Hello All,

We currently use Kaspersky End Point 8 Enterprise Antivirus, and the contract is almost about to come to an end. The facilities that the Enterprise Console in Kaspersky provides is fantastic, and it is full of features. We have had lots of problems with it though, for example - when updates have come through in the past, they've caused machines to loose system files and we've ended up either rebuilding software or repairing o/s.

Sophos is another option, but it's pretty basic and doesn't do too much compared the the facilities in Kaspersky, and Sophos is more expensive than Kaspersky.

What does everybody else use?

We use Sophos and love it.

Except when it flags itself as a virus and deletes everything with the word "update" in it.

In the enterprise console for sophos though, you can start basic tasks on clients; but you can't see what is updating where and when, it's not very informative! Overall I think the enterprise console is too basic for a well managed enterprise system.

We use Eset Endpoint Antivirus for Business. (Was Eset Nod32 for Business)

We have used Eset for years - it has low resource usage and is easily to deploy with the Remote Administration Server.

LOL - granted that was a major PITA but all virus vendors make mistakes (McAfee being the worst in my experience) and Sophos did react quickly.

I agree that's one of the annoying 'features' of Sophos Enterprise Manager - I would love to see the progress of clients and also improved reporting.

The client end tools for Sophos are great, easy to follow layout and user friendly, but really poor enterprise console facilities!

We use Sophos endpoint protection anti virus and Sophos pure message do spam filtering. Both fantastic products, I hardly have to touch the server, just check for alerts every so often but it emails them to you if there are any! We got the whole Sophos package which I think lasts several years befor it needs to be renewed. Would highly recommend it

I would say it is recommended to monitor the server regularly where Anti Virus is concerned, and the info needed to monitor the clients isn't suitable in Sophos.

Yeah of course, what i'm getting at is once its setup, its very easy to maintain. There isn't a great deal of information about clients in the Enterprise Console but i'm sure that will be improved with future releases.

We had an RM CC3 network before with Symantec EndPoint Protection which was awful compared. RM used to insist on a full virus scan everyday which slowed our machines at the time down to a grinding halt!

Im sooooooo glad we aren't with RM anymore!

Currently using Microsoft Forefront Endpoint as we got the licences with our CoreCAL, easy to do basic management via GPO but trialling Sophos at the moment for more granular control and reporting.

Sophos since 2004. Apart from the glitch last year which they worked their socks off to help sort out and vastly improved their support as a result it's been fabulous. It does so much more through the Enterprise Console as well - like allowing easy set up of various groups that client machines can be dropped into with clamp downs on a huge array of issues such as blocking use of USB memory sticks and running various programmes.
