FragglePete Posted August 13, 2013 Posted August 13, 2013 Can't seem to deploy SIMS to workstations at the moment, get the well known error of: Unable to define target type, module has not been loaded Can't access http://s3ws.capitasolus.co.uk/ and recent deployment logs have been showing on clients I'm trying to redeploy to are showing (504) Gateway Timeout errors. Anyone else having an issue? I'm putting a call in. Pete
Ghostgame Posted August 13, 2013 Posted August 13, 2013 From Capita: SOLUS3 - Disruption to Service Dear Customer, We are currently experiencing issues which affects the availability of the SOLUS3 Service. We are currently working on this and will update you accordingly. We apologise for any inconvenience caused and thank you for your patience. Kind regards, Jonathan Wood SIMS Product Manager (Technical and Releases) 1
FragglePete Posted August 13, 2013 Author Posted August 13, 2013 Oh Marvellous - rebuilding the machine that they do Exam imports on and I can't re-install SIMS presently. Pete
Ghostgame Posted August 13, 2013 Posted August 13, 2013 You could request your LA for the latest SIMSApplicationSetup.exe If they do send it to you make sure they also send the signature file as well.
FragglePete Posted August 13, 2013 Author Posted August 13, 2013 The response I've had: "Solus 3 is down at the moment and no ETA of when it will be fixed." Oh dear..... Pete
Pudding Posted August 13, 2013 Posted August 13, 2013 I've been trying to do the Summer updates for FMS, SIMS and Discover but I can't because despite having already downloaded them Solus insists on checking with Capita before installing. Genius. So, I have to try to schedule another time this week when I can try and keep everyone off SIMS without knowing when Capita will actually have this appalling software working (at least to some extent) again. Then we can see which PC's have randomly decided not to update, and then we can see which new bugs Capita have decide to bestow upon us. I love Solus3 so much that sometimes it almost hurts. I can definitely see why Capita chose to ignore all standard installers and foisted this upon us instead. It really does enliven my otherwise incredibly dull and tedious work. I think that I might suggest to Capita that they allow us to deploy other software with Solus3, as I can't imagine any other application deployment system working as well as this.
bossman Posted August 13, 2013 Posted August 13, 2013 Pleased I did mine all in one go first week of the holidays, I'm sure it will be up and running soon @FragglePete although it is very frustrating when this happens, goes to show that even Capita have server problems hehe!
localzuk Posted August 13, 2013 Posted August 13, 2013 Oh. This might explain some things then! Today is the first day I've sat down to look at SOLUS 3 to start using it!
FragglePete Posted August 13, 2013 Author Posted August 13, 2013 Right - so I'm still getting 'Unable to define target type, module has not been loaded' errors ! I've yet to recieve an e-mail from my call raised this morning saying it's been resolved. Tried restarting Solus3 services. So, no, it hasn't been resumed. Pete
localzuk Posted August 13, 2013 Posted August 13, 2013 That was the same error I was getting. I'll wait until tomorrow and try it again.
MrMat Posted August 13, 2013 Posted August 13, 2013 As above, I'm still getting the 'Unable to define target type' error.
MrMat Posted August 13, 2013 Posted August 13, 2013 (edited) Progress at last! Looks to be back online now (for the moment at least). Edit: DOH! Now it's back off again Edited August 13, 2013 by MrMat
bossman Posted August 13, 2013 Posted August 13, 2013 Iv'e just received the following notification: The following patch(s) has been released to you and can be downloaded via the SOLUS Wizard: Patch: Patch 18525 [896-897] (Consolidated Exams patch) When I go to download the latest updates I don't even get the message "There are no downloads" it just shuts down the "Connecting to CCS update server to check for updates" after a few seconds, strange! Will give it a couple of days
synaesthesia Posted August 13, 2013 Posted August 13, 2013 I suspect that may be the patch you require for tomorrow, if that's your exam results day...
lewisburgess Posted August 13, 2013 Posted August 13, 2013 Solus2 not showing any patch available - i.e. no 18525. Support.capitaes.co.uk is not loading at home or work either. Meh.
howartp Posted August 13, 2013 Posted August 13, 2013 Solus2 not showing any patch available - i.e. no 18525. Support.capitaes.co.uk is not loading at home or work either. Meh. Ditto. No 18525 on SOLUS 3 or SOLUS 2, and supportnet not working. TBH, why Capita think 15:41 today is a suitable time to email exam officers with an urgent update that needs applying before they do the Exam results tomorrow morning, I haven't the faintest. Peter
howartp Posted August 13, 2013 Posted August 13, 2013 The patch is available as a download on Consolidated Exams Patch 18525 » Frequently Asked Questions - assuming it's the right one. Peter 1
MrWu Posted August 13, 2013 Posted August 13, 2013 I had to pester Capita support ref another exam patch and they emailed me patch 18525 yesterday, it was realised 12th August unoffically so talk about seat of the pants! Plus relaying on connecting to Capita Servers for Solus 3 to work is silly!
apearson Posted August 14, 2013 Posted August 14, 2013 SOLUS 3 still not working for me - "module not loaded" error still coming up. No exams patch either. Today is the day the new version of SOLUS 3 is meant to be released and they can't get the old one working yet!
FragglePete Posted August 14, 2013 Author Posted August 14, 2013 Working here now. No sign of the latest patch showing up though. Pete
Ghostgame Posted August 14, 2013 Posted August 14, 2013 Not working here Can't authorise updates and get the 'module has not be loaded' at two randomly selected schools. Call to Capita methinks.
