Yes Unless I missed it nobody has mentioned a neogeo yet either. My list of consoles (I think in order of when I owned them) and notable games, I still have most of these as well. Atari 2600 C64 - Fiendish Freddy's Bigtop of Fun, I remeber this being a really fun game to play with a group of people. Myth - Awesome platformer at the time but I could never get past the 3rd level. Master System - I only had this for a little while but remember alex the kid. Amiga 1200 - Not technically a console but was used mostly for gaming. So many amazing games. Chaos Engine, Cannon fodder, Settlers. SNES - The best console ever made. Me and my brother in law spent many, many late nights completing Zelda and Super Mario World together. There were a ton of amazing games for this console which are still fun to play today (Star fox, pilotwings, Mario Cart). Also remember the big bazooka like light gun, I still have that. Game Boy - Tetris and Mario stick out in my mind the most but there where quite a few fun games Playstation - Completely mind blowing graphics when it came out and was backed up by an amazing catalog of games. Tomb Raider, Pro Evo Soccer and Grand Tourismo where my favorites. Dreamcast - Saga bass fishing, Crazy taxi and house of the dead were all great fun. Gameboy Advanced - Final Fantasy tactics and SO much emulation stuff. I got ones of these to leave in the car to kill time between jobs and had all the NES,SNES and GB roms on it Playstation 2 - Same as the PSC games Nintendo DS -Same as the GBA except including GBA roms now Xbox 360 - I actually got one of these quite a long time after they were released. I was mostly into PC gaming but picked one up as my nephews had one and wanted me to play online with them. We have gone through about 6 of them in our house now and still have 2 set up ready to go with enough spare parts to keep them running until the end of time. Wii - Honestly the most under used console I have ever owned. Fun for group party games but not found any game on there that I would play by myself. Playstation 3 - Has been played for a total of about 100 hours in the 3 or 4 years we have owned it. My Mrs thought it would be a good idea to get it for our youngest for xmas (there is only 1 game he wanted on it) and it would double up as a bluray player (we don't own a single bluray disk). Xbox one - This is more for my kids then anything (we actually have 2 in the house). I'm actually not impressed with the current gen consoles and given the price I think its better to just build a mid range gaming PC. Wii U - Another one my Mrs got for our youngest this last Christmas. Played the hell out of it for about 3 days and hasn't touched it since. Splatoony and Mario Maker are fun in short bursts but have limited long term appeal and there are very few other games which are even half way interesting. Edit: Holy crap how can I have forgotten FFVII on the PSX - Still one of my all time favorite games.

I actually have a couple of odd cars that I really want but they are pretty hard to find in good condition now. Rover 420 GSi Turbo - Ugly as hell but great fun to drive (and 200BHP stock) and surprises the hell out of the boy racers and BMW owners when they get overtaken by a '90s rover Vaxhual Omega - Either the Evo 500 version (never seen one of these for sale anywhere) or the 3L V6 version (like the old bill used to have ). Another car that is ugly as hell but lots of fun and great to see peoples reactions when they get overtaken by a car that looks like it should be driven by a pensioner. Ford Capri - I have always wanted one of these but the options now are either an expensive restored one or a rotten one that you will have to spend a lot of money on restoring. Mk1 VW Golf - Another car I have always wanted and is now really hard to find in decent condition. Mk1 MX5 - I actually had one of these for quite awhile but sold it when me and my other half got together (apparently a 2 seater car is not suitable when you have 2 kids). Not the fastest car in the world but brilliant fun to drive (especially if you get it ported to a 2L and drop a T25 on it, just make sure you stick some bags of sand in the boot) All in all I have a fairly odd taste in cars.

I have my own "room" (it isn't big enough for me to lay down in and there is no external light source but it is mine). I wouldn't mind working in the main office as most days about the only personal contact I get is 30 seconds when someone pops their head in the door to tell me something is broke. On the other side of that there is no way I could do a lot of the hardware repairs without my own space. If you have no choice and aren't happy with it I would recommend that it is that time of year when you need to do hardware maintenance and stress testing on the loudest bits of kit that you have. Maybe once the office staff complain a few times about the amount of dust being blown out of old machines, lots of half assembled parts laying around, the sounds of compressed air and roar of a thousand cooling fans they will take another look at what space is available for you.

Short version I need an Android email client that will support gmail accounts and force the user to enter their password every time they access it. Any ideas? I know there are ways I can lock an app from running until a password is entered but that seems like a bit of a cludge. Also I know I could just tell them to use the web browser to access their email but again not really what they wanted.

