SteveB_NI Posted August 9, 2007 Posted August 9, 2007 Yeah I agree - Chris why would you want to go there for eh. We have computer suites to look at. MMmmm, maybe not!
contink Posted August 9, 2007 Posted August 9, 2007 Would now be a good time to seek out a willing member of Customs to arrange a suitable "welcome" for our fellow geek? Jealousy is such a poor word to describe my thoughts right now
witch Posted August 9, 2007 Posted August 9, 2007 You are in Goa, and you bothered to post on Edugeek It's official - Edugeek is an addiction!
sqdge Posted August 9, 2007 Posted August 9, 2007 I love gloom. I find that it's best to think that way when I live where I do. Nothing beats gloom, wind, and drizzle. I bet you're all jealous now!
eduabncs Posted August 9, 2007 Posted August 9, 2007 Time to start a competition then. Three classes to this comp: 1) He/she who posts to edugeek from the futherest away from UK. 2) He/she who posts from the most exotic location. 3) He/she who posts from most remote location. Only thing left is to decide who is the umpire for this. I nominate Dos Box...!
webman Posted August 9, 2007 Posted August 9, 2007 Give me New Zealand any day. If only I could afford to go
eduabncs Posted August 9, 2007 Posted August 9, 2007 Give me New Zealand any day. If only I could afford to go Was IN NZ about this time last year for a family reunion etc. It was bloody cold, in Auckland while I was there it -1c one night! And to me it was Australia 20 years ago. Australia is the US 10 years ago! You get the drift! That said both are are worth going that distance to see and the sights, sounds, wildlife & people etc that are the equal of anywhere. Me, well I have family in both Oz & NZ so go out on a fairly frequent basis, on average that is about every 18 months to 3 years or so. Luckily my family is able to help out with the airfares, and I don't have to pay acommodation while I'm there, so It's actually a cheap trip for me! Airfares if you choose wisely and travel in the sholder periods it's about £850 return to Oz and usually slightly cheaper to NZ.
webman Posted August 9, 2007 Posted August 9, 2007 That's one of the things I like about NZ - roughly similar climate to the UK in most places. I don't like it too hot or too cold (shush in the back there!) Good to hear you manage to get there regularly and with free acommodation though, can't be bad
sqdge Posted August 10, 2007 Posted August 10, 2007 Give me Reno, Nevada any day. Never been, but it's where my girlfriend lives so I'm bound to like it. Failing that, North Norfolk's quite nice.

sqdge Posted August 10, 2007 Posted August 10, 2007 Do you think as they built it they got faster and faster? It's a good thing they didn't build it too tall, they would have had to start all over again.

Ain't no call for Casteneda in my frontline library. There's one thing I know, Lord above, I ain't gonna go, I ain't goin' to Goa, Ain't goin' to Goa now Ain't goin' to Goa, Ain't gonna Goa now. Ain't dancin' trance, no thanx, no chance to t-t-tranquilise me. Ain't sippin' no smart bar drinks, you, that don't satisfy me. Dosing up my dharma, with a drop of gasoline, I ain't down with Mr. McKenna, tantric mantra talkin' don't move me. I don't need no freaky, deeky, fractal geometry, crystal silicon chip. I ain't walking on lay lines, reading no High Times put me on another bad trip. Timothy Leary, just check out this theory, he sold acid for the F.B.I. Well, he ain't no website wonder, the guru just went under, you can keep your California Sunshine. 'Cos the righteous truth is, there ain't nothing worse than some fool lying on some Third World beach wearing spandex, psychedelic trousers, smoking damn dope pretending he gettin' consciousness expansion. I want consciousness expansion, I go to my local tabernacle an' I sing with the brothers and sisters Alabama 3 :p:p
