  1. Sounds like similar behaviour to when a Classroom Owner has been deleted from the system. I'd first check who is the Owner(s) of the affected Classroom(s) and go from there.
  2. The fact that using a hotspot is fixing it for some could sugegst school firewall / filter issue? What's everyone using?
  3. Nothing but problems with Kyocera
  4. I would first check that the OU has the apps enabled. And then also check if app permissions have been configured via group membership.
  5. Ha forgot about Cr being annual, just ignore me, need more sleep lol
  6. True, was thinking more along the lines of saving by not paying for the Cr licence.
  7. You still need to purchase a licence to enrole the devices to manage them via the admin console, which came bundled with the Cloudready Licence when I last purchased them, but the removal of the minimum purchase amount is a good move for those with just a few devices.
  8. Same here but using Chromebits. RE content you do need someone who will keep it updated, but that is the same no matter what system you use. At lease using Google Slides there is no software or process to learn. Worst case just fill it with images.
  9. How do those using this manage 2FA, i understand that USB Keys aren't supported, but having to 2FA each time the machine locks isn't vaiable. Other thak that, worked a treat. First time loggin in said my google password was different from my Local AD, entered the local AD and to changed to match the Google account, seamless.
  10. Still worth staying on Octopus variable rate if you are on it. Just dont look back at your bills from this time last year! Compared to January 2021 fixed tariff cost have increased: Current Variable Rate (soon to increase) Electric Day 36% Electric Night 56% Gas 43% Fixed Rate Electric Day 137% Electric Night 130% Gas 260% Just had an email stating my DD will be increasing fro £80pm to £145 to cover the increase in costs. Add the increase in petrol and thats an exta £140pm or in another way, you'd need a pay increase of around £2500 to cover it.
  11. 2 per desk minimum, but consider the photocopier that will appear once you have done, along with the 7th person who starts using the office. Also prepear for the same number of points on the other side of the room ready when the desks are relocated...
  12. Had already begun moving 3 Primaries over to Arbor prior to the SIMS announcement. The once piece of advice for migrating is make sure everyone involved with attendance is up to speed ready for the go live date.
  13. Securly @Securly_Marc will be able to sort you out a trial that will cover the holiday period.
  14. You must be new to ParentPay.
  15. Echo this too. Have some that are badged isis concepts. Have been perfect for DfE Chromebooks while not needed for remote learning.
  16. Zioxi all day long.
  17. No chance of monthly census submissions. They wouldn't be able to keep up with all the revised filesets each month!
  18. Don't forget to factor in savings for 3rd pary services like messaging, clubs, payments etc that any new MIS could also cover.
  19. If you want something a bit better speced than the 500e, the only real option currently would be the Lenovo ThinkPad C13 Yoga Chromebook, but stock looks thin on the ground and they also suffer with CPU throttling when running on battery.
  20. Yes admin need to make the Admin Console changes, but the google slides file can be owned by aynone. Ours just lives on a shared drive and shared with whoever needs to make changes.
  21. Publish the slide and make a note of the link. Download Chrome Signbuilder and use it to create the schedual and download the json file Make a device OU in Google Workspace. Set kiosk settings to that the Chrome Signbuilder App auto runs on device startup and upload the json file Pop a manged chromebook into the OU Job done Have done this across a number of school, but via Chromebits, now they were perfect for this job
  22. This offer was back in May and ran till end of summer. - https://www.schoolbusinessservices.co.uk/news/mis-switching-to-arbor Admittedly this was Primary only, but once the new year roles round and everyone who is currently running SIMS is then locked in to another 3 years, how are other providers going to get new sign ups? It's as if they are taking advantage of their monopoly status....
  23. If you were already thinking of moving away but hadn't started the process, start it today! There are 5 weeks until the end of term. Think about what your schools managed to do in 5 weeks during the start of the pandemic.