Is that not potentially part of the problem though. If children (and I'm talking younger children who are still in the learning to read phase) are spending most of the time with the interactive content how much time is being taken away from them actually reading? I'm all for making learning more engaging but I strongly think we should be encouraging the fact that sitting down and reading a story (without lots of additional distractions) is fun in itself. That being said though I'm not an educator and for all I know kids might learn to read quicker when the reading itself isn't the main focus. I just know as a Dad that loves to read it has been incredible hard to get my very tech focused kids into the mindset that sitting and reading a book is as fun as youtube/consoles/etc. Back on topic though I love my kindle and would love to see ebooks used in school more. The problem here would be how to implement it. Ideally what I would love to see would be super cheap e-ink readers that all the kids are given that get all their classroom textbooks automatically added to it and allow them to "borrow" reading books from the school library. Once you get into the "every kid needs to plug their e-reader in somewhere" area it gets messy and would go into the "too hard and too time consuming" box for most teachers. I haven't seen anything like this yet.

Think I still have some of my old toolkit disks around somewhere. Might have to dig them out and take a look. Norton ghost and partition magic were two of my most used. Considering this was back in the day when ISDN was the best most businesses had the most used "tool" disks I had was service packs/patches and drivers. Saved a ton of time waiting for things to download, nothing worse than having to do the XP SP2 on 20+ machines individually over 512kb internet connection. Burn in test was another one we used quite a bit to stress test machines that were having intermittent issues we couldn't recreate and was always run for 24 hours on any new builds we made.

My 10 year old is a lefty but does a lot of things right handed. Probably just because that is what he has got used to. I set his computer up left handed once and he asked me to switch it back because it was annoying (though he doesn't mind if the mouse is on the left or the right side). Have tried to get him to eat left handed as well as he is still very awkward using a knife but he says that doing it the "left handed" way is even more difficult. Other than that though most other things he will quite happily switch between hands. For you guys out there that grew up writing left handed, what was your handwriting like as a kid and has it improved over time? My boy has fairly messy handwriting compared to a lot of other kids his age and I wonder how much is just because he cant actually see what he is writing as he is doing it or if he just has messy handwriting.

Can't help with people offering trials but I have just ordered a bunch of these: IPEVO VZ-1 HD VGA / USB Dual-Mode Document Camera 5-861-2-08-00 - DSTele.com 1/4 of the price of most of the other visualisers I have looked at and better spec than most. All the reviews I could find on them were very positive as well. I have paired them up with a cheapish KVM so it is easy to switch between the laptop and visualiser outputs to the projector. However these also have a USB mode so you can access directly via the laptop (my teachers here don't like doing it that way which is why I got the KVM's).

Thanks. They look good, especially the built in light box, but still rather pricey for what it is. I have ordered the VZ-1's and some KVM's with a remote button so I can hide them all up and just mount the button near the visualiser for when they need it. £120 a piece in total which is a lot cheaper than anything else I looked at (and the VZ-1 is better spec than most too). Funny a lot of schools say the same as you about the visualisers but the teachers here use them all the time.

So I'm after half a dozen replacement visulisers and it is a minefield of overpriced junk and items that have not been support for 5 years+ but are still being sold as new devices. Basically I need one that has VGA output with a VGA pass through so that it can run independently of a laptop. The teachers don't wont one that needs them to use software on the laptop (shame as even if I got 6 decent USB cameras it would be cheaper than one VGA pass through visuliser). I'm not 100% convinced that the people that exclusively use smartphones/tablets and don't buy a PC now are that much of a market loss for PC and OS providers. A lot of these people (in my experience) are ones that would not have invested much on computers to begin with. At most a lot of them would have bought a desktop or a laptop and run it until it broke (6+ years at least) so where not exactly added much to the market in the first place. I worked in the mobile tech industry for quite awhile, starting when UIQ and then Symbian 30 was the newest hotness right up until fairly recently with iOS and Android (I also was there for the best parts of Blackberrys existence and was sad to see them left behind as they were the BEST tech company to work with). Even with the latest tablets and cloud app's they are still no good by themselves for any heavy workload. At a minimum you need a mouse and keyboard and even then you are entirely tied to whatever app's or cloud services are available to that device. PC's still have the advantage of being able to use all them cloud app's but also having a massive selection of software which is already firmly entrenched in business and industry. Honestly in my opinion Android and iOS are still "mostly" consumer gadgets and have no place as a "primary" device in the work place. Yes there are some occupations which can perform all the tech side of their job via an online portal but the majority can't. The other issue with cloud services is that you are then basing your software infrastructure on something you have zero control over. If that company goes bust tomorrow then your primary software application is gone, If they do an update that breaks how you use it then you are stuck with it, etc. If you own the software then it doesn't matter what happens to the company that made it. If there is an update that breaks how you want to use it you have the option (sometimes) of just not doing the update. Yes, depending on what the software is this may mean that you get problems such as updates no longer being developed for it or that you cant apply security updates because it will break something else but at least you have options. Also if all your data and app's are cloud based what happens when your internet goes down? I don't see any time in the near future were they can realistically fill all the requirements that a PC/Windows can. However Android/iOS/Chrome and mobile devices/cloud apps being used as a supplement to standard stuff can be extremely useful, I just wouldn't want it as my only option.

