange 2007 box on Monday and decommissioned it. Lo and behold, once I did that, the issue went away. Not quite sure what it was still 'hosting' to cause the slow down, but either way the issue is no longer there. Thanks for your help anyway sukh, greatly appreciated.
  5. Wow, that is very nice @SovietRussia! I don't suppose you'd consider sharing that? at least the script that makes up that page! Quite like the idea of presenting AD related info. On topic, our students get a very simple HTML page with a grid of quicklinks, whereas our staff get a slightly enhanced version of the same, but it's powered by Wordpress.
  6. Mail flow doesn't seem to be the issue - it seems to be the 'presenting' of email. New emails that arrive will show instantly in Outlook Web App, wheres those same emails can take anywhere between 15 to 30 mins to appear in Microsoft Outlook - hopefully that makes a bit more sense? I think I may have a theory - but could be barking up the wrong tree entirely. Despite all the staff now being located on the Exchange 2013 server, and accessing their emails through it - the problems didn't seem to rear their ugly head until we switched the Exchange 2007 server off on Monday (in preparation to look at decommissioning it). I'm thinking that somewhere along the line, for those users affected, Outlook may be trying to access emails via the Exchange 2007 box - but obviously can't with the box being off and is eventually falling back on the Exchange 2013 box.
  7. We've recently made the move from Exchange 2007 to Exchange 2013 and despite a few hiccups, everything seems to have gone across ok. However, we've recently started getting reports from staff that emails coming in to Microsoft Outlook is very slow, taking from 15 to 30 mins for new emails to come through. Although if they use Outlook Web App, they find the emails are there straight away. The Exchange 2013 box is a VM with 6 cores allocated to it and 16gb RAM. Does anyone have any ideas as to what would be causing Outlook to be syncing rather slowly?
  8. Jesus! You'd need a cricket bat to kill one of those things as I don't think a typical SWATTER would do it... I wouldn't be seen anywhere near them - put it that way!
  9. Hi Robbacop, The prices from Apple were taken from The Apple Store for Education. In the end we went with RM as they were only charging £7 per licence (£315 plus VAT).
  10. Staff here is first initial and surname, so Joe Blogs would be JBlogs - if there's a duplicate we'll use an initial from their middle name, so Joe David Blogs would be JDBlogs. Fairly similar for students, Year of Entry, followed by first initial of firstname, first initial of middlename and surname - eg 13JDBlogs
  11. We've just had this trying to get 45 copies of Mountain Lion. A quote direct from Apple Store for Education was £270, with Jigsaw24 quoting over £400. So we've gone back to Apple and queried if it's definitely not possible to enrol onto the store as the difference in quotes is quite substantial. They've agreed to look into it if we send them a purchase order to kick start the process. Maybe worth you giving it a try?
  12. Hi, have you tried this...
