have you tried creating a playlist and then make an autorun file?

a load of powered usb hubs, and a pretty good USB bus, probbably USB 3.0 would be up to the job. seems like something no one is willing to do unless they have frizzy white hair and a car that travels back in time.

hi forum really need the batch command script that lets you copy a network profile form a server to the local dektop machines on startup copying from \\server1\profiles\students to C:\Profiles\Students its called xcopy or something. thanks.

I have already got a great deal of knowledge and experience although i have only worked in IT for a year. I have always been able to pick things up really quick and adapt into them. I am aware that i am one of the highest achievers in my college and having only just past my first MCDST exam today with a mark of 862. I do believe some of it is rushed but it depends upon how much knowledge you walked in with and how easy you find it to follow along, although I know a lot of people have dropped the course because they just found it too intense! The CompTIA A+ is concentrated on more than any of the exams which i studied for three months before taking the exam whereas the MCDST only got a 5 weeks for study. I find what they have created is very benificial for people like me and i'm happy i found it. because without it i would be having to pay £1,000's to gain these qualifications elsewere. But here it is all free as its part of a goverment innititive to get more qualified I.T people into work.

I was having the exact same brain wave the other day! I'm currently looking for a job after leaving college, and i want to work in a role in a school supporting ICT. The drawback to the internet is you have to search every single job site available is to narrow it down and even then you dont necaserrily get job postings to match what your looking for. With a specialist site for just educational technical jobs only would make a great tool for new comers and also current techies who are always on a look out for a new job. It would be also good to include filters so you can select the county, location, sector (primary, secondary.. ect) I believe this would be a great addition to the site, its users and overall the general public. Come on EduGeek!!

Ok so i am leaving college soon were i started in september of 2009 to achieve my CompTIA A+ Certificate, CompTIA Network + (Training Only), and my MCDST and MCP also whilst studying I have achieved an NVQ For IT Professionals and Practitioners and an Advanced Diploma for IT Professionals (ADITP)... Quite a lot for five months of work! Now has come the time for me to find a job (as the academy say thier job isnt finnished until they have found me a job:rolleyes:), I have worked as an ICT Technician apprentice for a year prior to attending college, this was a role based in primary schools within lancashire, I really enjoyed it! and i really want to work in education again! What I really want to know is what's it like working in high schools? as this is the area i'm looking into and have already made applications into a few high schools surrounding me. What's the work like? and has anybody taken on anybody straight from college before? How did they find it? Also, if you know of any good ICT Technician jobs going i would LOVE to know about them too! Generally in the Preston, Leyland, Chorley area.. Thanks, Adam

Here is the situation.. we are running a Windows 2003 Enterprise Edition 64-Bit server.. and our domain controller is a 32-bit standard edition windows server 2003 > we have installed exchange 2007 and are having problems with getting mail to send and recieve.. i am aware this is due to dns and our old system was running on a external mail server with some hosting provider.. > i have full access to the external dns server from our web host. and the internal server/domain controller. the mail server is mail.domain-name for smtp and pop i am just wondering what records need to be added on either end. your help would be much apreciated.. We are quite happy with the netgear system as all our infrastructure has netgear written all over it.. and i like them for their support also i think ruckus is rather expensive... last time i checked anyway..

I've been asked by the I.T Manager today to think over the holidays of any sytems i would like in place to help me do my job easier.. i work in a primary school with 9 classrooms, an ICT Suite, Laptop Suite and 3-4 desktops in each classroom. All staff with school laptops also.. The network is running on a typical primary school win2k3 server domain.. Active directory, dns ect.. we also have an 8 access point netgear wireless controller system in place.. if you were asked this question what would you go for... i am very interested in a ghosting system.. let me know your ideas also what ghosting solutions do you have in place at your schools that work well?

i think i would just have another facebook account just for work purposes IF it "ever happened" lol

Just got 6 new computers in the reception class, been there for about a week now and teachers are complaining that sound isnt loud enough on the monitors. so they have asked if i could order some headphones which are pretty much CHILDPROOF. as all the old ones snapped and got broke. (Cheap Plastic Things) so does anyone know of any GOOD qaulity headphones that are ideal for small children and are at a resonable price? Thanks.
