Pearson stopped our pupils logging in today as they were unable to "enable 3rd party cookies" this is because I'd configured Edge privacy settings to block tracking. Pearson are allowing cross site logins, this new feature, requires the use of 3rd party cookies! (shouldn't that be my choice?)

Hi All, This might be a silly question but I will ask anyway and give the reason. Last week I had about 20 users all trying to access a https site using different usernames etc (it was for Thrive training). They said that if one person tried to add a record to the system logged on as 'user1' while someone else in the suite (logged on as 'user2') tried to access another page they were not on then they would then be presented with the page as if they were 'User1'..... I am sure that still does not make sense after reading it 5 times so I will right it in steps Both users are using IE10 and logged onto the Thrive site as... 1.PC1 is logged on as 'User1' 2.PC2 is logged on as 'User2' 3.User1 adds a record to Thrive and saves 4.User2 refreshes Thrive page on PC2 and it now says they are logged in as 'User1' (they should be 'User2') eMy question is... Does SWGFL proxy cache cookies or something that would cause this issue to happen? I ask because this is a idea put forward by the programmer's of the software, they think I need to disable the cache on the proxy. If that is what is needed then why didn't Merlin and all other content management systems fall foul of this issue? I hope someone can make sense of this and give an answer Thanks for your time and effort in advance

Is there a way to have a users cookies follow them [Without] roaming profiles? It'd make some websites a little lower friction.

Hi, I've setup Data Protection Manger 2010 for our Backups, since Backup Exec was becoming expensive to maintain. Most Servers backup OK but a few always have problems with the cookies folder in the user profile. - This normally just results in a warning. but.. There is an server with redirected profiles on it, (More cookies than Cookie Monster could eat) so DPM reaches the 100 failed files limit and "the replica is inconsistent" error. An error line from the failedfileslog.txt is: 0x80070005 \\?\Volume{d1d45b15-30e3-11df-8924-00137267215c}\Profiles\Admin\Cookies\admin@hitbox[11].txt I know I could add these as exceptions but that's a lot of work. I don't understand why it can backup all other parts of a profile, but gets stuck on small txt files. Is there an easy fix? Mmmm, all that talk of cookies has made me hungry

Hi, We are having problems at the moment where by the EMBC have blocked iGoogle but some of the students have already been on the site prior to the blocking. This means that when they goto google.co.uk the browser/google redirects them to their iGoogle page which is blocked. We have gone through deleting all cookies etc but this has still not resolved the issue for some users. The only thing that seems to work is to do a browser reset or run IE in private mode which is our current work around. I have read threads about iGoogle but all of those seem to be about blocking it which the EMBC doesnt seem to have a problem with Any help would be great! Regards, Ben
