Hi Vik, Yes I did, will respond to them over the weekend if thats ok. As per Plexers' post I am a little busy this week
-
Once the email has been polled it is removed and either logged as a new request, updated if it already exisits, or put in to a holding area as the sender is unknown and will await an admin to authorise it. Have you logged onto the POP3 account to see if anything is in there?
-
Yeah you should not set the support email address and the reply to email address as the same as this will cause a loop, good to see it is now working for you.
-
Single sign on is on the roadmap but has not been added to this release as other things have taken priority. There are lots more stats including average response times, calls opened, calls closed, users online etc. What have you not been able to get working with POP3? There is nothing really to setup other provide a username, password, and server name for the POP3 server.

Yeah we are, just tweaking the Room Booker and we are good to go, should be a day or two at the most.

There is nothing special about the MLH database so it will run on SQL 2000 upto 2008R2. The only issue you WILL have is if the database in on a different serverv than the MLH website, you will then need to enable remote connections on the SQL Server - This will help with that: OP Software Support Centre :: Knowledge Base

As Edu-IT has pointed out it is slated for October 2011 and is pretty much on course for the release. Printer Stock Control and remote management is in New more intuative and streamlined interface is in More Asset management features are in Room / resource booking (with support for 2 week timetables) in almost in, final testing now being carried out onsite with BETA schools New Network Management tools are in and much more. Yes it been quiet but its also been busy

Plexer is correct. This was written a long while ago using older technology and has been redevolped from scratch using new up to date tech and fully integrated in to the OP SmartDesk software.

As has been mentioned on this thread already - OP SamrtDesk will do all you ask including Live@Edu. If you host the software internally then proxies should not be an issue OPSD will be sent emails out to users with accounts on live@edu and (if you setup a dedicated helpdesk inbox) will poll, create or update support incidents too. OPSD does indeed run on IIS6 and above and use SQL Server 2005 or above as the database backend. OP SmartDesk is so much more than just a helpdesk though, the Sept 2011 release will include the following on top of the standard helpdesk and asset manager: - Printer Management including stock / consumable tracking and remote printer status updates and email notifications - Room / Resource Manager including 2 week timetable support and SIMS import - Logon tracker and user password reset tool In the pipline is a complete network manager providing server / switch / network node monitoring right down to server service and switch port with email and SMS notifcations. OPSD has been developed for schools and as a result of direct feedback from schools and user on this very forum Give me a shout if you need any more ionformation or wnat to setup a no obligation trial.

You cannot at the moment, this link was broken in the last update to make way for some changes to the asset manager itself. The link is restored back in the Sept 2011 release.
-
Initially timetables will be exported from SIMS or input manually so we would have to see where in the process the limitation could be added if at all.
-
You are correct
-
It will be user configurable
-
Like this idea
-
Yeah this has been asked by a few people already and has been added for inclusion in the Sept 2011 release.
-
BETA is out BETA Testers can get it from here: OP SmartDesk Forums There is alot to test in this one so time to get your heads down As usual let us know how you get on in the testers forum.
-
About 60%, the idea is to have it all in the Sept 2011 release so over the next few BETAs these will start to come in. I'll get the roadmap updated later today. 2 week timetable and revamped room booker will be in next BETA after todays release.
-
Just finishing stock control for printers and sorting update scripts. BETA will include the following: - Complete Print Management Solution - Remote Control and Status via SNMP - Complete new front end user interface - New file / media managers for incident file attachment and knowledge base - Reworked knowledge base with articles being linked to tags and tag cloud being used for fast access to articles. - Network management via SNMP - Whole heap of other feature requests and updates.

Out on the 6-6-2011

Yep that was the change in the config file, it is a non user updateable setting i.e. it is used internally by the software itself. in answer to your points above: 1 - We have never been able to replicate this however the file upload facility is removed in the next version in favour of a new image / file manager that creates user specific folders for incidents and allows the user to manage thier folders as well as admins. This is in BETA now and is released to testers tomorrow. 2 - Can you explain how you are making the changes? 3 - Its called projector.aspx
-
Any data that you place in will still be there and available even if you change the field or remove it totally. This applies to both incident and asset management custom fields.
-
Ben, is correct however for the next release you will be able to remove them without causing data issues :-)
-
Single sign on is coming but this requires some reworking of the security layer of the software and as such has caused us some issues. We are actively working towards inclusion of this for the September release but i'll keep you posted.

Just added SNMP support for printer management that will allow for real-time status view for added printers i.e. paper jam, online / offline, toner levels (CYMK) and much more. Now looking into a way to provide basic remote printer management i.e. restart / reset printer, clear queues etc. All you will need to do is find the relevant MIB for your printer (vendors support site is generally best) and away you go.
