Found it - it's the old SigninAllowed GPO - which has now been depreciated by Google, but we had it set to false previously. We've since updated the ADM template though, so we now are stuck with this GPO set to Disabled that we can't change! Now I'm having to restore the old ADM template with the SigninAllowed GPO in it, just so I can disable the damn thing

We've decided to go down this route, but we can't seem to allow staff to sign in to chrome - As admin you click the icon of a person at the top right of the window and click Sign in to Chrome - but as our staff/students that option isn't there :S - it just says You?

Does anyone know if you can disable plugins through GPO by specifying it's type? If you look at the screenshot, we need to disable the PPAPI plugin to force it to use the NPAPI one below it, which should solve the problem. It works if I disable it locally. Trouble is they both fall under the same name "Adobe Flash Player" so if I put this in the "Specify a list of disabled plug-ins" GPO it disables both of them!

Hmmm... Need to rethink this, our staff won't like the idea of signing in/out every time to get their favorites. Looks like a logon/off script is our only option. If only Google released a GPO to specify the Pepperflash folder location! Grr.

We use the MSI and deploy a new package with each new version. Our parameters are: Set user data directory: ${roaming_app_data}\Google\Chrome\User Data Set disk cache directory: ${local_app_data}\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default If the user data directory isn't on the networked drive though, they won't be able to access their favorites etc when roaming will they?

We have Google Chrome 43.0.2357.132 installed on our workstations across our network. We're having an issue where Adobe Flash Player stops working when it automatically updates pepperflash to the latest version. It works perfectly when the plugin is pointing to: C:\Program Files\Google\Chrome\Application\43.0.2357.132\PepperFlash\pepflashplayer.dll - It is version 18.0.0.203. The problem is that Chrome automatically detects that a newer version is available (18.0.0.209). It then downloads and installs this by itself, but it puts it in the user's network drive data directory which is: N:\My Settings\Application Data\Google\Chrome\User Data\PepperFlash\18.0.0.209\pepflashplayer.dll - This is when it stops working, because it is trying to load it off the network drive, when we want it to be running off the local C:\ drive. Is there any way to force Chrome to always use the local C:\ drive for pepperflash, or is there any way of stopping it from automatically updating itself? Maybe through a GPO? I've disabled all of the Google Update GPOs but I can't find anywhere to stop plugins from updating! Many thanks

The break-out-box that connects to our projector via a lengthy VGA cable has failed, the cables have all come out and we can't re-terminate them ourselves (after trying and failing!). Does anyone know of a good company in/around the Walsall area that could come out at short notice to fix it? The projector in question is in our main hall, so currently no-one can do presentations/assemblies in there

I'm always on it, not bored of it yet - Once you start to master aerial hits & start playing ranked matches it gets really competitive. Great fun and love the social features they've built into it.

I have a PS4 and gaming PC, I probably prefer the PS4 overall. I like to just get in from work lay on the couch and have a quick game on something (currently addicted to Rocket League). I find that the PC is better for single-player, racing sims & strategy games, but I prefer the PS4 for multiplayer & casual gaming.

This is what I did to do a clean install from Windows 7 Ultimate > Windows 10 Pro fully activated, using my Windows 8.1 Pro license: Clean installed 8.1 Pro onto a new SSD drive and activated. Upgraded 8.1 Pro > 10 Pro (using the Win 10 ISO burnt onto a DVD) and activated it. Used magicaljellybean to backup/save my Windows 10 Pro key. Booted from the Win 10 Pro DVD used to upgrade from 8.1, formatted the SSD drive, created a new partition and clean-installed Windows 10 Pro. When prompted, I entered the key got from magicaljellybean. Once Win 10 installed, checked to see if it was activated and it was!

They can, but only on the same hardware - I believe if you change your processor/mobo then you'll need to purchase a new Windows 10 key, or you'd need to clean install 8/8.1, re-upgrade it to 10 and then finally format the drive and clean-install 10.

I had something very similar on my new Samsung Smart TV, I needed to change the audio settings on my FreeSat box from 5.1 to stereo which forced the HD channels to play 2.0. Never got the 5.1 working in the end

A teacher has asked me if there's anything out there that will allow them to produce a questionnaire (physical A4 paper, not online) that will then mark it. Does anyone know of such a thing? It would be a multiple-choice style questionnaire where the user puts an X or just a mark for the answer, then some software/hardware would scan and automatically mark it. We used to use something similar for our entrance exam (before my day!) but no longer have it - I wonder if just a normal scanner and some specialist software would suffice? Thanks

Exciting times we live in, all of these new potentially habitable planets/moons being discovered in "Goldilocks zones" are really awe-inspiring. With the amount of galaxies out there (100 billion that we know of) each harboring dozens of planets, I think there just HAS to be some other form of intelligent life other than us humans. We may never know and we will probably destroy our planet long before we get to deep-space travel, but it's incredible to think about.

I recently bought a 47" LG SMART TV, but had to send it back as it was faulty (dead pixel). I got a 48" SMART Samsung to replace it, and I have to say in my experience the Samsung is superior in every way - Features, picture and build quality all surpass the LG. You will do well to get a non-smart TV at that size with more than 2 hdmi ports. If you can up your budget slightly I'd look at this: Buy UE40H5500 Smart 40" LED TV | Free Delivery | Currys - but that only has 3 hdmi ports.

This looks interesting: Tweetwally - Create a Tweetwall to Organize and Present Tweets - he could set the hashtag as #PubNameFeed (or whatever). I believe Chromecast would let him access this site, then just full-screen it?
