  1. Same here too all 3 sites.
  2. I used the form and got our Eligibility key for 3 different schools however when I enter it into SIMS it doesn't work. So I assume their licence server is actually down.
  3. We got that email too. I assume it’s been sent to all customers using Education Pro
  4. We use Smoothwall too, at renewal we did look at other companies but found Smoothwall was the best in terms of filtering since it's made for education
  5. Is that URL in one of the categories listed on this page?
  6. My interpretation of it when spent months helping Impero support is that Impero Service Starter checks that ImperoClientSVC and ImperoGuardianSVC are started, if they are not then it will start them. However those 3 services all running at the same time sometimes caused the ImperoClientSVC service to fail to start, we and Impero found that across our 4 environments that disabling the Guardian service solved the problem in pretty much all instances.
  7. We haven't had any issues on 24H2. Although we did used to have issues with the Impero service not starting, we now rarely have this issue at all since we've done the following ( I wrote this before on a different forum) : We did have the problem of machines showing offline on Impero and unable to communicate with the Impero Server, it was down to the ImperoClientSVC service failing to start. Since we've rolled out what seems now a permanent 'hotfix' I don't think this issue occurs much at all anymore, now I only see about 1 device every 5/6 months with this issue instead of multiple devices not working daily. We created a GPO that disables the ImperoGuardianSvc service, we had ImperoServiceStarter originally disabled too so if there are still devices experiencing the issue disabling both should help.
  8. We use Impero Education Pro and couldn't live without it - yes it's pretty old, on prem server and wouldn't use it as a filtering product (we use Smoothwall and love that too) but from a classroom management, safeguarding and IT support tool it suits all of our needs.
  9. Hi you can do this by going to network > Smoothwall Access Then creating a policy from the source IP you specify then web-based admin on HTTPS (441) then set the action to allow
  10. Hi I'm looking for some advice, been trying to do this since November and starting to pull my hair out. Been looking on the forum to see anyone had fixes but haven't seen any yet so thought to ask myself. I know people are going to say don't capture images however in our case we haven't really got that option at the moment - we have some software doesn't like being not sysprep'd. Before we moved to build and capture images it used to take us over 3 hours using a original ISO then installing applications and updates in the task sequence now using build and capture takes us around 35 minutes for a device to be ready to use. This has worked fine for us when we first started using it in Windows 10 20H2, then Windows 11 22H2 and 23H2 however on 24H2 after the image has sysprep'd it gets stuck on Just a moment for around 10 minutes then reboots with Hello there, and why did my PC restart. I've looked at logs and found nothing out of the ordinary. MECM 2409 with 24H2 WinPE boot images. I've tried taking everything out of our capture image other then the default (even removed the unattend.xml) however no joy. Has anyone experienced this or have suggestions to fix other than not capturing. I've tried every base image 24H2 English International ISO Microsoft has released however they all error. I got desperate and tried to automating it up until Prepare Configuration Manager Client, after that step manually running sysprep which runs fine but still causes the Why did my pc restart message. Any advice would be great thanks
  11. Thanks, I did take a look at classwize but unfortunately we use Impero EdPro for a lot more than just Classroom management which is why we'd struggle to find another solution to do what it did unless we moved to having multiple different products doing each aspect. From my demo personally it isn't anything as a school that we are currently after, they've seemed to move away of being a tool that does classroom management and remote support into being more of a primarily safeguarding and filtering product which we already have both of these in place and are unlikely to change any time soon. The new product is a lot like the Impero Backdrop product with isn't something we're interested in. We were assured though that EdPro isn't going anywhere anytime soon as it's still one of the few tools that does classroom/monitoring/remote support that still has a lot of customers and fits our use case exactly. Until they add all of the features EdPro offer onto their new product I can't see them EOL'ing EdPro as my opinion would just be pushing all of their customers to another solution. All my opinions though, other schools might find it fits their needs if they're purely after a safeguarding and filtering solution.
  12. Sure after my demo will let you know what I think. Would also be interested if they offer it separate as we already use Smoothwall which we're more than happy with. We just want similar feature set as EdPro
  13. We're long time users of Impero Education Pro and have been very happy with the product, has it's issues but overall does exactly what we want it to. They seem to be pushing StudentKeeper at Bett and we now have a demo with them next week. What's anyone else opinion on the new product, have you seen it or had a demo as I haven't seen it mentioned anywhere other than themselves? Their new Ativion website is very basic and doesn't give much insight to what the product does or offers and whether it's a replacement to EdPro or not. Thanks!
