Yeah PSF Cloud is a joke, its just a remote session! And when you ask for support they ask to remote onto your office machine to then remote onto their own VM!

I have a MSI GTX 750ti in my office PC and am running 3 22" monitors, 2 landscape and one portrait with no issue. It has 4 outputs but can only support 3 monitors at once but you can switch to the fourth

I find that once a Mac has had the latest operating system installed the only way to go back to an older version is to Internet recovery to factory settings and upgrade from there. My experience is coming from 2012 Macbooks so may be different with newer models.

I put this in the computing curriculum coordinator's classroom and a month later the BM "found" some money for our first 5. Now I'm not saying this will work for you but may be worth a shot

Break the cycle then. Having just spent lunch with 3 teachers, I asked them how they think our IFPs have impacted their day to day and the biggest thing for them was reliability. I probed them into what their idea of reliability was and they all said the alignment and brightness was the biggest improvement. They all agreed that they would never want to work with projectors/smart boards again and that if they were applying for a new job that what tech in their new classroom would be a deciding factor. As I've said, this argument shouldn't have been "what tech is better" but rather "whats the best we can afford"

This goes back to my iPhone vs other phones comment. Sure it's good enough but could be better. I don't think there is an argument for projectors vs IFPs in classrooms in terms of usability, IFPs will win out every time. Of course the cost argument is the one we are having now but I think if your school can afford it the choice is obvious. If not then the argument stops being about what technology is better but rather which one is cheaper.

You can't ignore those factors when considering cost. These are the exact reasons I choose to buy an iPhone, sure all other phones do what I need a phone to do, just iPhone does them better. Same can be said for IFPs vs projectors.

Get one right away and installed in a classroom where the teacher will use it effectively, I chose the Computing curriculum coordinator. Once you have one in school your teachers and SLT will see their benefit and the money will be found. That's how I played it and it seems to have worked. Is this only happening in Word? All of Office? Other software? I wondered if the "Home" key is stuck down or the keyboard is faulty and is pressing "Home" itsefl!? as after every key stroke the cursor will return to the beginning of the line causing the problem you describe? Have you looked at the language settings for Office and Windows? It may have been set to a right-left language such as Arabic or Hebrew - https://word.tips.net/T000291_Word_Operates_Backwards.html - have you seen this page?

As others have said, editing a PDF is not hard, meaning their stance is uninformed.

If that is the case then I see no issue here, like I said you might want to start making any new documents PDFs but as for going over 100s of old Word docs just seems pointless and a waste of time.

Is a Google login needed to view the files? If so that's a barrier to accessing that information?

Moved from projectors to interactive flat screens and would never look back. I only have 1 projector left in the entire school and that's in the hall where a flat screen wouldn't work well. The initial outlay is large but they will pay for themselves over the 10 years you'd expect them live for. Teachers are so much happier not having to align and the image is miles ahead of projectors.

I would say PDFs are more useful as mentioned they work natively on more devices than a .docx, however, your LA's reasoning regarding security is ridiculous. I would start by ensuring any new documents are uploaded as PDFs and replace the older documents with PDFs as they come up for renewal.

Hey, it may not looked warped but unfortunately the center point of the warping is pretty much the center of that graphics chip I mentioned, so even the slightest warping can disconnect that chip. Look up "xbox 360 x clamp fix" for more information I'd have been more than happy to send you mine as it's collecting dust but since MS removed Trials Evolution from the store and there is no way of getting it on a new 360, mine has become one of my most prized possessions!

Depending on the model, the overheating may have warped the main board which has an effect on a graphics chip so you will only get the issues when that chip is called on which is typically when a game starts. For how much 360s are these days, have a look on FB Marketplace for best offers, you'd be best off buying a replacement than trying to fix this one Try to get the latest S or E model

Yeah this was never about causing an issue or creating a law suit. Its 2018 and rightfully so, people have a right to a certain level of privacy. The thread's title was purely just to start the conversation. All sorted now and hopefully this thread will remain useful for others who find themselves working under a similarly broken policy

My personal mobile so only people who I have given it to previously. The messages are benign in themselves its just when I have time off people think I've gone nuts again. If I'm off with a cold/flu/etc I'm typically off to reduce the spread of the illness rather than my inability to do work. I will check my emails and if I feel up to it I will fix small issues remotely.
