  1. This is not how ours was setup. From the off we seem to have ; admin_web_filtering default_web_filtering pupil_web_filtering staff_web_filtering We also have 2 new ones; transparentpupil (no idea why this is there) byod (which I asked for) We did ask for the Lightspeed policies we already had to be transferred so I don't know if those policy groups are related to that.
  2. I want to setup a web page with instructions for our BYOD users when they connect so it tells them how to set up Proxy settings on their iOS or Android device. Has anyone already got some good instructions that I could pinch please?
  3. Has anyone been given training on how to use the NetSweeper Admin Console or been given written instructions? What do we do/can we do with Group Manager/ Policy Manager/Category management. i would like to customise our setup but at the moment I am a bit lost in the Console.
  4. The reason for the question was that Unidays insist that students register with their School email addresses. Amazon and forums don't have that requirement. I wanted clarification as to our responsibility, if any.
  5. Year 11 and up are able to send and receive external emails, so no they would not have to ask us but some did. As the above excerpt from their Privacy Policy states data is sent outside of the EEA. As the students are using email addresses issued to them by the School do we have any responsibility in this?
  6. Some of our older students have asked if they can sign up to Unidays website. Unidays say they only need to sign up with their School email address to verify they are students and the school have no further involvement. Is this something for our GDPR audit? We are not asking the Students to sign up for anything related to School activities. Their Privacy Policy contains this paragraph
  7. My fault I was being thick. I was trying to pm @RobMason instead of just RobMason.
  8. Our site isn't that big. Any recommendations on good robust devices?
  9. We have a couple of Motorola XTNis which were purchased many years ago. Work well enough. Now SLT want more than 2 so have asked me to look if I can get a couple more. The XTNis are no longer available so my question, not knowing much about walkie talkies is ; The XTNis work on PMR446 frequencies. If I buy a couple of units of a newer model of Motorola that also work on PMR 446 will they be compatible? Will the current users be able to communicate with those using the newer units?
  10. @jamesleonard Any ideas when the proper exam will be available now that the beta is closed.?
  11. Has the timetable sync ability been added to Unify yet?
  12. Transparent proxy would solve a few of our issues.
  13. You would be correct in that assumption although there seems to be an annual licence which is transferable but I have never purchased one.
  14. +1 for C-Learning.
  15. Ours sign in with their Google credentials which are mapped to their Smoothwall groups. We use "connect for Chromebooks" extension deployed to each Chrome user.
  16. When we joined SB 2 years ago we had 2 VLANs but we were told that we had to change the IP range of 1 as it was already used within SB. So why was that?
  17. Sorry, you type what in and it works?
  18. Everything I have read says Android doesn't support wpad. Are you saying you have it working with Android devices?
  19. Students don't need to use USBs. Students use G Suite so all work is available online anywhere . Also I thought Bitlocker was a machine policy not a user policy.
  20. How many SSIDs did you guys have?
  21. What is the cost difference please? Are you saving much?
  22. I see these are sold now. Can I ask what you upgraded to ?
  23. That works out to £280 per AP. Which Unifi APs are you talking about? We don't use the cloud controller. We have a 3000 series onsite controller.
  24. We currently have 50 older Ruckus APs which need upgrading. We use ACLs and VLAN each BYOD off. We also have a guest WLAN and that's about it. We will be needing more APs in the near future for a new block being built. Would Unifi suffice?
