I did mention GDPR and as a school that takes it seriously, my management team were very happy that I'd identified a potential breach. I don't get offended, certainly not by some nobody online

Yeah easily identified. I cannot think of a legit reason to say I am ill, I understand communicating that I won't be in but the reasoning is irrelevant. I'm off to speak with management in a moment. Will let you know how it goes.

Hi All, Not sure if this is the right forum so feel free to move if not. When staff are off ill they are written up on the staffroom board as ill so mine would be "TomHD - ill", when I'm out on training it will say "TomHD - out". If a staff member's child is ill, it will be written up as "Staff X - child ill"! I have always had issue with this as every time I am off ill (I had a long break from work for mental issues a couple of years back) I get lots of staff members messaging me asking if I'm OK, I do not get the same texts when I'm on the board as "out". Now the messages are nice and polite but I seriously don't want to have to explain I'm fine 10+ times when I'm just resting off a cold! So my question is, is my school breaching GDPR by publicly displaying that I'm ill? General staff do not need to know I'm ill, they just need to know I won't be in. Would be interested to hear what other schools do when staff aren't in? Thanks, TomHD

I've created similar systems to this before. The way I have gone is by using QR codes that are printed when student/class earns tokens. These QR codes are then scanned by the students using a PC/Mac via webcam that works with PHP/MySQL backend to collect results. The results can then be manipulated in any way you want. When I looked there wasn't an off the shelf solution so hacked it together over a couple of months. Was a while ago and I wouldn't be happy sharing the mess that it was, perhaps I'll give it another go if others have interest?

Like Deano, I bunde mine into working groups so all students, all teachers, all admin etc. You can use the location lists or smart lists to assist with this

I think of my pups daily. I had to let them go after my partner of 10 years decided she no longer liked me, was faced with giving them to a stranger or let her have them. I chose the latter. She said she would never stop me from seeing them but I could never accept sharing them with the "man" she left me for. I've not told many people this and as I type I'm wondering why I am but I'll continue... Still issues here Sigma, things are just getting worse and MLL are doing nothing! I am currenlt writing a proposal for our BM to move to a business solution and wave bye bye to this terrible service I stopped complaining as there is clearly no point, was told similar fables as you were that others were happy!

Our county has just stopped using Egress so we have now switched to password protecting the attached file, emailing it and then communicating the password over a different channel. Haven't had any complaints from uses yet!

Afternoon All, We have been having ongoing issues with our county supplied broadband and my BM has asked me to write a proposal for moving to a business broadband service provided by the likes of Virgin/BT/et al. We are still stuck with issues SCC/MLL just aren't doing their part! It's a shambles.

The SIMS reports are output as an HTML file and Chrome has no issues displaying these not sure about the exporting to Excel though!

I deploy both as others have said there are still sites that won't display or work properly in both browsers. However Chrome is set to default as its the better browser of the 2

Isn't the slow first login related to settings being applied? I know on my network that first logins are slow but speed up considerably once the user profile is created on the machine's local storage.

You only encountered the one complaint because you were by your car, you have no idea how many pedestrians are obstructed or complain during the day! Cars do not belong on the pavement, it is as simple as that.

Park on the road, block the traffic, force the local authority to put a proper solution in place. I'm usually all for a utilitarian approach but I find it contentious to suggest that not blocking cars is more important than not blocking pedestrians. I know you don't feel like you've blocked anyone but the very fact that someone complained to you about it suggests otherwise.

By saying you hate doing it you are recognising it is not a positive thing and to say you don't have a choice is a weak position to take. "I feel a bit guilty but keeping telling myself she was just a complainer that would complain about anything." Again you are feeling guilty, reaffirming the situation's negativity and yeah the lady may be a complainer in general but a complaint is a complaint regardless of your opinion on it's validity.
