I have a mailbox on our exchange 2003 server that sent out a large amount of phishing/spam e-mails lastnight. I have sophos installed on the server that covers anti-virus for the OS (server 2003) and Symantec Mail security that scans e-mails and mailboxes so the server should be covered but the only thing I can think of that could cause this is a virus Is there anything I should look at or check to see why these e-mails are being sent? I know LGFL is not an ISP. We also use the Sophos anti-virus provided by LGFL, our current website and a few other things. BT do provide some of these but I would also need to look at getting some services from other companies. This is not something that will definitely happen it's just that the school want to look at other options and if there are any savings that can be made.

The school I work at are thinking of moving away from LGFL and going with BT for their ISP. The school want to stick with Fronter and if possible Fronter via LGFL. Does anyone know if this is possible?

I was also using GenControl but now use Skeep. It does need a client install but it is easy to deploy and use.

I have been looking at upgrading our backup recently and have been trying to decide between Disk or Tape. We currently have a Disk to Disk to Tape setup but the size of the full backup is nearly as big as the capacity of the Tape library. I can get a new tape library with all the tapes I need for around £3,000 or I can buy some external HDD that will do the same thing for £1,000. So I agree that when it comes to cost the HDD is much cheaper We currently use ATI tapes and find the reliability very hit and miss and haven't used a HDD over a long period of time for a backup to be able to compare to this.

We have exchange 2003 and outlook 2007. I have a teacher with a strange problem, all new e-mail that he receives goes directly to his Deleted Items folder. He has not setup any rules for this to happen so I'm not sure were else to look to solve the problem. Is there any where else I can look?

I found where the setting is kept in the reg: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E972-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}\0007] I made a custom reg change and have applied it to a test workstation which worked. So I am going to apply it to the others and see how it goes

There is a setting in the BIOS to enable or disable WOL but this is enabled by default. It's the setting on the NIC driver that is causing the issue

We have a large number of RM ones and they all have the Intel 82567 network cards. By default the NIC is set with PME as disabled so we are unable to use WOL. I know how to go into device manager and change this so that PME is enabled but I don't want to have to do this for all of them, also if the computer is ever rebuilt the setting goes back to default. Does anyone know if I can change the default to be enabled? Or where in the reg this is set? Thanks

The Maths department are chasing us up on getting this working I am running out of ideas The server side and client side software is working. The users can open the software and use most of the resources. The problem is the staff can't open the 461 resource exe files. These exe files are spread out in lots of folders and sub folders so I don't want to have to create a file rule for each file to allow the staff to run them. I have tried creating a path rule ie "\\server\stc\Software\Maths\OxBox\7 Assessment\database\Content\*" but this didn't seem to work. I have also checked the Share and Security permissions but still no luck. Has anyone else got this working? have you got any suggestions?
