  1. I don't have a login anymore so I can't share the exact link but if you head over to https://customer.support-ess.com/ and search for "2019 installable" there should be a KB article with all the passwords including for FMS etc. Although I believe that a new updated 2023 one was made so you're probably better off using that if you want anything serious setup, less patches to run etc etc. I've not done a new SIMS install in years but I always remember it being a pain!
  2. No one on EduGeek can provide these files as it would be a breach of any sort of contracts we currently hold with ESS. It is also against forum rules. If you need these files, ask ESS or your SIMS support unit. Might I ask why you are installing such an old version of SIMS? I don't really understand the use case here.
  3. Should note that Subsonic is not paid nor online based. The paid version has more advanced features. You could also use Airsonic, which is a fork of the original project with all features in for free. That's what I currently use.
  4. I've just noticed this, on the VLSC Windows 11 has the same KMS and MAK keys as 10. So its just intended to activate using W10 KMS keys.
  5. I still cannot get any DNS records at all for facebook.com or instagram. Or facebookmail.com. It looks like this outage is going to go on a lot longer. BGP issues like this take a while to resolve, especially when they dont even have the right staff in the DC due to covid!
  6. Rather weird, something I noticed. The ESS booking system and the SchoolCloud one you linked are 100% identical. I have a feeling the ESS one is not in fact an ESS one. (You can even see the SchoolCloud copyright at the bottom!)

    Strategy

To clarify on this, ISOs created via the media creation tool will be able to bypass the TPM and secure boot and the EFI requirements, but its not a supported configuration by Microsoft.

    Strategy

TPM isn't an issue at all now. Microsoft made it so it only "Nags" you, instead of preventing an install. They only require TPM for upgrade installs. We run LTSC 2019 here, which has an end of support date of 2029. Realistically all of our machies should be very capable of running Windows 11 by that point anyways.
  9. Isn't that just for validating addresses in SIMS when you input them, so they match an actual street address? It might not be that big of an issue but I'm not sure how EduLink uses that.
  10. SalamanderSoft can do this, as well as automatically creating Google Classrooms based on data in your MIS and syncing timetables to Google Calender, plus much more! . It's £500 per year for schools with less than 500 pupils or £999 for 500+. Can't reccomend Salamander enough. I know lots of others also rely on them for similar intergrations.
  11. Yeah probably. No worries. Heimdal is a danish company so I don't believe they would be incorporated in the UK.
  12. FYI - For the Azure AD DS stuff. You would be looking at £0.12 per hour for up to 25,000 objects, or £90 per month. If that's something you would consider.
  13. What? Heimdal are fairly large. Maybe not as much in the UK. They are Denmark based. I've seen them used in loads of places. Mostly enterprise.
  14. Is this Hyper-V? Any chance the MAC address on the controller VM has changed? That could possibly cause issues, not sure.
  15. It's cheaper than other offerings though. Amazon WorkSpaces charge about the same per month for that config, however they also charge hourly rates to use the service, making it more expensive. WorkSpaces seems to have thrived, so a market does exist for this. Calling it a non-product would perhaps be a bit unfair. And also, this is for remote access to company resources as well. Not just a "PC in the cloud". Thats what we are planning to use it for. Remote access to network shares and company owned software.
  16. It does say 3 months before though, so that would mean August, September and some of October
  17. I'm rather confused about those due to turn 18 being offered the vaccine. BBC says just that. They are being offered. NHS website however says this: "If you've been invited to book because you're turning 18 soon, please book a date for your 1st dose vaccination that is on or after your 18th birthday." So whats changed? You could already book a vaccine after you turn 18? Something I'm missing here?
  18. I feel like a better symbol would be more useful. Similar to the lanyards people wear for being mask exempt. I can see lots of people going into meltdown over the idea of an armband, specifically because its being used to make a certain group of people stand out against the rest, something which has been done before in no so great circumstances....

    Windows 11

I have a feeling the sole reason for the name change is the increased security / TPM requirements. It's too drastic of a change to include in a CU for Windows 10 really. Microsoft are wanting to rival Google and Apple when it comes to physical security.
  20. I add and remove vCPUs from VMs all the time, even on Server 2008 with no issue at all. On both ESXi and HyperV. If you are only changing the amount of vCPUs i don't see any issue.
  21. Try logging in as SYSMAN with the default password. SIMS backups dont copy over passwords if i remember correctly.

    Windows 11

Sadly not. LTSC is now only 5 years, not 10. In fact, LTSC 2019 is in support for longer than the new LTSC 2022! So if you want long term, go 2019 as thats the last LTSC version that will be supported (2029)
  23. Sorry if this has been asked before, but I'm looking to replace my aging Macbook air 2012 with a new laptop. Looking for: Under £450 Can handle productivity work (Office, Chrome, light tasks in Visual Studio, SIMS, etc). 15 Inch Screen. At least 8GB of RAM. Battery life not much of an issue, at least 2 hours would be nice. I'm happy to get a refurb unit if its a better deal than buying new. Anyone got any suggestions?

You can get an ISO unofficially via windows update. https://www.xda-developers.com/download-windows-11/
  25. I looked on the release notes and Summer 2020 was the 4th of July?