I have always found the main quest/story in beth' games to be pretty boring to be honest (fallout/elderscrolls). Their appeal to me has always been the amazing worlds they put together and let you explore.

Depends on perks and weapons but a stealth build using a semi decent sniper will one shot them fairly easily. Honestly the one issue I had with this game is that it doesn't scale the npc levels. Once you start heading further out though you run into together things.

Looks awesome but so many of them have massive bundles of cables held together with like 5000 zip ties, would hate to have to replace a cable in that.

This is probably something that is easily answered but I just haven't had to really deal with it before,. Previous to me joining here the staff where all trained to use some "safe" image search site. The site is neither safe or particularly good (limited selection of images). I'm not sure what would be best to setup/recommend? I already have google locked to safesearch which with the lightspeed filtering should block the majority of objectionable content but this is obviously not 100%. I have found quite a few websites that are using a custom google search with added filtering on top but there are a lot out there so is anyone using any of these and can recommend them? Its just a difficult position as I know whatever I tell them to use sooner or later something will get through and then it will come back to being my fault

I was a mod on a fairly active set of minecraft servers for quite awhile. The problem is always the same. The fun is in setting things up and once you got everything running "all" there is left to do is build. While that is fun it burns you out on the game really quickly and you end up with 1 or 2 people working on massive projects (which never get finished) and the rest just drift off. Having gone through about 10 modded server resets it normally only has a 3-4 month lifespan before everyone is completely burnt out on it, less if you are using the same mods in the next reset. Economy in pretty much any minecraft server is pretty pointless to be honest. It is even more pointless in modded versions where pretty much everything can be produced on mass automatically. This is especially true with the newer mod packs where rather than having to have lots of interconnected systems from different mods working together you just chuck down some multiblock item and call it done. Couple of suggestions for making things a bit more interesting. Expanding world boarder. Make the world really small to begin with so resources are limited (and some that are biome specific are not available at all). This also encourages people to work together at the start as there is not a lot of room for everyone to go out and set up their mega base. Every X days increase the world boarder by X blocks. If you do this you also want to disable any other "dimension" generating stuff. This extends the life a bit as people build temporary stuff and then move as new areas are opened up which keeps it interesting. Not everyone will like being limited at the start though. Nerf any "easy" big power production. The most fun I have had playing minecraft with back in the FTB beta pack. There was no easy way to make power or transfer it around and you had to get creative about making big power production. Rather than chucking down a big reactor and tesseract I had to build boilers, find a way to create and transport the fuel for them and then get that power out to the machines. I spent weeks working on lots of interconnected systems just to get a massive, stable power supply going where as in newer mod packs I can do the same with just 1 multi-block structure. If you play with the config you can nerf the power production of the easy to make and maintain power generators and increase the production of the ones that require multiple systems to keep running. Nerf any item that you can place and forget which generates lots of useful items (i.e. quarries). When you can get infinite resources you never have to worry about working around not having them. When Yellorium is super hard to get though suddenly big reactors are a lot less useful and other power generation mods become an option with the big reactors being used only when you need a massive short term power boost. Hope that may give some somewhat interesting ideas. Sorry it turned more into a rant about modded minecraft not being as good as it used to be but I guess I kind of miss it

What level are you. I don't think they start showing up until about level 30-35ish. I got mine from an unmarked abandoned house south-east ish from bunker hill. There is a chance for a legendary ghoul to spawn in the room upstairs which if you are a high enough level can drop pretty much any item. There is also one standard one in the BOS airship. It is in the locked "cage" room where the vendor is on there. You need to be sneaky to steal it without getting caught though. The vast majority of legendary items I have had drop sucked but I also spent a lot of time fast travelling to the different locations where they spawn and killing them. Just wandering around the glowing sea is not bad for legendary farming either as you get quite a few spawn in there. I have chameleon effect on pretty much all my armor and can basically be standing in front of people without them seeing me now Only annoying thing is it makes the pip boy really hard to see and the white flash when you go in and out of the stealth effect gets on my nerves.

Watched "Under the skin" with Scarlett Johansson in it the other night. One of the strangest films I have ever seen and something I was very surprised to see her in (at least half the film is her driving around in a van by herself not saying anything). Also watched The Martian (finally, was going to watch at the cinema when it came out but was ill). Brilliant film, great acting, great story, very well made. I haven't read the book it was based on yet but it is on my list now.

Wait until you get a 2 shot gauss rifle, with all the perks it is an insane amount of damage (can 1 shot kill pretty much everything with a sneak attack in survival mode). The 4 guns I tend to use the most are 2 shot guass, 2 shot hunting rifle (my main weapon), explosive shotgun and the oversears guardian set up for high damage single shot. All 4 of these guns are way overpowered and I'm glad I didn't get them until quite late in the game. If you never want to worry about money or ammo again set up a bunch of purifiers in sanctuary and sell the water.
