The boards are Clevertouch and the software is "Lynx" - as of yet I've not found or heard of any way to calibrate them..

I've never went to a course to learn a programming language, doesn't feel right to me. I'd rather learn the rules and then try on my own.. CodeAcademy is one of the best places though really.

Never tried the Ruckus route but we use Meraki and it's a great system, lots of customization and control and relatively easy to use.

Has anyone come across a similar issue on their Clevertouch (or any) interactive board? When actually drawing or writing on the screen it displays fine, however as soon as the user let's go and stops interacting with the board the content turns fuzzy and pixelated. Never seen it before and it doesn't seem to be related to just the software being used..

I like the overall design but it's very sharp and bright, maybe add some border-radius to the main containers.

You can use the -replace argument, though I can't remember for the life of me how to use it!

I can confirm that the standalone is 100x easier to use in an educational environment, a lot less problems.

If you want AD-based authentication, you might want to consider using LDAP in PHP - login authentication is remarkably simple.

Because it's Apple after restricting access to it, I found that I had to log in on each Mac as local admin and sign in to the app store using a school apple ID I created - after that there were no more messages.

I had a similar issue on a laptop and using a forced gpupdate (then restart) fixed it.

That's how Java Drive-by's work Java generally doesn't recommend it regardless of who made the java applet purely for security reasons, the only way I know is by using weird cryptographic coding styles and other methods that your anti-virus won't like.

I remember that.. because I used to do it in school too! (back when RM first started being deployed in schools). Chances are he's locking his screen (windows+L) or opening the ctrl+alt+delete options list just before the teachers use RM to lock the screens, then he simply exits off the that screen and he's good to go. Try testing the above methods to see if either works, if they are what the student is doing then you can fix by either blocking the ability for students to lock via GPO or block them being able to open CTRL+ALT+DEL screen (via GPO too).

We use RBS here and it's definitely the easiest platform I've used for it's purpose. The 3 features I still would love to see added are: - Ability to resend (and regenerate) a user password. - Ability to use the hidden "Unassigned" category at will or an option to hide categories. - A time system that we can match to periods so that people can't book time slots that have already passed in the day!

We're using Panda, it's not amazing but it does the job and we've had no complaints.

Haven't really played it, got into all the betas but their servers were so terrible I only managed to play it for about 10 minutes. But from those 10 minutes I got the impression that it was just ANOTHER mmo that had no real unique substance to it, just grindy.

I know I'm a bad person for gravedigging a 2 year old thread, but has anyone had an issue using a shared mailbox (LGFL) with Spiceworks where it shows the mailbox's owner's display name rather than the shared mailbox display name (or spiceworks display name for that matter)? For example the outgoing settings are correct, but when we get an email it displays my name rather than "Helpdesk".. Also, anyone managed to get Exchange working for Incoming mail? **edit** Spoke to LGFL and they said they'd allow a "user" email for the helpdesk as long as we provide an IP address where the mail will originate from (our helpdesk server) so that's sorted.

App Inventor is really quite horrid to set up properly for multiple devices, I had loads of problems with it (thankfully we aren't even using it anymore). Most common fixes are the Java version (update it fully) and browser choice (chrome works best).

So I'm faced with quite the tricky scenario regarding a new setup of Spiceworks as a helpdesk (only) in a School environment, it's set up to sync with AD (read only). The first problem is that the school does not keep any e-mail addresses of users in AD, it's all stored via LGFL Mail so they've never had to worry about it. Now, we need Spiceworks to email the Staff with ticket updates and the only way to do this would be to have email addresses added to the Staff Accounts in AD.. The other problem is that Spiceworks is syncing all the student users etc and other accounts we don't want. We only need Staff accounts to be synced. My proposed solution as of yet is: - Grab all email addresses/LGFL usernames from LGFL and then write some scripts or excel formulas to 'generate' the usernames (then quickly check manually that the output is correct) - Use a PowerShell/equivalent script to import emails to AD using username as reference. - Somehow write an LDAP filter to only allow users within a certain group or DN so only Staff users are synced. Does what I'm doing sound correct? is there an easier way to do all of the above? should I throw in the towel and give up?

That's exactly my point, I'd never want to give staff access to all groups like that. I haven't delved too deep into how Impero works, but if I could determine which room the staff member is in (via SIMS perhaps?) then I'm wondering if there's any way to hook into Impero or edit configs somewhere etc.