  14. We use Impero Education Pro and have support until 2027 so hoping they still update it. We really like using EdPro as found it was only of the only products that did everything we wanted all within 1 software / console. We tried looking at other software but didn't find anything with the same functionality. They are still offering it as a demo on their new site https://www.ativion.com/contact-us/ so I assume they are still selling it to new customers. All of Impero / Ativion new products doesn't seem to appeal to us at all doesn't do much of what EdPro does. They seem to be trying to push ContentKeeper with all their other products (other than EdPro) which we don't want since we already have filtering and are happy with it.
  15. If they are will be interested what it'll be, hoping similar to EdPro. If they do might have to go to Bett too to see if it's any good. Hopefully they'll continue supporting EdPro too
  16. I really hope they don't discontinue Education Pro - we heavily rely on it and are looking to get it for more schools within our trust. We got told the same that it will be within the Ativion portfolio. There isn't really any other solutions that can do what Education Pro can do.

Did you use their email on their website, their email address has an mistake in it - it reads [email protected] but should be [email protected] I did report to them that their email address on their website is wrong, they acknowledged it but didn't seem to update the website. I heard back from them in July but haven't emailed them since. Thanks
  18. We brought a bunch of stone laptops and PCs during lockdown as they were the only ones we could get stock of (we are primarily HP), we've now taken all of the stone laptops out of staff circulation as had a load of issues with the batteries dying (about 90% of the batteries in the Stone Book Lites had their batteries replaced but they still had issues after too - support was great however). We had a both Stone Book Pros and Lites in terms of laptops but our staff personally complained about them all the time so we went back to HPs for both laptops and PC and staff don't complain anywhere near as much anymore. Maybe we just got a bad batch of PCs and Laptops during lockdown I'm not too sure.
  19. We've asked them this same question before, unfortunately NetSupport doesn't offer that functionality
  20. Hi, Since the latest August 2024 Windows 11 update there is a new 'feature' when users try to sign out or lock their PC. Lock has since moved to power options and to Sign Out (which most students and staff will use) is now hidden between another menu attached where you need to press the burger menu, staff struggled to sign out as it was but now its even more hidden. Has anyone found a way to disable this prompt and go straight to Sign Out? Thank you! We're running Windows 11 Education 22H2
  21. As far as I'm aware UE-V 2.1 that goes end of support in 2026 is the one that comes with the Microsoft Desktop Optimization Pack, not the one that is built into Windows 10/11 Education. That's what I've been lead to believe anyway. We still use UE-V as Enterprise State Roaming doesn't roam what we need it to.
  22. Hi sorry for not replying to previous messages I didn't know I had a reply. Yeah we have 2 separate folders and GPOs for the UEV-Templates with the only main difference being the DesktopSettings.xml just so they load the respective xmls for the OS. We didn't use a WMI filter as we already had 2 separate OUs for Windows 10 and 11 but I'm sure a WMI filter would work too. The User UEV Storage directory is the exact same for Windows 10 and 11 (so all of the other UEV settings carry on roaming) as they only apply the ones they have the templates for. Our DesktopSettings has been heavily modified from the standard but the only part that will need to be changed is the ID. As seen in 2nd screenshot we have 1 SettingsPackages folder and within that it has the DesktopSettings and DesktopSettingsW10. Yeah the office 2016 XMLs work for Office 2019, 2021,365 and I assume 2024 when its released. Here is a screenshot of our example. Hope it makes sense, any questions let me know - I've turned notifications on now.
  23. We had this issue when we had a mixture of Windows 10 and 11 clients, the way we got around it was to have 2 separate UE-V Templates folders for Windows 10 and 11 and change the DesktopSettings.xml ID in the Windows 10 folder to DesktopSettingsW10 so it wouldn't try and use the same start settings in Windows 11.
  24. We had SIMS next gen deployed to us 2 weeks ago as it was added to our existing package but still can't get it to work fully. Everytime we 'create' a new user from on premise SIMS to the cloud version which is a pain in itself, we currently haven't had anyone be able to access it without first contacting support and getting them to fix something in the backend for every user we create.
