I use my personal gaming laptop for work so would love an actual machine I didn't have to lug about with me to and from work. I had a stellar gaming PC but a capacitor in the mobo blew and took the CPU with it. Got this laptop about half price through work, and paid for it using the left over components. Specs: i5-7300HQ 4x2.5GHz 8GB DDR4 GTX 1050 128GB M.2 SSD 1TB 7200RPM HDD 1 puny battery that dies after 15 mins

[sims] Urgent Capita SIMS Data Issue - Issued by childrens services
UNCL3LARRY replied to vikpaw's topic in MIS Systems
Just ignore it, the script simply checks to see if everything looks okay, as far as I am aware there are no flags. we had an issue where it saw an "incorrect" address, and the proposed address was the exact same as the "incorrect one" -
Sorry for the delay, yes I have, the video works through HDMI even when the screen is off whilst in Legacy mode.
-
I've checked them all but they all talk about the screen not working whatsoever, whereas the screen does work but only in UEFI, but it won't boot anything in UEFI even though it should.
-
I said that in the original post; If I boot up the laptop in Legacy mode it will start up but the laptops screen won't display, although it will output through the graphics port
-
In UEFI it will boot the BIOS but no drives, usb or network connections, in Legacy it works fine except from the screen not displaying
-
The new screen lights up as long as it is in UEFI mode, but then the OS wont boot. It says Acer, then says "Boot system not found". I'm out of office atm but I will take photo's next time I am there. Not sure if the battery was removed, but its unlikely it would boot one way and not the other if it was due to hardware error.

Hi all, Got a weird one for you, I have a laptop that had a damaged screen and was replaced. Now the laptop won't boot. If I boot up the laptop in Legacy mode it will start up but the laptops screen won't display, although it will output through the graphics port, but if I boot in UEFI it will not see an OS, or boot from USB or Network. I have tried reinstalling windows, and low level formatting the drive and installing a fresh copy of windows for VLSC, but with no luck. Can anyone give me any suggestions? Cheers!

I am going to reinstall windows now and see what happens, wish me luck
-
Yes it is, just not Windows

It does spin, my other drives work fine. I will try taking out a couple of other drives first and having another try UPDATE: I unplugged my other 2 3.5" drives, still doesn't pick up my drive. Added my entire system specs are in original post.

Hi all, This is a strange one for you all. I have a 2TB WD Green HDD, I took it out of my PC to use elsewhere, did what I needed to then brought it back home. When I plug it into my PC it doesn't detect it in Device Manager, Disk Management or anything. I took it back to where I used it, it sees it fine with no issues. I low level formatted it, smart tested it and it came back all clear. I took it back home again, still nothing. Tried new SATA cables, new SATA power cable, new SATA socket in my mobo that I know works. If I start to reinstall windows it picks up the drive as normal. Anyone have any suggestions, completely stumped. Thanks in advance! EDIT: System specs below Gigabyte F2A85XM-HD3 Mobo 16GB Corsair Vengeance Gigabyte NVidia GTX 970 AMD A8 5600K Quad Core 3.GHz CPU Corsair 750M PSU PNY 128GB SSD Samsung Evo 128GB SSD 2x 2.5" 750GB drives in RAID 0 (1 WD, 1 Seagate) 2x 3.5" 1TB drives in RAID 1 (1 Toshiba, 1 WD) And hopefully by the end of this thread a WD 2TB too!!

Just an update to close off this thread. One of the HDDs died in it, so we decided to replace it instead of trying to maintain and old unit. We now have a Cobra 16CH DVR with all the trimmings.

Hi all, I am having a bit of trouble with our DVR, I have never used it as it has been happily running for longer than I have been here (About 10-12 years I believe)- or so I thought. I went to access the footage on there but it constantly reports "No file found"- I am not too interested in the file itself as the issue has now been resolved, but does anybody know how to check it is actually recording and where to? I have checked the manuals online, and I can't seem to find where it is. There is a manual record option but it seems that whenever I turn it on it turns itself off as soon as I exit the menu? I also tried to call their support but I cannot find hide nor hair of their creators, which I believe are LJD Digital, due to the splash screen when I reboot it and the logo in the manual. It is a Colossus 16 DVR, I don't know anything about it other than that.

To anyone with Sharp Printers, How do you dispose of your empties? We had Ricoh up until recently and I had them all recycled, however try as I must I can't find anywhere that recycles Sharp empties.

Hi all, I am getting a strange issue on Apple Config 2, when I try to apply any settings profile to the iPad it says "Recieved an unexpected response from the device. [com.apple.configurator.mobiledevicekit.amd.error - 0xFFFFFFFFE8000013 (-402653165) [sys = 0x3A, sub = 0x0, code = 0x12 (19)]]". Is there anyone who has ever dealt with this error who has any suggestions? P.S. Sorry if this isn't in the right category, I really wasn't sure.

Hi all, We have a little issue in which Google Chrome is trying to open a popup, and I've seen it before, it's the "You must accept these T&C's before using this product", but the popup doesn't load, it just has a spinning circle in the center. Is there a way to edit a settings file, or a registry entry to accept this T&C? Thanks

We have recently contracted PSF for use between our school and 3 other schools, and we are hosting the server. The installation technician we have is an apprentice and gets no support, during the install we have had multiple issues, such as deadlines not being met, him requesting stuff from us last minute, blaming us for stuff he hasn't done, etc. We also had issues during the deployment when he gave us instructions that were missing half of the information, with the instructions we were given we were missing all our reports and information, and pointed the licencing software to the wrong server. I spent 1-1.5 hours on the phone with their support to find out I needed to edit a hidden .ini file from "2" to "1", and to copy a folder from our server to the clients root C: drive. The other 3 school still don't work so we have had to set up 3 VM's with it running on for them to connect to with RDP. The general mood for the software itself is great, the staff using it are really happy with it, they recently had a plugin installed for budgeting, so it seems very versatile. Got a PSF technician coming in this week to do some "final touches" (i.e. fixing the damn thing), and I swear if they start pushing my buttons you might just see me on the news...

Ricoh Printer - Counter Duration/Last Reset
UNCL3LARRY replied to UNCL3LARRY's topic in How do you do....it?
Well, we have 2 C5110s's, another model roughly the same, and a B&W version of the same, when we could easily get away with using the other 2. We also get quoted for 3 million prints per printer every 3 months, whereas in 2 years we have printed around 500,000 at each printer. Alongside these we also have 4 Konica Minolta C35P's, and this is all for ~100 staff members, and ~700 students. EDIT: One of the C5110s's is for staff, one is for Repro, the similar model is in the main office, and the B&W is also for staff. -
Hi all, At the school I work in we are trying to build up a case against the people who sold us the printers in that we were oversold. In order to do this we need an accurate counter list, for this to be accurate we need to find out when the counter list is from. I KNOW it is from when we got the printers, but without physical proof they aren't worth sod all. Does anybody know how, or if, I can get access to that? The printer is a Ricoh C5110s, we have access to Machine Admin, Superviser, and Service Mode if any of that is necessary.
