  1. I could be wrong but if I remember rightly, the 5450 wont support 4k.
  2. Does anyone have a report template that they can export to report how many minutes a person has worked in a given time period? (Say the last working week). We have a user here where we know he worked all week but is only showing a few hours worked. This is for Netsupport ServiceDesk Many thanks.
  3. I took the plunge at home. Had a bit of trouble with the nVidia GTX 770 drivers. Had to use windows 8.1 drivers for it, but otherwise no driver issues (yet). Known working games from my test Battlefield 4 (and all DLC) Cities: Skylines (some modded DLC doesn't work properly and leaves a blank space when building, but the attributes when placing work, down to the modders to fix) Crusader Kings 2 (and all DLC) Europa Universalis 4 (and all DLC) Elder Scrolls Online Euro Truck Simulator 2 (and all DLC) Farcry 3 All I've tested so far Hardware at home FX9370 CPU GTX 770 SLI Samsung 840 EVO - 250GB Samsung 840 EVO - 1TB
  4. Normally I'd do this, but the person that actually renamed them didn't do that, so I've said in the future they should.
  5. We had this after we renamed a lot of machines due to moving rooms etc. We ended up taking them off the domain, clearing the DNS and ADUC, then re-added them.
  6. Do you run anything Apple related? whilst it took a while to get working with .local here, it was a massive faff! Also I believe certificates for exchange will expire if they run on a .local domain beyond October (I could be wrong but it was mentioned in my IT office not long ago).
  7. @Blue_Cookeh all best practices suggest that. We're moving ours over (PITA), but eh, needs to be done to remove it from a .local
  8. Passively, doing absolutely nothing except for laying in bed and not moving, you'll burn on average 1500 calories in 24 hours.
  9. OK. We have 4 servers located around the world. All clones of each other (with minor software tweaks for the local currency and obvious IP changes), they speak to a main server located in the UK. All servers can print from the UK via remote desktop, apart from Canada. They're all identical in terms of settings, and local settings are identical. Printer options show that it *should* print to a local printer, however it isn't. Everything online points to the options in MSTSC or on the server remote desktop management software, but they all have the correct settings (and identical to other servers we have). It just doesn't show any local printers on the remote machine when MSTSC is running...at all. It shows the printers at the other end, but nothing this end. Any suggestions? Registry issue perhaps? I am out of ideas, so posting here.
  10. Loving my fire stick, that + netflix + plex = job done! Never have to worry about wanting to watch a movie again, as it will be on my plex, netflix or amazon prime
  11. Sign up for a trial, job done.
  12. I got one of these for £9 as I had a £10 gift voucher applied plus the £3 digital credit
  13. Prime day is July 15th only Prime £20 off is today only Fun times as mine ran out on the 29th...wasn't going to re-up, but this gave me the motivation.
  14. yeah we have 2000 enterprise CALs, so thats not an issue...I just don't want to be trawling through 900 or so mailboxes lol
  15. Anything running a paradox database or on Borland can still work with Windows 7...You just have to know how to do it.
  16. Anyone still playing at all?
  17. well considering with no bees we'd struggle to have a food source...I think its fair to say that helping bees is helping people (by a long stretch of the imagination)
  18. Honestly? I've done it twice, once in college 13 years ago, and more recently as part of a contract negotiation (well recent, I mean 2012). I'd advise not to do it unless you will definitely be using cisco kit as much of it is based around the CLI, which is not used outside of Cisco kit. It does give a good grounding in the fundamentals, but Comptia N+ will do that just as well.
  19. Yeah its a royal pain. Only worth a name change if you migrate servers...perhaps a summer project?
  20. viceralnephilim if anyone feels generous
  21. If you do want to rename a domain, use RENDOM, but be prepared for anything that is 3rd party to break.
  22. I will for home, but for work, it remains to be seen what server 2016 is going to be bringing to the table.
  23. Is there a powershell that I can see who is on an archive structure, what length teh archiving is, and if anybody isn't on one, then to put people onto an archive automatically, that archives anything over 6 months old? We have a large volume of users and I really do not want to do it manually. User X has 3 month archiving, but needs changing to 6 months. User Y has 1 year archiving, but needs changing to 6 months. User Z has no archiving, and needs putting on to 6 months.
  24. Over the last month I've hit close to 90GB...but thats mainly just gaming and youtube. If I buy a film on sky or download some games etc, then it shoots up. Xbox usage seems to make it go up very quickly.
  25. Yeah I have a Draytek here, and BT are blaming the draytek (despite the fact that I have a redundant Virgin Fibre line that it works on with the appropriate IP changes). Its most definitely a BT issue.
