tmcd35 Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 (edited) SDL Motto: "It must all beez 1080p unless its not on ps4, then it must beez best onlyz on ps4, just like ps3z lower rendering then xbox 360z, they dont liez you knowz, they haz all our passwordz in texts for safety" Weeelll, that's almost right! Don't forget the PS3 had all them extra SPU core's which helped it kick 360's butt And, also remember - if we use lower res on PS4 we've got EVEN MOAR POWERZ for our AI, physics, lighting, frame rate, etc. Just saying. Hehe, I just remember the ps3 fanboys all claiming that the render res not the important factor when the ps3 couldnt match the 360, now suddenly thats all that matters.
featured_spectre Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 You cannot be serious, even the biggest xbox fanboys acknowledged BF4 quality goes: PC>PS4>XB1>360>PS3. C'mon man, it's really obvious in this case. Sorry, nope. Played on a 39in screen using my PC, my XB1, and his PS4. We were in agreement, PC owns the consoles hands down, that wasn't even a contest. Next up was the consoles, and we both agrees after several rounds on different game types (played on both XB1 and PS4) that the XB1 handles the game better, overall has better quality of graphics during the levelution and extreme firefights, and crashes less than the PS4. It went to the XB1 for 2nd place.
APMerry Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 Enough of this Xbox vs Sony vs Nintendo rubbish we are all gamers lets just get on with playing games. Who's Nintendo?

You're just bitter because you've got an Audi R8 and we go a Nissan GT-R. Nothing wrong with an Audi R8 - nice reliable motor. We're just gonna beat you off the line is all (cars picked because of their positions on the top gear power lap (List of Top Gear test track Power Lap Times - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia))
featured_spectre Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 In that list it goes like this. PC - Pagani Huayra PS4 - Nissan GT-R XB1 - Pagani Zonda Roadster F (Clubsport Version) Also remember, the XB1 runs more in the background than the PS4, such as secondary (and tertiary) applications.

flyinghaggis Posted March 18, 2014 Posted March 18, 2014 I thought it was a bit weird when Amazon dropped the price overnight to £20 which seemed awfully cheap for a newly released game. To be fair the review suggested it took about 3 hours to complete it properly but even though that's ridiculously short. I've just finished playing though the new South Park game which took me 14 hours and that got a lot of flak for being too short. I thought that was slightly unfair as I felt it was all fairly entertaining content and wasn't full of the usual filler/levelling-grind you can end up with when playing some other RPG's. All in all I personally was quite happy with the amount of entertainment it provided for £30. It raises an interesting question of exactly how many hours of entertainment do you expect for £20-30? Plenty of people pay £20 for a new movie on Blu-ray and most of them only last around 90 minutes! 3 hours a £20 game is still way to short IMO though and I expect most others would feel robbed paying for what sounds like an extended demo!
Tesla Posted March 18, 2014 Posted March 18, 2014 i thought the new Tomb Raider was short, but jeez. I'd feel conned.
X-13 Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 You notice that on the "high end machine" the FPS dropped to about 15-20 when he turned round and couldn't even sustain 30FPS when he shot the first rocket? That isn't a high end gaming machine. Also, if it's set up to use "the powah of the cloud!" wouldn't it be crap WITHOUT that connection? I'm calling shenanigans.
Theblacksheep Posted May 13, 2014 Posted May 13, 2014 (edited) They did say the Xbox One would always have Kinect.... so as predicted there's now going to be a Kinect free Xbox One! 350 GBP available next month. Good move, they really need the sales or they were going to get left behind by the more powerful PS4 and it's best done early on. MS are also dropping the Gold requirement for some apps and the games provided by Games with Gold will improve due to mirroring the PS+ subscription model. Phil Spencer is moving xbox in the right direction. Edited May 13, 2014 by Theblacksheep

Still same price as PS4 though, which as you say is more powerful. Without the Kinnect does it loose its unique selling feature? Too little too late?

Without the Kinnect does it loose its unique selling feature? Too little too late? Yeah, I think that selling a kinectless console without a game for £325-ish (assuming usual exchange rate) is a stupid strategy IMO when it robs the XB1 of it's USP and means software devs (MS included) can no longer assume everyone has a Kinect. Sony had the power advantage but MS had the Kinect. Now all MS has is an inferior console and a £25 price advantage which isn't going to convince anyone to pick their platform over Sony's They really needed to cut the price to the same as the PS4 and keep the Kinect. Or even better do that and bundle a free game if their margins would allow it. At least that would give punters a compelling reason to choose it over the PS4. Edited May 13, 2014 by flyinghaggis
featured_spectre Posted May 13, 2014 Posted May 13, 2014 Should have been on offer from the start. It is too little too late. They should also give up the Japanese market, that's like trying to flog a dead horse. Won't work. If a PS4 comes on offer I will snap it up. I have xb1 and if it weren't for the games I have on it and that my daughter thoroughly enjoys the lego games on it I would have sold it when my xbox live ran out.

CAM Posted May 14, 2014 Posted May 14, 2014 The whole Gold requirement for apps like Netflix when I can watch it for free on my PC was one reason I ditched Xbox Live on the 360. Felt like I was being taken for a ride on that service, took them long enough to realise what a silly requirement it is.
LosOjos Posted May 14, 2014 Posted May 14, 2014 (edited) The whole Gold requirement for apps like Netflix when I can watch it for free on my PC was one reason I ditched Xbox Live on the 360. Felt like I was being taken for a ride on that service, took them long enough to realise what a silly requirement it is. Agreed! I didn't realise until a few months back when my Gold account expired and I didn't renew (don't play the Xbox any more). Was fuming! Then you go online and face a load of fanboys telling you "of course you have to pay, Microsoft aren't going to give you internet on the Xbox for free, it's not free on your PC!" As for Kinect: This feels like a knee-jerk reaction from MS I have to say. Yeah, they're a little behind the PS4 ATM and yes, it's a less powerful machine. What they should have done IMO is stuck to their guns RE the Kinect and gave devs some incentive to really work with it, get them making great games for the Kinect instead of the usual Wii rip offs and make it a selling point. Now all they've done is doom Kinect 2 to the same fate as the original Kinect; an overpriced toy you can't even sell because it's useless. Now all they're left with is a less powerful machine and the same* range of games. Doesn't take a genius to work out Sony have already won... *apart from exclusives, of which none are going to sway many people over to the XB1 so far Edited May 14, 2014 by LosOjos
tmcd35 Posted May 14, 2014 Posted May 14, 2014 It's an interesting move. I seriously didn't think XB1 sales where going that badly. Sure they're lagging behind PS4 but as they point out themselves PS4 are in 40 terratories compared to 13 for XBox. Isn't the XB1 the second fastest selling console of all time, beaten only by PS4?
