Apple School Manager will only change the MDM when the iPad is reset and being provisioned. The iPad asks ASM during setup which MDM it should connect to and that is then end of it as far as i'm aware. Switched from Mosyle to Meraki a little while ago and spent most of the summer resetting iPads

We're getting the same here. Are you a LGLF internet school? I've raised a case with them about it but not heard anything back. Not surprising though, their support times have been awful as of late.

Personally, I wouldn't redirect appdata. It can increase logon times as the profile grows, and tends to get corrupted every-now and then. It was once setup here a decade ago, and we had nothing but trouble with it. I can't imagine what it would be like with Teams, which stores most of it's files in appdata. We don't use any form of redirection anymore apart from the desktop, which is redirected to a local folder on the machine which is copied from a template on the server on each shutdown. Local profiles is the way to go IMO

All seems fine here - no reports of any issues. Microsoft 365 health centre doesn't seem to show any notable outages

I've had a similar issue to this but with PowerPoint while using a SMART Interactive Display. The touch was always a few inches offset, and tended to get worse over time. For us the fix turned out to be turning off the "Fix scaling for apps" option in advanced scaling settings in the Windows 10 settings control panel. Give the machine a restart after turning off the toggle. We've since used a registry edit to disable it for all machines connected to the SMART panels. Not sure if it'll help but might be worth a try?

IMO it shouldn't have been called Azure AD in the first instance. It's a whole different beast compared to legacy AD A name like Azure ID would've made more sense.

Hi all, Wondering if anyone here has come across the issue below? I'm not getting much of response from the LGFL support team. We use Classroom Cloud to monitor web activity on a set of Pupil iPads in school using their managed browser. It was working fine up until the switch over to the new HTTPS SchoolProtect filtering from LGFL. Since the changeover, none of our iPads are able to establish a connection to Classroom Cloud. I know it's the new filtering, and not Classroom Cloud, as when I connect the device to a mobile hotspot, it has no issue and works as intended. I've added exceptions for Classroom Cloud into the HTTPS decryption page, but that hasn't worked. I've also ran a number of different IP reports and whatnot and can't seem to see what the issue is. This is the main issue at the moment, but we're also having problems activating Microsoft products, such as office, since the switchover... Appreciate any guidance!

It's been that way for awhile! Seems like the MacOS team have a bit more freedom and much quicker update rollout than the Windows team. The remote desktop app on MacOS is leagues ahead of the Windows app

They're a bit on the expensive side but we use Motorola XT420 radios here. Solid and reliable, they can take quite the beating. Some of our older models are reaching 8 years in service. Pretty customisable as well if you buy the cable to configure them. Scramble codes are useful to prevent other users on the same channel from listening in.

Our Headteacher and SLT appreciated the heads up, especially on this day where our Head was absent so our Deputy was more prepared to take the call. We were long overdue our Ofsted, so we knew it was just around the corner and had everything ready as far as I'm aware. All went well thankfully! Especially since the inspection landed on the day of our MIS migration to Arbor.

We host our website with Greenhouse school websites, and their Ofsted early warning system was bang on the money. Worth speaking to them getting it enabled if any of you use them. I had an alert of potential "Ofsted activity", alerted the Head and then two hours later we had the call.

We use Xibo here and it does the job - sits on a Ubuntu box and just hums away. Never really had any complaints. Installation is a bit of a faff, but the guides are pretty comprehensive and the support on their forums is pretty decent. We side load the client app on Amazon Fire sticks here and use those to drive the displays, but it's available on a whole host of platforms

We're moving to Access Finance who were recommended by our LA. Haven't had much involvement as our Business Manager is handling that side of things. I have had to move to an alternative to Equipment Manager though as Access has no such feature. Ended up going with Microsoft Lists and then building a Power App which allows me to add, remove and update items from my work mobile - works great.

It's been a lot of work but over the half term we migrated to Arbor! Ta ta SIMS, not going to miss you one bit. We're also moving away from FMS in April, so I can finally look into sunsetting the server. For anyone contemplating switching, do it. The difference of running a modern MIS is truly night and day.

Couldn't agree more. I have no interest with meeting up 1-1, I'm there to see what is on offer.

I had the same reservations originally, but just bit the bullet at one point and deployed it. Over the last 6 years, maybe had half a dozen broken sites? And with uBlock, it's like two clicks to disable for a particular site. The cleaner and faster browsing is well worth it in my opinion.
