It rolls up earlier hotfix releases that were released for XP so I would be tempted to say run it on the XP clients, best test 1 client and see what happens. Have you got tracing on for the GPPs to see what's happening when it tries to apply the setting to the clients?

If you want to stick with Sanyos then have you looked at the PLC-WL2500?

The F12 thing is to do with whether the deployment is assigned as mandatory or not, i.e. if it's assigned as mandatory then you don't get the F12 prompt and it goes straight into TS. To check or alter an advertisment then just find it under Site Database -> Computer Management -> Software Distribution -> Advertisements then right click the relevant advterisement and shoose properties, then switch to the schedule tab and there you can alter manadatory assignments.

As you have 2008R2 servers and if you have installed the Client Side Extension hotfix on the Windows XP PCs then you could do this as a user Group Policy Preference. Open a GPO (or create a new GPO) User Config -> Preferences -> Windows Settings -> Registry

I get spare Dell PSUs from Laptop Computers For Sale: Cheap Computers, Dell & HP UK ignore the actual model number of the pc and just choose ones that are the same case type/model, e.g. I get the same one for my gx520, gx740 and optiplex 380 SFF PCs.

another promisor update gone horribly wrong
mounters replied to browolf's topic in Educational Software
Had a similar problem with an earlier upgrade and was told to carry out the following: 1. Close the ESM server application down, then rename the contact.ccf file from the ESM shared location. 2. Restart the ESM server and click on browser, it will want to do an update again, just cancel this. 3. Check the shared location to make sure that it has recreated the file. 4. Uninstall the administrator program on the client. 5. Install the administrator program on a client again making sure the path the shared files is correct. -
All done by IP address.

What about through your smartphone!

It randomly generates the list so it won't necessarily be 6th from bottom. Also, last years winner in this category only got 88 votes (Best Educational Tech Support Edublog 2009 – The Edublog Awards)so surely we can do better than that!

Unscrew the 2 screws (the flatter ones, 1 by power cable and the other by the USB port) and slide the pcb tray unit out the back of the printer, then just stick the memory in.

I believe the road sign posts you describe are actually designed for improved crash safety. If someone crashes into them then they will collapse much more easily than the older steel pole design, thereby minimising the impact on the vehicles occupants.

It's a pretty poor video but the only one I can find at the moment of a brilliant diving catch by Monty Panesar at square leg. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kY6fRWTPJCw

It was generally random machines, we think it was when machines were uncleanly shutdown by pupils as it was only in suites we saw it and not on staff laptops. Yes I've had this issue, I had a case open with MS about it but we never really got anywhere with it, we eventually narrowed it down to the corruption of the windows repository. To test if this is the fault you have then try disabling WMI service and then restart the PC to see if the logon nolonger hangs. To repair any PCs showing the issue I stopped the WMI service and then renamed the repository folder (C:\Windows\System32\wbem\repository) to repository.old and then restarted the PC, this rebuilds the repository. To prevent the issues from reoccuring I found that disabling RSoP logging through a GPO stopped the error from reappearing. Never did anymore investigation into the problem after this.

[closed] bug/error: Problems accessing the Forum
mounters replied to SimpleSi's topic in EduGeek.net Site Problems
I've seen performance issues on the site today as well. Long time to load posts, very few adverts displaying, mangled layouts and timeouts. -
I would serously take a look at an Epson B-310/510, they are inkjet so I know not exactly what the OP requested, but they come with 3500 page ink tanks (about the size of a paperback book) which are very reasonable. I bought a B-310 the other week for £190 and inks are £22 black and £26 per colour, combined with the power savings on the device if works out much cheaper than a laser to run. More info on the epson website Epson B-310N - Printers and All-in-Ones. Technical Specifications and Overview

can i build my own CC4 Server?
mounters replied to computers_r_the_enemy's topic in Windows Server 2000/2003
You can supply your own hardware for a CCx build, you will however incur the costs to have the server build streamed onto it. This is quite a lot from RM (to make you buy their hardware I believe) although you may find that your LA (if RM approved/trained) can do this for you. The actual commissioning process whilst not complex does require you to have the up to date instructions (these are only available to you if you have been on the RM commissioning training) if you don't follow these exactly then you can be in for a world of pain. If you want/need the simplicity of CCx (i.e. it's configured, tested, etc for you) then you have to pay for it. -
I'm an iPad stat too, use it instead of the Mac at home now for most things.
