  1. It's not there at the logon screen as the picture is associated with the user account, and until someone logs on there's no user account to associate this with.
  2. Hmm, yes becuase if you stop all exes then you'll have a really useful network?!? What about basic things like winlogon.exe, explorer.exe, winword.exe calc.exe, paint.exe notepad.exe
  3. Don't use a software restriction policy, go to User Config -> Policies -> ADM templates -> Windows Components -> MMC and configure it all there.
  4. I use VMWare Fusion 3 on my mini at home with no problems, using unity you can place Windows applications in the dock to to make them appear to be native to the user.
  5. Yes, they apply to both.
  6. Yep they look good to me.
  7. Are you sure? Do you not just need to use the ProductType and then 1 = clients, 2 = servers that are DCs, 3 = member servers.
  8. Does this help at all Step 7: Creating WMI and Group Filters
  9. Have you installed the ipsca root certificate on the server? You might also need this installing on client.
  10. Yes the switches are stacked using the stacking kits, we do use VLANS and have a 3com switch connected up with a LAG (2*1Gb connections) as well as many other different models of Netgear switches with no problems. I don't use the 10Gb ports yet, but hopefully will be for a storage project if I can get funding.
  11. Not all of us break up today, North East schools don't break up til next week.
  12. Whilst that may be the case in NZ, I've personally had no such problems here.
  13. I've got a core stack that consists of GSM7352S-200, GSM7328S-200 and a GSM7352S-V1 and have no problems with them. Performance is good, they are easy to manage and as you state the price point is low for these when compared to other manufacturers. I think that a lot of people see the Netgear name and get a bit of snobbery and just think that they only do home netowrking kit or they've been burnt by a cheap home router and this devalues the brand for them.
  14. We've got 4 of the Epson interactives and I think they are great, teachers like them too. I'd have more if I had the budget to replace standard projectors with them. As for boards you've got 2 options really: 1. Get proper dry wipes that are designed to be projected onto and have a matt surface, like these Projection Whiteboard VES - Dry-wipe Boards - Chalkboards & Magnetic Boards | Pin Display Boards - Products 2. Don't bother with a board and just project straight onto the wall.
  15. Check out the stuff on SMS, SCCM 2007, SCCM 2012 - www.windows-noob.com
  16. You could configure a RRAS server (on 2008+ it's under NPS) to sit between the networks, set your test network up as 10.0.0.x (or whatever) and on the RRAS you'd need 2 nics one 10.0.0.1 (lets say) and 192.168.5.x (what you've got free on current network).
  17. Same company, both members of Systemax Group.
  18. You can use Visio to create layered diagrams. You can then turn layers on and off to display different levels of details. Lots of resources and tutorials for creating layered diagrams availalble on google and you tube.
  19. I use iTap RDP on my iPad and iPhone to connect to servers and desktops, it's just a standard rdp application so as long as remote desktop is enabled on the client devices then it will work.
  20. @pete How did you get it to launch as a standard user? Ta
  21. If you have 2008R2 DCs then don't use the Print Management console, use Group Policy Preferences instead. You get much more control over how printers apply and can set deletes/replace on each preference item to ensure printers don't build up.
  22. Not sure how close it is to full RDP7 yet, but this FreeRDP which is forked from the rdesktop project looks interesting and should be easy enough to just add to the T5735 build and then just redistribute that image to all your others.
  23. Yes agreed, but with CSE the rollups are frequently a combined update for version 5.2.xxxxx of gpprefcl.dll (for XP & 2003). Additionally, just because a hotfix doesn't say that it work with a certain version Windows doesn't mean that it can't be applied to it.
  24. Shouldn't really matter, have you tried using a different location to share them from rather than netlogon? Also have you applied this hotfix Group Policy Preferences Client-Side Extension Hotfix Rollup finally is there anything in the eventvwr on the client that relates to the GPP application?
