[sims] Protecting attendance marks

New to SIMS!

 

This is probably something simple but here goes anyway. Is there a way to protect pre-entered marks from being overwritten by staff when taking their register?

From our experience, the only effective method is with a clue-bat and an attendance officer who goes mental when their marks are changed. Don't think there's a lockout ability though.

I'm pretty sure they are protected already.

I believe they are always editable, even when protected because if the student is present, you have to be able to mark them as such!

As default they are locked, but theres nothing stopping the staff clicking the padlock (can't remember what the exact terminology is) and over writing the marks. Which you would want them to do if a student is marked as absent but then arrives and you need to go in and change the mark to a late code.
