  1. I get nightly builds from Cyanogen on my Samsung S2. BBQLog - Official CyanogenMod 7, 9, 10 and 10.1 Changelog for Android distrubtion CyanogenMod Downloads
  2. Two seconds in Google resulted in. Gillotts School Gillotts Lane, Henley-on-Thames, Oxfordshire, RG9 1PS Tel: 01491 574315 Was that the competency test for the job btw?
  3. I was simplifying for the purposes of readability. The correct term for 'something you know' in the context of two factor authentication is of course a 'knowledge factor'. Which is defined generally as 'the user is required to prove the knowledge of a secret in order to authenticate'. This generally takes the form of a password, pin number or pattern.
  4. Intercept and redirect DNS traffic going to the LSN DNS servers at your network border to go somewhere else. Probably your main internal DNS forwarder that's talking to the root the DNS servers.
  5. Are the ports for DNS filtered? If not, don't use the forwarders?
  6. Two factor authentication requires you authenticate with 'something you have' and 'something you know'. So this could be something simple like a pin number and a fingerprint to get inside a building. World of warcraft is a good example of it done well. The 'something you know' is your username/password and the 'something you have' is the battlenet authenticator. It depends on the situation and your users as to what will work best for you, but for internet services of any description look at the WoW model.
  7. Win8/Server2012 expects you to be using GPP.
  8. You can only configure the IE10 settings from a Win8 or Server2012 machine running the GPMC. You must use GPP rather than GPO configuration settings.
  9. An SSD is a Time vs Space trade off. It's up to you where you want to focus this trade off. Boot up times? Wake times from suspend/hibernate? Application loading? General system response times? Task switching? Pick your poison and configure accordingly. Also remember you can choose not to choose and put the whole system on SSD but there is a cost implication of course. So you are removing the Hard drives?
  10. Some software will not function correctly without a page file. Most notably Virtual Machines and defragging software. Additionally it's best to have some wiggle room for the file cache and SuperFetch to do their jobs.
  11. I knew I'd seen a guide somewhere about this.
  12. Access times for a SSD are not an issue as there are no physical moving parts. So defragging doesn't increase the speed of the SSD. Additionally an SSDs life expectancy and total capacity is down to the number of writes to it. So doing a defrag will reduce the capacity and lifetime of the SSD for no net benefits. Another tweak you will need to do is to make sure the windows page file is not on the SSD either. Additionally you can do some trickery with Junction Points if you want to move Programs/User Folders/etc to the HHD.
  13. Nah these are all XP
  14. The refurbished DC7700's SFF's I have here have Intel 82566DM nics. I just use the latest v18 drivers and it's totally fine (netgear/hp procurve/dlink switches depending on site). http://downloadcenter.intel.com/SearchResult.aspx?lang=eng&ProductFamily=Ethernet+Components&ProductLine=Ethernet+Controllers&ProductProduct=Intel%C2%AE+82566+Gigabit+Ethernet+PHY
  15. Windows NTFS volumes by default do not track last access times.
  16. What did the windows server think? Did it issue an IP lease? Anything in the logs on the procurve? Also post your actual config.
  17. Staff IPads on the Domain IP range. Fine they are under your control so you can trust them. BYOD, no way even with NAC, accidents or maliciousness could turn your network to Swiss cheese before you knew what was going on.
  18. The web interface is bloody awful and I'd suggest you avoid using it where ever possible.
  19. BTW you can backup the HP Procurve's configuration to a text file via tftp or SSH scp. TFTP: copy run tftp 10.1.1.10 config1.cfg SSH (from a client PC): pscp -scp -l USERNAME -pw PASSWORD -2 192.168.100.1:cfg/running-config c:\switch.cfg Assuming you have TFTP/SSH file transfer enabled on your switch (which you should).
  20. post the output from 'mount' and list the contents of '/etc/fstab'
  21. I think SSL login + optional (user preference) SSL browsing for logged in users would be the right direction then? That gets round all the issues you cite?
  22. EA can die in a fire for all I care.
  23. Would it be possible to allow browsing of the site over SSL (HTTPS)? I am aware there's real money and server resource costs in this.
