  1. Giving Authenticated Users Read permissions on the Delegation tab won't affect the security filtering, it'll only allow the GPO to be queried (at which point the Security Filtering will kick in and do its job)
  2. If you give Authenticated Users the Read permission on the Delegation tab the GPOs should start working again without the need to uninstall the update.
  3. Some patches are issued purely as security or hotfix patches and don't get bundled into the main download so you have to grab them from the Adobe FTP site. (in simple terms anyway)
  4. I may have a copy buried away somewhere but I won't be able to check for a few weeks. I'll let you know.
  5. You'll need access to the SAP website to officially grab the file(s), probably best to ask your SAP support provider in the first instance. No point trying to track down the software if you can't get support for it.
  6. If that doesn't work then you could always pop in a GPO to block the running of securusn.exe :-)
  7. Might be worth setting a station to None and giving it a few reboots and see if it makes any difference. It could be one of the Software Restriction rules getting in the way (although a quicker way to test would be to see if it runs under Systemadmin)
  8. Trying to exclude that folder won't have any effect as the AppData\Roaming folder isn't part of the roaming profile on CC4. Does the company who make the software have any ideas as to why it doesn't work when the folder is redirected to a network share? One option, depending upon how many machines/users you want the software on, would be to create a new user registry policy purely for the use of the software and change the relevant settings in there so that all users assigned to the policy have their AppData stuff put back onto the local machine. Not an ideal situation and it could lead to other issues but it may at least provide a way of getting the software to run. What security are you running on the stations? Standard or None?
  9. If nothing seems to happen on the server then checking WindowsUpdate.log in your Windows installation folder may help you figure out what's going on behind the scenes.
  10. That last one is a typo, it should be 'wuauclt', not 'wuaulct'
  11. That'll clear the CSC on the machine and cause the offline files to be resynced from scratch. It's OK to do if there are any pending syncs to be done back onto the server.

    XP End of Life

Except, if you actually read the blog post, they're only providing antimalware and engine updates for software running on XP, so in effect they're updating Microsoft Security Essentials and nothing else. Support for XP itself is still ending as planned on 8th April.
  13. In my experience, yes, anything under that Logfiles directory can be removed (and you'll only regret it if you need to check the logs for something). As for those ones in your screenshot though, they aren't immediately ones I've seen before so I would try and do a bit of digging to find out what is generating them. What's inside them for instance?
  14. I had Studio MX 2004 components installed on Windows 7 and Flash worked fine without the 7.2 patch. Dreamweaver needed updating to 7.0.1 I think to get around some issues but Flash was perfectly happy just running on version 7 with the multi-user patch installed. Are you deploying the studio as a whole or as individual components?
  15. Sounds like there's nothing wrong with your policies then. I wonder if it would be worth resetting a user's profile in CC3, moving that user and then seeing if the policy applies.
  16. Do the settings get applied to a brand new user that you create in your new OU?
  17. I would make sure you're using the latest drivers for the printers to try and ensure they're W7 compatible.
  18. I had a machine that was in a similar state a few weeks ago. I think I ran Mcafee Stinger on it to make sure it was clean and then following this URL (I think) to put it back: Base Filtering Engine (BFE) service is missing: why did it happen and how to restore it Didn't need to reimage.
  19. That situation can often happen if you end up with 2 version of RM Tutor installed and remove one of them as it will remove everything related to the Tutor install. Glad it's working after a reinstall.
  20. If it's 1 machine out of 15, all the same machine, software etc then I'd certainly say it sounds like a hardware fault.

    CC4 Offline Files

If you have access to the RM Support site, take a look at TEC1802454
  22. Certainly make sure you're up to date with all the CC4 Updates and make sure that you have the RM Printer Agent package installed. That helps with a lot of issues with printers roaming/not roaming. If things are still playing up then certainly look at updating the printer drivers as Windows 7 is a lot less tolerant of drivers than XP used to be and as a result the Print Spooler can crash more often.
  23. If the applications are standard MSIs that don't rely on anything CC4-specific then you shouldn't have any issues.
  24. That would only work for drivers needed to get the build started. Once the OS is installed, it scans the database and pulls down drivers that it matches to the various hardware IDs. In the RMMC, what is listed under the Origin column for the driver in question?
  25. I've seen this with devices that have a hostname longer than 15 characters, DHCP will just display a blank rather than trying to truncate the name. Could be worth a look.
