Anyone else having issues getting in to the G Suite Admin Console? When I try to log in I'm getting this message: Update: As I was composing this message, I had a little brain wave and decided to download the Google Admin app. This allowed me to sign in and get a PIN to call Google, as I couldn't call them without a PIN and couldn't get a PIN because I couldn't get in! Anyway, turns out, it's a known issue and they are working on it. Just thought I'd post this any way so that fellow Edugeekers are aware.

Managed to get permission to attend all week, gonna sit down and plan everything out properly this time! Seeing as I have 4 days, I'll be hoping to attend a lot more of the keynote speeches. I wonder if the security guards will let me in again this year at 8am. They did last year and I was shocked at just how many iPads, MacBooks, Dell XPS and other very expensive items were just lying around completely unattended and unsecured ready for someone to "innocently" grab mistake as one of the freebies!

Yes, followed this right through to the end, but it's right at the end where I get the error.

Tried both, same error

Doesn't work for me. Doesn't do anything at all... EDIT: I'm presuming I have to wait for the update!

I've just downloaded it, installed it, done all the API permissions and credential stuff, and when I try to PowerShell in to GAM, I'm getting the following error: Traceback (most recent call last): File "gam.py", line 10953, in File "gam.py", line 10430, in ProcessGAMCommand File "gam.py", line 1680, in doGetDomainInfo File "gam.py", line 1704, in doGetCustomerInfo File "gam.py", line 1105, in buildGAPIObject File "gam.py", line 1083, in getClientAPIversionHttpService File "gam.py", line 10174, in doRequestOAuth File "oauth2client\util.py", line 137, in positional_wrapper File "oauth2client\tools.py", line 257, in run_flow File "oauth2client\client.py", line 423, in put File "oauth2client\file.py", line 94, in locked_put File "oauth2client\file.py", line 81, in _create_file_if_needed IOError: [Errno 13] Permission denied: u'C:\\Program Files\\GAM\\oauth2.txt' Failed to execute script gam Any ideas?

Is there an easier way to delelte multiple user accounts and organisational units in G Suite Admin? E.g. I would like to delete last user's Year 6 and all of it's pupils, they are in the following format in G Suite: School Domain OU - Year 6 -- Class 1 --- -- Class 2 --- -- Class 3 --- Etc. I can't delete the top level OU, as it tells me there are sub OUs and I can't delete the sub OUs as there are user accounts in the OU. Is there an easy way to force delete all the users in bulk without having to manually tick 100s of users and then selecting delete per OU? Just trying to save a bit of time and potential RSI from multi clicking!

Surprised not to see the attention seeker Kim Kardashian on the list.

Door Access Control and Visitor/Staff Sign In
Zoom7000 replied to Zoom7000's topic in How do you do....it?
We use SIMS.net -
I'm looking to replace our existing staff and visitor sign in system with a new centralised sign in and door access control system across our MAT. Currently at Site A we have an SG World VisIT-Ed ID card scanner (which is terribly clunky, really poor support and a nightmare to actually scan cards) and a set of Paxton proximity door access control mag locks on key fobs. (http://www.paxton-access.com/Image%20registry/Image%20web/013194.jpg) Both systems are completely independent to each other and very difficult and expensive to support. At Site B, we have an electronic version of the VisIT-ED system with a touch screen and it takes a photo and then prints the visitors badge. Staff sign in using a separate Stanley based system, which also has door access control around the school. Site A doesn't use proximity intelligent ID cards and the cards are merely cheap plastic with a barcode printed. Site B uses RFID proximity cards for the Stanley system. Ideally, I want one solution for the MAT which supports reprogrammable proximity RFID cards for staff that can support door access control and also the follow me printing setup I am currently looking at. At the moment it's looking like Uniflow with Canon as we have a multi year contract. The system will also need to support access control points on different networks as currently we have 2 separate networks, but they are both accessible via IP Address through the LGfL firewalls. Finally, a visitor sign in system similar to what I currently have, but with much better support than the terrible SG World! Any ideas?

Kinda shocked that it took them this long to release it for their own platform! 🤔

I had noticed a couple of "blips" of slowdown, but in the main it's been okay.

Article: Google G Suite Webinar - 08 Dec 2016
Zoom7000 replied to Dos_Box's topic in Legacy CMS Comments
A questions I've just thought of... Is it possible to enable a feature to edit Word, Excel and PowerPoint files through G Suite, without having them automatically converted to Docs, Sheets and Slides and creating a duplicate file. I know there is an extension that does exactly this, but is there any chance of integrating it directly in to G Suite. -

Do you have a link to that news, haven't seen it anywhere on the LGfL Support Site. -
LGfL Webscreen or other Filtering solution?
Zoom7000 replied to fiza's topic in London Grid for Learning (LGfL)
I've used both Smoothwall and Webscreen 2.0 and the former, being solely a filtering company, providing a filtering solution, is a far greater product, but it is also a greater additional cost. Whereas, Webscreen 2.0 is included in your annual broadband subscription. I agree with the comment about the lack of https inspection giving "Page cannot be displayed" errors, which causes loads of "false positive" complaints, but ultimately it is a question of whether you want to shell out the cost for the Smoothwall product, or take the LGfL option which does what you need it to in terms of safeguarding responsibility. Sure, all of the above and AD integration would be great, but for me in a primary school and the usage of our users, I just can't justify the cost of paying for a dedicated solution when Webscreen 2.0 does what we need and does it reasonably well. -
Nah, it's been dead since summer apparently. Been sat in a cupboard somewhere. However, I managed to find the model number, listed in the tiniest font ever underneath the battery! It's a HP Pavilion 15-ab243na. Weird model number!

Just had a laptop dropped off to me and asked to order a replacement AC Adapter because the last one has been lost. However, the laptop has no model numbers or labels on it at all. Anyone have any idea what model it might be? The only distinctive mark on it...

I think this is an iOS 10 issue because I get the very same issue with the Outlook app on my iPhone too. -
Non Domain PCs keep forgetting mapped drive credentials
Zoom7000 replied to Zoom7000's topic in Windows 10
It's a brand new Dell Inspiron 13 5000, 7th Gen Core i7, 16GB RAM, 256GB SSD. So it's no where near struggling for performance. It doesn't have an ethernet port, so I'm connecting to a Meraki access point outside my office with a very strong signal. So it's definitely something on the server end with regards to logon. -
Non Domain PCs keep forgetting mapped drive credentials
Zoom7000 replied to Zoom7000's topic in Windows 10
My domain controller is still running Windows Server 2008. I haven't updated it for Windows 10 clients (If there is indeed anything that I need to do?). I tried to add the laptop to the domain and once I did, it simply wouldn't allow users to logon. Not exactly not allowing, just stuck at "Welcome" for about 10 minutes before I gave up. Hence why I've not added it to the domain. -
Yes, but the trouble is that had been said on the previous 2 occasions also and yet here we are a 3rd time. What's the saying about 3 strikes...?

Last one I played was Final Fantasy VIII. Best story to a game I've ever played and still my most favourite game ever! Unfortunately, due to lack of PC releases since VIII, I've not played another one since. I know 13 or something was on PC, but not got round to it.

Wow... So glad I left that company. In the 4 years I was there, I was put at risk 2 times. Horrible feeling and a lot of friends lost their jobs. Sad to see such a huge fall from grace and it's the hard workers at the bottom that suffer.
