Over the Summer Holiday, we upgraded our phone system and now have about - at least - 70 Avaya IP Office phones of which we are about to throw away. Before we do, are these of any use to anyone else? This may be a stupid question, but have your DCs got a network/internet connection Are all the relevant services running? Have you tried rebooting the main DC again. Have you tried running an IPConfig /all from your DC & Clients?

Hi All, I can confirm that a definition update resolves the issue, I have manually downloaded it and pushed it out via SCCM to the entire network for the fastest possible results. https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/wdsi/defenderupdates Downloading the relevant version from the above link and running is how to force it if Windows Update doesn't pick it up / you want to try it my way. When you run it, it'll look like nothing has happened. Give it 5 mins and then restart it and It shall work Charlie

2 more machines here have been fixed by Windows update. Interestingly, I also get this in Windows Defender

I've done complete Windows updates on 1 machine so far which seems to of resolved the issue I'll keep you posted, does someone else want to try this too?

Hi, Has anyone else noticed that the "This user added That User to the team" notification has stopped working? Is this causing issues for anyone else with regards to tracking who was added to a team?

Hi All, Did anyone get any further with this? We experience this issue when we switch one of our old 2008 DCs off. We also tried to setup a brand new HAP Server running 10.6 and this server has the exact same issue. If you set the permissions to "All" then it works fine. If you set it to anything on the Domain then it breaks. LDAP is on the new 2019 domain controller. I think I've worked it down to being an issue with the Domain Controllers rather than a HAP issue. Any support on this would be quite useful as we are relying on HAP heavily for remote learning,

I cant see a Hapcongif.xml file? Where am I looking for this?

Good morning all, We're trying to demote our old domain controller (Which I will call DC-OLD for this) however whenever we turn the server off, no one can access their folders, you get an error message at the top-left that says "Something went wrong". Users can still log in and authenticate successfully so it must still be connecting to AD somehow. The HAP Server has the new DC as its only DNS Address. Is there something that needs to be changed in the configuration? Thanks in advance for any help! We are stuck. Charlie

Hello, We are trying to use the HUE HD Visualizers in our classrooms to display work on screens. However when connected, and on duplicate the image shows up on the Laptop screen but not on the board. If you "Extend" the display, then the image shows up on the external display. We have tried changing the frame rate to something higher/lower and using VGA instead of HDMI and this still doesn't fix it. Doesn't seem to be an issue in Windows 7 or 8.1, but obviously rolling back to 7 isn't an option. Any help or suggestions would be highly appreciated Charlie The Duston School

Hi All, Thanks for this, we found that an easy way to fix this is to put them into Windows 7 compatibility mode. However, is there an easier way of doing this (perhaps via SCCM or group policy) to change the compatibility mode of that application on all machines, rather than going to 60 machines one by one and changing the setting? I worked in the IT Team for a MAT school a few years ago, which has as much of its services as centralized as possible and I ABSOLUTELY HATED IT !!! For me, I felt it took a large amount of the job's fun bits out. Such as dealing with staff and students more advanced requests, or being able to change things to suit there needs. I enjoy server work at the same time, and being able to do a bit of everything. But this is not possible when you are a technician for a MAT school. I much prefer having a local network or even better, the school remaining as a SAT. MAT's are all about money

Hi All, Anyone else using Pro Desktop with Windows 10 at there schools? Whenever we run it and "extrude" a shape, the software crashes. This happens on all the Design staff machines and all student machines across the school. Any ideas? Charlie

A question that I am quite surprised hasn't been asked already, but what do you do to battle student mice & keyboard damage? A number of things we have tried include; Cable Tie-ing the cables at the back Asking the teachers to remove the mice and keyboards at the end of a lesson Dummy CCTV Cameras (Replaced by actual CCTV cameras "IT Learning Walks" - we would walk round rooms and check behavior etc Sign in/out sheets where a teacher signs to say the room was in OK condition at the start & end of the lesson Any suggestions on what other schools do would be highly appreciated
