  1. It's freeware, so I would imagine there would be no implaications with licensing, although saying that AVG do no allow use of their free program in schools. D

  3. Wlecome Out of Sync, you must be new :-) hope you enjoy your stay. Im glad I installed AntiVir now. Malwarebytes got me out of a problem with one of our server the other day where we had spyware software installed that was stopping us logging onto the machine.
  4. Agreed, this is a very worrying article, imagine how the pupils and familys must feel, this is not the kind of advert we want for Educational IT Staff. D
  5. I changed from AVG to AntiVir last night and found a virus in a zip archive on my storage drive! Way to go AntiVir! D

  10. No, I don't think so, I've changed it in my profile to "on" and it is now working, it was previously at "off".
  11. Yes on the machine, not the server, I would imagine you or your admin would have to logon and do the "DOS" stuff. D

  13. Backup Exec Tape fairies and their magic pixie dust? ;-) No seriously do you do a verify of your tapes after the backup, it might not be working, even though it looks like it is? D
  14. Is it just me but is the time wrong on Edugeek? I get this at the bottom of the page, I make it 03:10 PM. All times are GMT. The time now is 02:10 PM. D

  17. I've changed my post since then, looking back it was kind of ambiguous. This was the origional "It seems like a good idea, but I think this one is alot safe and easier!" I actully ment the one I had quoted above, it read that I meant my idea when I didn't. I like this idea as well, can't imagine why you still get them left if you have audio and visual warning to remove them.
  18. I haven't managed to find anything about this, it must be something to do with character encoding. The only thin I have found is:- Close Internet Explorer Copy two files (dhtmled.ocx and triedit.dll) from c:\programs files\common files\microsoft shared\triedit into c:\windows\system32 open command prompt cd c:\windows\system32 regsvr32 dhtmled.ocx regsvr32 triedit.dll D
