From memory there are two Radius options in the directories menu, Radius accounting being the one that will not be supported much longer.

I go for Continental tyres where possible, after attending one of their events driving cars with various tyres on in some more aggressive situations (Slamming the brakes on / avoiding objects on wet road at speed e.t.c) it was quite alarming how poor some of the more 'budget' options were.

Turnstiles or speed gates would be the options I'd put forward. Speed gates tend to be faster but can be slightly more troublesome if people are deliberately trying to tailgate. They do tend to still need to be in a supervised area though, otherwise you get them sliding underneath or jumping over the top. Speed gates can be setup to alarm if they detect this but do tend to be more expensive. I've worked with these before a while back in a school, wired in with Paxton. Happy to advise further if needed.

Yeah, I'd give one a try and go from there. Just be aware that that one needs Phantom power, most mixers have it but worth a quick check.

Boundary mics are designed to go at the edge of the stage and pick up what is in-front, depending on the size of the stage you may need more that one or two. Alternatively you could try a couple of Shotgun mics aimed in the right directions.

Burconix has some management tools, I've never used them myself but believe they have some similar functionality to CC4

I believe you can save it, it's under one of the tabs something like save setup as default.

We run ours on a Synology box, that also serves as a veeam backup repository.

We tend to go for something like a BT business broadband connection as a backup line.

Other thing to be wary of is Activation lock, We've had a couple of stacks over the years where nobody knows the apple ID associated with each device. Just double check each one isn't signed into some random personal apple ID and find my iPad is disabled.

All of ours are with Smoothwall at the moment, On the whole I'm happy with it. I've found the support to be far better if you log a ticket rather than a phone call. I think some better documentation and possibly some troubleshooting guides could help with some of the issues with it. That said I am interested in looking at Fortinet again as I've heard plenty of positive stuff about it lately.

iPads used to be about half my job when working for another MSP, think we had about 2000 on various Mosyle accounts. All enrolled through a MacBook Air and a Griffin Multidock, Somewhere between 8 and 10 at a time. Have to say though quite a lot of the time iPads would error out on the first time and need to go back through the process again. For this many devices a decent USB hub is a must, I've found Cambrionix to be pretty decent, their hubs can be found inside some of the LapCabby Sync / Charge units. Also worth bearing in mind that the lightning port is only USB 2.0

Currently with Impero Ed Pro, however I'm starting to get a little frustrated with it. Especially teachers not being able to pick up PC's consistently which seems to have been a long term issue.

That is the subnet that VPN clients get their addresses from, not your 'main' subnet. Smoothwall should take care of this subnet for you. For example we use 10.110.0.0 with the subnet mask 255.255.255.0

We've been looking at OSTicket (Free / self hosted) and SolarWinds WHD. I've used SolarWinds previously and quite liked it.

I'd suggest U6 Pro's for all new Unifi installs, partly as the DFE now suggests all new installs should comply with the AX standard.

I've been pretty happy with the Kyocera Ecosys machines, P2040 for B&W bought from PrinterLand Always put cheap toner in them as well, no problems yet.

I'd suggest the Aruba cx6100s, We've found HP / Aruba to just be the best overall. (wish they hadn't messed with the CLI though:) ) We have had a significant number of Unifi / Edgemax switches fail across our estate at various sites, usually just out of warranty. So we tend to shy away from recommending them unless there is a specific circumstance where they are a better fit like the flex switches with POE in and out.
