Projector Sanyo plc-XU41 problems
Ok technical people of the edugeek world, I have a problem in the shape of a SANYO plc xu41 projector.
When I turn it on I can the fans going, the power led goes from red to green. Then after 10-20 seconds the red warning light comes on and, the projector doesn’t project.
Solutions I’ve tried:
-Replacing the build.
-Letting it cool for a week or 5
-phoning promethean and getting told to do the same things
- Its also out of warranty
Theories I have, I have seen mention of a thermal switch in the machine, which is stuck off. But i cannot find a service manual for it without paying. I have opened it up, but cannot see this illusive switch if it exists in this model.
Does any one have any solutions, i would be very grateful
Thanks

28th June 2010, 12:53 PM #2 We've had this with a number of PLC-XE40 projectors - the first couple were, fortunately, still in warranty. This last one (one that was replaced previously) is now out of warranty.
It seems to be a common fault and, in short, the projector is knackered.
Looking at getting a PLC-WXE46 as a replacement (£760 ish instead of £1200 ish for the PRM-20A, which is the current one shipped by Promethean)

29th June 2010, 03:35 PM #5 You may find this is an issue with particulate matter getting in to the projector, maybe try giving the whole unit a thorough clean as this may help.

21st March 2011, 11:31 AM #7 Did you find a solution to this? We have a Sanyo plc-xe32 with the same issue, warning light flashs (the lamp replace bulb light is fine) and we cannot reset anything as you cannot get onto menus without it powered on

fix your projector
if you would like to fix the projector email me i have my own and have repaired it many times a quick fix for the SANYO plc xu41 there will be a paperclip size hole on the base of the projector this is the heat trip sensor you have to push on this with some considerable pressure try it a couple of times and it should fix itself
