Yes which is why I was slightly siding towards HTC! Samsung all well and good but after about a week the touchwiz OS slows down so much it's unreal! And The build quality of the nexus doesn't seem to nice compared to HTC

I'm due an upgrade and seriously undecided! The new HTC one M9 Samsung Galaxy S6 / edge Or maybe a pure Google Nexus 6 (Used Galaxy s3 and Htc one m7 for the past few years) Just wanted people's opinions...

Does anyone have or know of any other software that does the same or similar as policy central? Thanks

I'm sure if I had £250000 I wouldn't spend it on that! Absolutely Ridiculous!

Lantronix Costs around 100 plugs into main cab, and gives air print capabilities to all printers on the network. We use it and it is really simple. Just have to remote in and rename your printers as it displays the Mac I'd instead of printer name. But that's easy enough.

Same as what we had in school Our staff have taken their ipads home and completed it at home and it works fine, There is a long long list of ports and setting you need to get open just to do this in school, But if they take them home they can do It there without problems, only thing I would suggest it maybe create a screenshot of instructions for your staff to follow.

The pupils can buy there own if they need it, but staff have to use encrypted usb's as it has the child's data on them.

If you are after anything like this get in touch with interactive education, they do brilliant screens.

We have gone full cc4.5 server 2012 and win8 whole site, we have got some acer W510 they are a pain in the rear to smart client but if you do decide to upgrade it gives you better options, I would definitely recommend upgrading your server aswell. However we have had an endless game, problems with problems the first few months, with the new kit and OS but it's steady now and it's a lot better

Htc one M7 and Partner has the M8, they are brilliant, definitely upgrading to the M9 this year when it's out!

Toshibas sat pro, I5 4GB DDR get them fitted with SSD that will be plenty for the staff, that's what we use and the staff love them. Not to pricey either, looking at around 400 per unit including and SSD. Have a look on Misco. Connor -

Have you tried adding your proxy setting into the wifi that you are connected to? That's what we have to do, Connect to wifi then go to advanced wifi settings, change the http proxy to manual and put in proxy details and port. -
PaperCut NG and Apple Ipads Printing
ConnorByrne replied to newpersn's topic in How do you do....it?
Give lantronix print server a blast, plug into your main cab let it run, automatically picks up all wireless printers, all you have got to do is remote in and change the name as it comes up with MAC address instead of named printer. But then that makes all printers on the network compatible with ipads. -
That's alright isn't it, I would rather be busy though if I'm honest, try and get something done if I can, if not then have a wonder and make stuff to do as a last resort.

Sounds good but no chance

I'm doing what I've got left to do, which so far is just a bit of paperwork. Waiting for the flood to come.

Yes I've got a VMWARE server running on UPS in the school, backups are completed backed up to cloud and physical drives, Obviously there are a lot more things that just that in the DR I just dont fancy putting it all up on here. Being a large primary school all measures are taken to ensure that everything. God only knows how many pages the plan itself it. Touch wood, we won't have to use it any time soon.
-
I would prioritise DR over that, but everything is in check so far anyway, generally I get a period where I finish all my jobs then when I think I'm on t of things, In waves I get phone calls and more barely legible writing in my job book. To try and decrypt before I can solve the issue!
-
Light eh!? Can't really go into detail on here, but just sum it up, I can ensure you it is not "light"
-
Brilliant, I've got some paperwork to sort out, cheers for that.

Check the servers daily Disaster recover plan. Power goes down, server is hooked up to UPS And I do the a partial network check manually, checking all accounts hard peripherals, VM server etc.... My job book has been signed of completely. Any other suggestions welcome
