I do a fair bit. Do not invest anything you cannot afford to lose and do not invest small amounts. I find due to fee’s it’s very hard to make a profit on £500 and less. You also need to get used to large drops if you invest long term. Same days you can lose £1000’s or £10,000’s only for it to bounce back. Share prices tend to zig zag not move in a straight line up or down.

It sort of makes sense as there is a lot of major technology due out in around 6 months. They either need to delay now and go over a year without a new product or have a minor refresh now and product in 6months. That or skip 6 months and fall massively behind in tech.

My guess is an SGX543MP4 GPU with a Mhz boost on top. That or the 544 but I fail to see why they would need that as the only real diffrence between a 543 and 544 is DirectX support. I still hope it will contain a series 6 chip, will be amazing if it does but it’s a little too early for that.

I find that makes it really hard to multitask and swap between what you want. Not only do apps/windows you want to swap back to get randomly turned off as you load new ones up. But the ones you no longer want get in the way of swapping to what you do want. What if you do not want the app suspended but running in the background? How does that work.

My understanding is the biggest drop in bulb lifespan is turning them off and on. Wouldn’t turning them off x2 for 10minet break per day cause the life span to drop a lot? Pretty should our projector bulbs manuals warn about turning them off then on within the same hour. Instead the manual says leave them turned on and only turn them off if they will not be used for hours.

As I understand it only the mobile netbook chips have been pushed back. The desktop chips should be mostly on time.

Starter edtions have no domain support. I would class 1gig as the minimum, not inadequate as it will work but not ideal.

Speaking about connections and packages are Learning platforms still mandatory? Is it ok to no longer use one?

I know how you feel; I am shortly due to get 120mb at home yet 20seconds walk away our secondary school is on 10mb. Which in my mind is crazy. Many say but School has a symetric connection but how is that a plus point when you get 100/10 or 120/12 at home against 10/10 at work? Plus I find the home connection depending on users in my area fluctuates less than the school connection and the home connection has way more uptime. I understand the extras like proxy & email along with the others but why can school connections not at least match mobile connation speeds, yet alone what I can get at home? Schools do get extra services and e-safty but unless I missed it no one has explained why School connections have to be so slow more so for the price you pay. Surely school connections for use over 100’s of devices should not be lagging behind in speed over mobile phone connections used for one device and should not be over 10x slower than home connections again used for a handful of devices.

I really do not understand why people say that when often like in the phones and tablets the specs are a year ahead of everyone else which is anything but oudated. Just look at the Ipad2 which after a year is still the fastest tablet GPU by a large amount. The Iphone4s is well over twice the graphics speed of any other phone today, in fact the Iphone4s has more graphics power then any current tablet let alone other phones. EDIT: The GPU is in many ways the most important specs now they are GPGPU's and run some types of software better then the CPU. More and more software like the UI and web browser are being moved onto the GPU over CPU.

It starts this March/April on a rolling system throughout 2012 till mid 2013. The email I got said my upgrades are due March/April 2012. I guess I got lucky.

As I understand it there are two phase’s. Phase 1 is 50Mb -> 100Mb 100Mb -> 120Mb Phase 2 is 50Mb -> 120Mb which is why 120MB are getting the bill reduced to the 50MB package.

Great soon I will have more than x10 faster download at home over my school and more upload then school . Why can the county not match or beat Virgin connections?

ESS seems easy to manage but when I last looked it cost a lot more. You are basically buying all your licences every year. Which can work out cheaper on upgrade years but the way I look at is in none upgrade years like between 2007 and 2010 we would pay zero or a small amount for new machines, far less than ESS. I guess its not the same situation for everyone.

Can more then one person jump at once? Still when you put it like you have that seems like a lot of people even with 2 or 3 jumping at once. Surely they most have lost some days due to weather and other reasons.

Why wouldn’t it be? It’s been safe for the past 10years so the odds seem very good to me that it will be safe for the next 10 years. Perhaps longer if they now check the cord more often. Of course its odds so its not 100% safe but about as safe as you can get at 1 in half a million. EDIT: Isn’t that better odds then most medication people wouldn’t think twice about taking.

Am I missing something or did I mess up the math? What is so funny? 50,000 jumps per year for 10 years = 500,000 over the event lifetime. One incident in 10 years = 1 in 500,000 jumps.

I have to admit everyone I have spoken to hates RM but we have had nothing but good experience with them. The price is not always the best but the customer’s service has been excellent for us. One of our RM’s failed and what impressed me were no stupid questions on the phone, they accepted my diagnosis and sent an engineer out first thing the next morning with parts to fix the PC. This is without spending extra on support contracts, we just buy base units off them. It’s rare I need RM’s help but when I have the support staff have been excellent.

The old testament ones I read as I was curious one day and flicked though in RE. The new testament ones I was told about by friends who are into religion studies and goggled them to check. But I agree this isn't the place to discuss the bible it always go badly. I am not really looking for an argument so will step out now. As you say this isn't the place.

It said you should kill and take slaves. “Now therefore kill every male among the little ones, and kill every woman that hath known man by lying with him. But all the women children, that have not known a man by lying with him, keep alive for yourselves.” I assume little ones it boys. Even the new testament has some pretty bad bits. Wasn’t is Matthew 19:29 where Jesus says abandon home & family to follow him so you can get into haven. Or Matthew 10:24-27 where Jesus say he hasn’t came for peace but to sword and to make family’s hate each other. Luke 14:26 Jesus says you have to hate your family; children or you cannot be his disciple. The bible is full of stuff like that as far as I can see. That or I just have a really bad interpreted version.

I am no bible expert, I just opened up the Old Testament and started reading and was shocked at show how bad the bible is. As far as I am aware it’s not down to interpretation it flat out says some of these things clearly. I don’t really understand the difference’s between the Testament’s. By why would someone of faith ignore half the bible? Surly you follow it all or none?

It sounds to me like he did read the bible. Normally I don’t like to get involved in religious threads but it was only yesterday I read parts of the bible and came across, rape, murder, slaves and various other horrible things that it said was ok for people of Christianity faith to do. If the bible came out today I strongly believe it would get a ban due to the horrible content. EDIT: For example at Numbers 31:15-18 Mosses pretty much said go kill all the men even the innocent ones, kill every woman that’s not a virgin even the married ones and take all the virgin as slaves to rape and do what you like with. 22:28-29 says it’s ok to rape a woman and pay to take her as your wife. The bible is not a present read.
