I've just heard Pearson e1 are pulling out of the MIS market. Can anybody confirm? Two of the schools I support use e1 primary and obviously it's going to be a big mission to change mid year.

Thanks

Terry

Not heard. Can't you ask your schools they should be first to know.

Pearson would have measures in place for continuity.

I can't imagine they are ditching the sector maybe just the UK market.

My schools have not been notified yet, as I understand it. This has come from a local school in North London that uses e1.

Our schools in tower hamlets were told earlier this week that Pearson Education Limited will be withdrawing their e1 product from September 2014.

Interested in what they are saying, and what the plan is, i.e. will they keep up support, what do they suggest in terms of changeover etc.

I guess PowerSchool is still gonna be around - it's pretty popular out my way.

Yeah I just meant they're ditching the UK not education MIS

I guess it wasn't doing well.

Or it could be a cunning ploy to make everyone shift to PowerSchool ;)

Anyhoo it's a great time to Aspenize. If only there was a list somewhere that showed each school and what MIS they had so you could start the email blast ....

That should say who says there isn't such a list... Who says I'm not aware of such information ;) Edited by GREED

I don't believe there are such plans to bring powerschool over... Do an Aspen as it were. Think it would be a harder graft for them. Remember that the founders of Aspen built Powerschool back in the day, so know a little about it ;)

Got my letter today and they recommend a transfer to RM integris with a free migration and a free 2day course for one person.

Anyone have a view on integris?

We inherited a school using it and as we are allergic to RM, ran away as fast as possible from it into the open arms of Serco CMIS... For which RM charged us £6000 to convert our data.

E1 customer (year 3 out of 5 on a contract). Telephoned E1 support to find out what is happening and if there is truth to the matter, person who is dealing with these queries will telephone me back. I found out by iSAMS contacting me!

I will need to look through our T&C ref breach of contract as changing mid year is hardly ideal.

We left RM yonks ago to go to SIMS.

It wasn't that great when i looked at it at BETT a couple of years ago.

Surely, you can't just hop to RM cos it's free, you'd have to review it against other competitors on the IMLS framework and work out what your needs are and how best they are met. Sure, the cost will be a factor, a big one at that, but also the package you get and the work involved - plus featureset...

I dont want this to turn into a tit-for-tat but scholarpack does not do what we want from an MIS point of view. I'll happily take it to PM if you wish as I dont want to derail the thread.

Indeed. The schools would legally have to go through proper procurement processes to deal with this. The RM offering could of course be included in the process, but it can't be pre-determined.

If someone is in the middle of a contract too, they definitely would have grounds for a legal case for breach of contract with Pearson.
