  1. Mainly hooked on my priest, but playing on US servers
  2. I'd have to check, but Gendi or GendiUK
  3. I was feeling the exact same way... just don't want to move to Surrey! BTW, where are you in Warwickshire? I'm in the far south west
  4. They sent out a so called "requested" quote. I had a spare couple of minutes (yeah, yeah, I know!) so fancied a rant and rang the guy named, he claimed to have not even been in that day! Anyway, I told him to never contact the school again and hung up... feel much better now.
  5. Some good memories on this post, just wanted to add Fallout 1 and 2 for my list
  6. Do you use Ranger remote control? I think someone mentioned that causing a very similar problem not so long ago... I guess this could apply to net support too, I think ranger almost the same thing
  7. We've had the same start recently here and ranger isn't meant to do anything to webpages
  8. Ah well, at least it isn't me. Its just so damned annoying, but I guess I can say that about a lot of things. Also, thanks for that update Toby.
  9. Since I migrated to 2005 (from full 2000) the database backup that used to take 6 minutes now takes 40. Now as all the sims admins know any upgrade/patch carries out a backup before applying (whether you've done one manually or not) So every little patch now takes roughly 40 minutes and 3 seconds. This is getting damned annoying with all the little patches that have been needed of late so I rang county support (We pay them for SIMS, I just don't want to know when it comes to SIMS) and the answer back from them. "Thats perfectly normal" grrr Anyone else experiencing a huge increase in db backup since the forced move to 2005?
  10. I'm with webman here, can you tell us more on the sims web interface plz?
  11. As I understand it the Ultimate edition allows you to pick any base language (eg English) so upgrading should allow you to change between English and Italian. I have not however tried this.
  12. works well here too, all have the same SSID
  13. Also, is it a wide screen laptop? We've had problems with the software gettng confused with widescreen laptops.
  14. Get the nx7400 same drivers, took them 3 weeks to tell me that, I'd tried all the earlier model drivers, never thought to try the later model!
  15. Ah, another round of Mikesoft bashing Search the forums, we've been here and bashed before
  16. So is this a good job in Northhampton or a good job despite being in Northhampton?
  17. I can come off some of the pills now, me geeks are back!
  18. No doubt on USBDLM, once you read a bit about it you can deploy the settings via registry and the msi using the gpo, thankfully another piece of software from your chair!
  19. Cool, cheers
  20. Silly question, but I too plan to buy the orange box which will include halflife and episode 1 which I've already bought, I can you transfer the ownership on steam? I wasn't aware you could...
  21. Just bought the creative suite 3 web premium (which includes photoshop cs3) site licence for 4.1k. There is a creative suite 3 design (not premium) that includes photoshop cs3 which is cheaper, but has less programs all together. the web premium was the best option for us. Oh and forget easy msi deploy! A guy here did say he'd found a way and would post later, but he never did
  22. Out of country, though ironically my departure airport is very close!
  23. Any chance of this guide?
  24. Price difference is very little. I have also found out it doesn't do mac based radius auth
  25. I was flicking through a network product catalogue today (as you do) and I came to the hp section (we use hp almost exclusively for network infrastructure here) and I saw the 2510 series and no mention of the 2600 series. I did a quick comparison on the hp website and I can't see much difference between the 2 except one is half the weight and fanless! Anyone know if the 2510 series is inferior to the 2600 series (apart from only having a 24 port model). I can't see anything missing that I normally use, vlans, radius mac auth, probably other bits. If 2510 is pretty much the same it could solve a problem for me where in the past someone stupidly wired about 24 points into the top of someones office and they won't have a noisy switch in there
