Gatt Posted July 8, 2013 Posted July 8, 2013 That was an incredible match yesterday - couldn't believe what I was seeing! I too, went a bit wussy at the end with a pair of wet eyes! And that last game was just phenomenal ! when Murray had 3 Championship points, and then lost them I thought "If Djokovic wins this game, it's over"but then he netted that final ball (again!) Murray played some of the best tennis I've ever seen - especially considering the temp was 40C! Djokovic seemed really off his game, there were so many errors from him (both forced and unforced), and then losing his cool with the umpire over a line call and not being able to challenge it .. Great day for Tennis and a great day for Britain and British sport... Well done Andy!

witch Posted July 8, 2013 Posted July 8, 2013 I left the room in the end as every time I came in, Murray lost the point. So I sat outside the patio window for the last 5 minutes - bizarre really. I thought Djokovic was magnanimous in defeat. A nice guy. Interesting point though, if Scotland had already devolved then we would have supported Djokovic as we would have closer ties with him, MrwITch being half Serbian

Particularly loved watching both the Women's and Men's Doubles Wheelchair Tennis matches in their entirety; and also that the Men's GB Wheelchair Basketball Team won The European Championships in their match vs Turkey!! Come off it. Every person needs relaxation time. You have no leg to stand on with this. Not to mention, it'd be a bit odd for him not to be there cheering our country's representative on.

He certainly outclassed him yesterday, fantastic match and he solidly deserved the win! I don't really follow tennis (or any sport for that matter) - just watch Wimbledon final. What's up with Nadal and Federer? Are they both still up there, or have their careers now peeked and they now on the way out the game? Nadal has alway been my favourite player - shows a lot of flair, entertaining to watch. Federer at his best showed similar moments of genius. For the first time yesterday, watching Murray, I saw similar flair - which Djockovic didn't. Sprinting from one side of the court to the other to catch a drop shot...
Gatt Posted July 8, 2013 Posted July 8, 2013 (edited) Nadal and Federer went out in first week - Both got knocked out by lower ranked players.. but I think they are starting to wane a little and I think we'll be seeing a lot more wins from Murray now, though I think Djokovic still has a good lead on Murray (11-8) though Murray has won both times on Grass. Tennis is about the only major sport I like and enjoy watching. My Mrs isn't so keen on it - but she did watch Murray in the SF and the Final. Edited July 8, 2013 by Gatt
