no idea how much those HPs are but we use Latitude E6400's at the mo and they are great, pretty bomb proof too (especially with accidental damage cover!)

i have to say i always found it slow too but we only used it for inventory etc occasionally so it didnt matter too much. however now ive installed it on a VM and setup helpdesk etc it is super fast so im dead impressed! ive left it scanning over the holidays but when terms starts ill probably slow it down a bit. watch this space!

just switched today from Sharepoint based to Spiceworks. Installed it on a VM and it runs as a service.

we do this quite a lot on a smaller scale but to 4 or 5 locations via a Panasonic network video camera. Its not perfectly smooth but it does audio and video and is viewed in the web interface. The camera can be controlled remotely too. Probably not exactly what you're after but network cameras might be worth a look.

thats what we do - our techie is part time whilst studying at uni. if the uni is local then dead easy to advertise too!

id get one thats DLP as they don't need filters, as long as you clean it once in a while im sure it will be fine.

We are in the same position... I need a guest network set with proxy settings set automatically if thats possible? I can set an alternative proxy with no AD authentication to avoid that problem.

Not sure if this is a netbook or a laptop but our test machine just rocked up today. I have to say its a pretty neat unit and the screen size is good 11.6" with 1366x768 resolution. We've been waiting on these for a while now as they are the size/weight we wanted with N wireless and the Nvidia ION etc... PC Pro reviewed it today at 5 out of 6 stars. Anyone else looking at them/want me to check anything?

hi mate, Weve had it for about a year now and we really like it. Dont use the movies much but the on demand content is great, TV replay is sweet too as there are no ads! Ocassionaly the stream drops out which is a bit annoying but overall its a great package!

ive got a cable caster which is good fun and worked well for spanning a loft with limited access and going between roofs. I also use a plastic reel and winder for most jobs but the rods you can screw together are excellent too.
