  6. Try increasing your database size, if its getting too large it may dismount. How to increase the Exchange Server 2003 Service Pack 2 18-gigabyte database size limit D
  7. Yep both are BareMetal. "Both the free stand-alone version and the version that is part of the commercial Windows Server 2008 product use a virtualized Windows Server 2008 parent partition to manage the Type 1 Hyper-V hypervisor. In both cases the Hyper-V hypervisor loads prior to the management operating system, and any virtual environments created run directly on the hypervisor, not via the management operating system." D
  8. Excellent that made me chuckkle! But I did meat the bar at the left <--------------- And make one mega UPS, trouble is if you did it in series it would just increase the voltage and blow your systems, however if you put them in paraelle it would just increase the capacity and thus last longer, in theory it should work by just daisy chaining then! Ideas - I have a few old ones I may test this on! Refer to this "Simple" to understand image I found googling! D
  9. Oh dear, is this how its going down today! ;-)
  10. Jees you must be running like a snail there, 60 on one AP is alot even for a well managed wireless network, for a short term, consider buying a second and third AP and split the laptops onto them 20 / 20 / 20 that will ease the issue a little until you can put in place a more robust system. D
  11. That's correct sidewinder, it's all handled as part of the BIOS, newer machines can interface with it just as they can with a UPS. Thanks for the rep Matt, I love it when my little green bar thing gets bigger! D
  12. Correct, ESX will perform better as it is bare metal, I use both an don't really have a preference, they both do the job they were made for. D
  13. Hirens every time its an absolute life saver for all occasions! Its like bubble wrap it has 1000's of uses! D
  14. I would imagine if you install it on a machine that has the capability for a redundant psu that the BIOS will handle the change over, not the O/S installed upon it? D
  15. Sorry to hear about your loss Matt, our thought are with you and your family, remeber time is a good healer, you no where to come if you need to chat! LOL
  16. Oh ive got to get one of those built soon!
  17. To change the proxy settings using the regsitry you can use this, just put this code into a .reg document, change it for your setup and import it at logon. Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings] "User Agent"="Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Win32)" "IE5_UA_Backup_Flag"="5.0" "NoNetAutodial"=dword:00000000 "MigrateProxy"=dword:00000001 "EnableNegotiate"=dword:00000001 "ProxyEnable"=dword:00000001 "EmailName"="IEUser@" "AutoConfigProxy"="wininet.dll" "MimeExclusionListForCache"="multipart/mixed multipart/x-mixed-replace multipart/x-byteranges " "WarnOnPost"=hex:01,00,00,00 "UseSchannelDirectly"=hex:01,00,00,00 "EnableHttp1_1"=dword:00000001 "PrivacyAdvanced"=dword:00000000 "ProxyServer"="proxy.name.com:port" "ProxyOverride"="" "EnableAutodial"=dword:00000000 "PrivDiscUiShown"=dword:00000001 [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main] "NoUpdateCheck"=dword:00000001 "NoJITSetup"=dword:00000001 "Disable Script Debugger"="yes" "Show_ChannelBand"="No" "Anchor Underline"="yes" "Cache_Update_Frequency"="Once_Per_Session" "Display Inline Images"="yes" "Do404Search"=hex:01,00,00,00 "Local Page"="C:\\WINDOWS\\system32\\blank.htm" "Save_Session_History_On_Exit"="no" "Show_FullURL"="no" "Show_StatusBar"="yes" "Show_ToolBar"="yes" "Show_URLinStatusBar"="yes" "Show_URLToolBar"="yes" "Start Page"="http://www.google.co.uk" "Use_DlgBox_Colors"="yes" "Search Page"="http://www.google.co.uk" "NotifyDownloadComplete"="yes" "FullScreen"="no" "Window_Placement"=hex:2c,00,00,00,02,00,00,00,03,00,00,00,ff,ff,ff,ff,ff,ff,\ ff,ff,ff,ff,ff,ff,ff,ff,ff,ff,80,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,d8,02,00,00,94,01,00,\ 00 "Use Search Asst"="no" "Use FormSuggest"="yes" "AddToFavoritesExpanded"=dword:00000000 You can use regedit /s and then the location of the reg file to import at logon. 18. Depending on the options you go for with the Eternus your throughput will vary if you invest and go for the Fibre Attached and SSD disk option you will be running very quickly. Likewise if you go with iSCSI and normal 7200k disks it will still be very quick. We use ours for running VHD disks and file storage and have neer noticed any speed issues even when running full blask ahead. If you were wanting it to last I'd opt for the SSD and Fibre Attached Options, good thing is they are easily scailable too, if you find you need more storage just purchase a new one and plonk it on the top and plug him in! D
  19. We use Fujitsu Eternus DX 90 - ETERNUS DX90 There are lower models avaialable as this is currently the "King" of the Eternus range. All in all they are good, resonably prices and easy to install and manage, they come with iSCSI and Fibre Attaches, also if you ever have any disk or controller failures, fujitsu support is excellent I find for swapping out components next or even same day. D
  20. This should do the trick? "VBoxManage clonehd source.vdi target.vhd --format vhd"
  21. Excess traffic on your network, get wireshark installed and have a peek inside. Could be broadcast packets or could just be a loopback? D
  22. Did it all work alright in the end Albert?
  23. All is now well, I had to run malwarebytes 5 times in windows safe mode before it didn't fine anything nasty. Damn the people who create these things! D
  24. Just what I don't need on an afternoon, sat on the phone talking a client through an install looking at a blank server screen, all is rosy and working well. SUDDENLY a whole load of things start installing, malware doctor, anti virus doctor, and icss-online fraud detector and then sophos starts to uninstall, task manager gets disabled and im locked out my server. ICPP Copyright Foundation is Fake - F-Secure Weblog : News from the Lab Pull, Pull and Pull all 3 nics I have in there, restart and run malware bytes, and thats where I am now! Woe is me, my email server is suddenly D
  25. Try GParted, i've use it before, even on DC's and it works fine. D
