Having a bit of trouble with the iPads over here. We are using profile manager as our mdm and have created the enrolment profile, which i have then put into profile manager. When i go to install it onto the device through apple Configurator i get the error messages profile installation Failed and connection to the server could not be established. However if i go onto the iPad and enrol from there by going to the server address it works fine and have no problem. Anyone have any ideas why? Thanks

After several times of rebooting it and clearing some settings it is finally working. thanks for the help

Having a problem with our Net top box in school. Every time i try to activate the live schedule i get the error message Failed to send settings - Daemon is not running. Anyone have any idea? Thanks

We have just got a chromecast for a teacher however we are struggling with the set up with it. The problem is our proxy in the school can't be inputted into it to get it to work on the internet. has anyone had a similar problem or know a solution? Thanks

Just setting some ipads up and after supervising them in apple configurator i type the profile manager server name/mydevices into safari and it comes up with a login box before i can enrol the iPad. Is there a way when the server address is typed in the device goes straight to the enrol page? Thanks

I am trying to use plex connect at home but the router is blocking the ports. When i go onto the console by the looks of it you have to assign a game & application sharing to the device which needs it to forward the ports. This seems such a long winded way of doing it!!!! Is there no way i can just forward the ports on the router for all devices? Thanks

Its funny at my last job i had so many problems with the lightspeed mdm but never to this extent. Thought the other solutions would be better when i started at my new place but every solution just seems as bad as each other.

I have enrolled 11 ipads successfully but then on the final two which i was doing i have hit a problem. Meraki pushes the apps i want to the iPads but then they sit on the iPad just waiting and after a couple of minutes its says the apps could not be downloaded at this time. I have unenrolled the devices and done a clean install also turned the devices on an off again about a million times. Anyone came across this problem before? Edit: No Apps are installing now!!!!!!!!

All of those port are open. Thats what i was thinking but as soon as i put the proxy settings into the iPad and on the mac mini it never seems to want to push anything. Thats why I tested it at home to see if it was the mac mini server set up problem or filtering problem.

Does anyone use RM Safety Net as the filter when deploying ipads using profile manager as I am having real difficulties now. The Mac Mini that I am using worked fine at home when deploying the test iPad but as soon as i bring it back into school profile manager won't push any new settings to the iPad. Any ideas???

Think i tried that about a million times already. Spoke to Apple and they are looking into the problem for me.

I must have missed a step somewhere but I have downloaded the trust certificate and the enrolment profile from the profile manager. I then pushed them to the iPad using apple configurator but the device appears in profile manager but as a New Device but with not the name i called it in apple configurator. Also when i try and change settings on the iPad from the profile manager it doesn't do anything. Thank you

I am setting up some new iPads that we have in school. I am using profile manager on my mac as the mdm and using apple configurator to supervise the iPads. I have been able to push the wireless and trust certificate to the iPads fine but when i try and install the mdm profile to the iPad i get the error "there was a problem communicating with the secure web proxy server https" Any ideas? thanks

So in theory lightspeed could work so why do the headteachers have to sign the disclaimer?

With lightspeed though if it goes down then another filtering system doesn't kick in. Unless I am wrong.

We are looking for a solution where pupils can bring in their devices and connect to our wifi and enter there school login details as authentication. We need a solution in which if the filtering fails our rm filtering will kick in instead. At my previous school we used lightspeed rocket filtering which worked well but if the rocket went down then we would lose internet which is not an option over here. Thanks

Does anyone else use it to manage Macs? Just wondering do you have to restart the mac every time you change a setting to get it to apply or is it like the iPads in which it does it straight away. Thanks
