Got it in our main ICT suites, and it works brilliantly, but we use Sophos as our AV. The only other issue is SIMS SOLUS3, had to install that manually on the pcs where it'd be needed. The other issue is any custom scripts that reference specific folders, ie. for our custom Wallpapers, basically you have to overwrite some of the GPOs and have custom msi installers to install into the correct folder in c:\

Win7 x64 was released by RM last half term. I've spent the last half term making sure we have all the drivers in place, and re-building any packages that are available in 64bit (photoshop was the main one). We'll be rolling it out site wide over the summer.

RM did send an email out telling people to stop deploying it until a new software patch comes out though, UPD139 [TABLE=width: 100%]

[TD]Important information about the Windows 7 SP1 64-bit download for CC4

We have identified an issue with the Windows 7 SP1 64-bit product which we are working to address with CC4UPD139. This issue also affects terminal servers and CC4 Anywhere so please do not core upgrade your terminal servers until after CC4UPD139 has been made available and installed.

We expect to release the update by the beginning of May.

They may have sent it out to some people but it certainly never found its way here, there's no mention of it anywhere on their website either (Mind you, I don't know quite why I seem so surprised at that)_.

I have machines building fine so far only from build disk as I did not want to load any extra drivers to the build area. The only issues I have found so far is CS4 not installing correctly, but I am happy to just hit run on auto install for now while I work on a proper package and RMVP5.1. Yes, I have installed the 64bit package of RMVP5.1 ;)

Odd, wonder how I got that email then :twitch:. Hope you enjoyed the Brecon Beacons Nation Park.

Hmm, side note 2: Pressing enter in the WYSIWYG editor doesn't seem to do anything in IE10 Metro, had to switch the editor to source mode @Dos_Box

Yes thanks, had a lovely couple of days walking on the hills. I too have seen enter not working in IE10 unless it's in compatibility mode.

Glad it's not just me there.

Does anybody know how much the Windows 8 Smartclient Costs? I was told we could just have it, since I'd be testing it out on existing, CC4 licensed PCs I should think RM should just give it to us.

Mainly want it for my Office PC, having Windows 8 on all my other pc's, having to go back to Windows 7 is actually a PITA

Somebody on the RM Communities said that it was available to download from the 'My Downloads' section of your account. It's not appearing on mine though :(

Win 8 smartclient is freely available for CC4.2 and CC4.3 networks that have a valid support contract and the download IS supposed to appear under My Account- Product Downloads, does for me anyway and we are not field trialing it although its concieveable they may be staggering it, give support a call and i'm sure they can sort it.

Windows 8 build will only be available for those who have ordered CC4.4 and requires a 2008r2 Forest Root when its eventually released.

It's being staggered - it was on a recent bulletin from them. Think I will wait for the summer before I roll it out.

The update does require quite a lengthy core update of all the machines, its taken us about 4 days to do the whole site and inevitably you get a small number that require a complete rebuild.

Isn't CC4.4 meant to be a free upgrade that's user installable?

From RM

Our recent communications to you about an issue with Windows 7 SP1 64-bit download for CC4 may have caused some confusion. We are working on a fix for a particular issue that ONLY affects Terminal Server computers if they are Core Upgraded. Other computers are not affected and can be core upgraded or rebuilt in the usual way. Apologies for any confusion this may have caused.

CC4UPD139 (which includes a fix for this Terminal Server issue and some bug fixes) is currently in validation and should be available soon. We recommend that you DO NOT core upgrade Terminal Servers until this is released and installed on your network.
