Last night on One Show they had a discussion regarding the British "Class" system. I personally, would consider myself middle class; I’m not rich but have a comfortable life. There is a BBC survey on this - https://www.bbc.co.uk/labuk/experiments/class/ Don't fully understand the output I got - http://yfrog.com/h2jl4jp - YouTube - John Cleese, Ronnie Barker and Ronnie Corbett: Class.

Only place i ever saw it was in newspaper "Daily Mail" so i personally would dismiss it out right there . But, not to be bias here is link to web article -3D-TV health warning: Tuning in can cause confusion, nausea and even fits, says electronics giant | Mail Online

Yeee, but my solution you get to make a server, install spiceworks, scan the school network get all information about every bit of IT you have. Then you can install the module to know how much disk space you are using, seeeeeee Simples!

My school bursar in past life worked for BT so I’m guessing that’s where she will be getting it from. I will press her for more info! I do like the SharePoint idea though! i tried to introduce that few years back but got brick walled from SLT. Never really knew why, but this might be a good time to try again as well.

(FROM SCHOOL PORTAL: 20/01/2011) Network at Risk Notification For Network Manager/Head teacher information: The CLEO network will be considered at risk on the following dates:- Thursday 20th January at 10pm for up to 2 hours. Between 5.00pm on Friday 21st January and 5.00pm on Sunday 23rd January. CLEO services will remain functional, however the network is considered at risk as there will be no resilient services whilst the backup servers are relocated during this period.

This is what i'm using. Spiceworks and a module called EMC Storage Advisor to monitor storage on a server. http://desmond.yfrog.com/Himg616/scaled.php?tn=0&server=616&filename=vvo.png&xsize=640&ysize=640

3rd hand information sorry! There is talk that Midas might now be a buy into service, with BT taking over they will have to show profitability! Disappointed if this would be the case, as CLEO subscription is going to go up (talks around 50%) Wonder what this would mean for moodle? Might end up hosting internally, Only reason i had Moodle put on county servers was the promise of integration with upcoming projects. One thing I would do would bin off mahara.

School not going so wont pay for me, self funding and having to go on a saturday! Hope there will be some goodies left me me

We will (and have) if they are going to be with the school for few weeks or more and it’s asked for. Our only concern is we never seem to be told that X person has left. So in theory, someone could have access to an "Official" school email account but not under its employment. Unfortunately the LGFL email system we use does not have a "expire" like AD can be set for.

Thank you! Working with years 7 now!
-
Just been informed by IT staff that the year 7's are not showing up (only taken 4 months), I will assume its todo with the 10 in username. Any plans to fix this?

It's not really just the saving; it’s having a portable and workable tablet that can do more than the iPad! I would agree a 10” device would be nice especially with the nice display a device like the iPad has. But, for me have a device I can carry around with me all the time is more important than a large screen. If I wanted 10” I would have an ASUS Eee PC T101MT-EU17
-
it’s just the right size to carry around and whip out when you want needed (NO SMUT INTENDED!) Played with ipad PCWORLD and friends but as soon as i tested the tab, it just made sense. i can carry around with me everywhere, even at work, RDP into server on the move or check spiceworks. Send text, make calls, emails, websites, take pics/video or video conference (who does that? Really!) watch nice sized movies... nuf said?

It's not just you, been trying for days to access school network from home but no luck. Early guesses are DNS problems, BT oops, sorry Westfield might not even know about it. But that’s a nice gift from farther Christmas! Not all bad news! Email seems to be effected to, so no complaining from teachers have reached me yet
