[bromcom] Anybody help with Bromcom "Ad-Hoc Reports" permissions
Bromcom_support2 replied to Jaan's topic in MIS Systems
Hi Jaan I believe one of my colleagues has now been in touch with you to answer your follow up queries and make sure there was nothing else you needed today. Apologies that when you sent the query on Thursday it was not responded to until yesterday. Do let us know if you need anything else. Best wishes, Bromcom support -
[bromcom] Bromcom and fully integrated Cashless Catering and MCAS payments
Bromcom_support2 replied to Jaan's topic in MIS Systems
Hi Jaan, you can find a full list of Bromcom partners at the link below: https://www.bromcom.com/partners The page doesn't currently allow you to filter by function - eg ''cashless catering'' - our website team are in the process of updating it to make it slightly easier to navigate. Hope that helps! -
[bromcom] Staff cannot type into free comment fields
Bromcom_support2 replied to CarterUSM's topic in MIS Systems
Hi CarterUSM For the benefit of others reading this, you can set the character range for the comments under Modules > Assessment > Assessment Components > Types > Mock Exam Comment (Optional) > Edit. You can see from the screenshot that the Characters Remaining (top right of the pop up) was 0, this needs to be set to e.g. minimum 0 and maximum 500. Hope that helps, Bromcom Support -
Hi @supportman and @noelmm, we're sorry that you've been struggling with speed issues. A few of our customers reported issues with slowness this morning on certain pages, including the attendance pages, and we are still investigating the root cause of this. It does seem to have been resolved but we'll do a full analysis to update the customers who have raised cases with us. @noelmm - you should not be experiencing constant speed issues with Bromcom and as you mention, where this is reported we would usually do a remote session with you to capture the issue there and then. If that's not worked so far then that's very frustrating, but if the issues are still happening, then we should keep trying. If you want to send me a private message confirming your school details, I can provide an email address for you to email when the issues occurs, so we can call you or a colleague back immediately and record the issue happening in real time. Best wishes, Bromcom Support

Hi ridleyrumpus and sonofsanta, there are no known issues with the seating plan at present. I have linked the How To guide below and if you have followed this and still cannot get it to work then please do raise a support case. You will see from the guide that this is still intended to be used by teachers for their own classes and not for administrators to create ''general'' seating plans available to all. Guide: https://docs.bromcom.com/knowledge-base/how-to-create-a-seating-plan/ Please do contact us at support if you are still experiencing issues. Bromcom Support

[bromcom] BROMCOM and 2 Factor Authentication 2FA
Bromcom_support2 replied to kennysarmy's topic in MIS Systems
Hi Kennsarmy, there is a way to achieve this, although it's a little complicated. You can assign security controls to a role, so you could manage this via assigning different roles to the same users, but some constraints would apply. I will drop you a DM with more detail to see if this will do what you want. You can always contact us in support too via the usual channels Kind regards, Bromcom support -
[bromcom] Bromcom SMTP using Office 365 - any limitations?
Bromcom_support2 replied to kennysarmy's topic in MIS Systems
Hi Kennysarmy, there are sending limits on Office 365 so you'd need to check the latest Microsoft guidance on these, but the majority of our customers have no issues using Office 365 with Bromcom. If for some reason you do need to switch then we provide a Bromcom SMTP which you can read about here https://docs.bromcom.com/knowledge-base/how-to-manage-smtp-system-settings/ Best wishes, Bromcom Support -
[bromcom] Student Portal - students can't see timetable
Bromcom_support2 replied to panosthegreat's topic in MIS Systems
Hi panosthegreat, apologies again for the issue here. As mentioned you can create and publish timetable reports to the Student Portal and then people can log in and view them from there. You don't need to use MCAS if your parents are not already using that. We will keep you updated on the software fix. Good luck with the opening tomorrow. Best wishes, Bromcom Support -
[bromcom] Problem re importing data from .csv sheet
Bromcom_support2 replied to CarterUSM's topic in MIS Systems
Hi CarterUSM, if you are able to contact support then we will happily investigate this for you. As it is not matching on Student, I would check whether the admission number has been changed by Excel, if there are preceeding zeros in the system these are stripped out. If you have checked this and they do match, then please drop us a line at Support and we will be happy to investigate this for you further. Best wishes, Bromcom Support Team- 1 reply

Hi CarterUSM, if we use your example of the Assessment Pathways, you can create a Subject called Pathways (in Curriculum), then when you import the Assessment Pathways results, map the subject to Pathways. Then when creating a Template for eg. year 7, you can add a column for Assessment Pathways, and select the subject Pathways. The same process can be used for importing any results which are non subject-specific. Your success manager will be happy to talk you through this or of course you can always contact Bromcom support. Best Wishes, Bromcom Support

Migrating assessment data from SIMS to Bromcom
Bromcom_support2 replied to CarterUSM's topic in MIS Systems
Hi CarterUSM, welcome to Bromcom! I've answered your questions below (in italics). The answers are based on adopting the Bromcom method of assessment - we can (and do) migrate the SIMS method for some customers but this is not the norm, most opt for Bromcom assessment method which is much easier once you understand it. You don’t need to do the import until you are live and your Customer Success Manager will be able to help you with this. If you want to send me a private message with your contact details and school name, I can put you in touch with your Success Manager to talk you through in more detail. 1. Will the migration from SIMS to Bromcom automatically include those from an external provider (i.e. CES Assessment Services)? Bromcom answer - No but if the data is exported out into Excel the import functionality in Bromcom is really easy and can bulk import multiple years/subjects/terms all in one go 2. Presumably it will just be a matter for me to create the individual gradesets within Bromcom, and clone from there as required. However, when it comes to the ‘Marks-Decimal’ & ‘Marks –Integer’ gradesets, will I need to create these individually, as they’ll have different maximum & minimum thresholds? Bromcom answer - the "Marksets" will need to be set individually if the boundaries are different 3. Are there any other particular points I need to bear in mind when replicating our existing assessment components within Bromcom (I’ve been on the assessment training course, and wonder if there were any definite do’s & don’ts when I come to do this)? In addition, are there any particular sections within the Bromcom documentation centre which you have found to be particularly relevant and helpful in assisting you with the process? Bromcom answer - the key point is to create assessment types based on the overarching collection and then use the exceptions within that Assessment type to pick up the differences with the gradesets. Again, your Customer Success Manager can help you with this and provide a How To guide.- 5 replies

[bromcom] Pathways with Mandatory profiles
Bromcom_support2 replied to timbo343's topic in MIS Systems
Hi timbo343, Unfortunately, this is a limitation of "ClickOnce apps". This limitation comes from Microsoft - a recent Microsoft article states “As of latest .NET Framework you could not run ClickOnce apps with mandatory profiles.” Until we convert this into the web version (which we are in the process of doing now), the only choice you have is for users to use Local Profiles, as you are already planning to do for your four users, or prevent the profile being deleted. We will obviously update all customers when the situation changes. I hope that's helpful, let us know if you need anything else from us Bromcom Support
