Is this issue consistent? Do some files in the folder open and some not? Is it just office documents or do other file types have the same problem opening? Can you copy the files to the desktop and open them from there? Has anything changed on your network / servers recently?

Ive got over 700 laptops that we are disposing of and need to find a quick way to format the disks. It doesnt need to be a secure wipe, Im just looking for perhaps a live USB I can boot them from that will automatically run a format (which would probably need to load whatever sata drivers as well for the disk?) Is there maybe a simple SCCM task sequence I could create that would achieve this that I could put on USB without having to wire them up to the network?

Im flying to las vegas, via LA fairly soon, and I like the idea of picking up a hire car in LA and driving through the desert to vegas. I arrive in LA at 2pm on the saturday, and am not due in LV till 3pm the following day, so Im unsure whether to just pick up the hire car and drive straight to LV, or to stay in LA for the night and drive the next day. Have any of you been to LA? Is there much worth seeing in less than 24 hours? Which hotel should I look at. Where do I go to get a photo of the Hollywood sign and the Stars in the Pavement. I know this isnt tripadvisor so apologies for the non-IT post but hopefully someone has been there before and can offer some insight? Cheers.

Ive had an issue where a tech has changed the password of a user they shouldn't have, and I'm trying to track down who changed the password. Is there any method within AD to check the password change history?

Ive got our staff and students logging in to the domain, and their home folder is mounting OK and adding itself to the Dock. This is working well, however it seems as a side effect (feature?) to also put an icon on the desktop showing the parent share. This is a problem because the staff and students can then go in and look at all the usernames of the other users. (obviously they cant access the other folders). Is there a way to stop this parent share showing on the desktop? Or do I have to just modify the NTFS perms to stop them from being able to view the other folders.

Been using it since the turn of the year. Its made implementing Macs and Ipads onto our network, actually possible.

We have a wifi iOS device that has gone awol in transit internationally, and the date/time of the last ActiveSync check in was a number of hours after the device was lost. Is there any way I can check the IP address in Exchange logs of the last sync to check which country the device went missing in?

I do want to have a central server to monitor who prints what, and uploading a document through a www site is fine. Can I just install papercut on my existing windows print server, allow http access to that single IP, and then the ipads can print using papercut? I was under the impression that papercut had to use bonjour?

Is there any way to print from Ipads to a windows based print server where the printers are shared, or is the only way to use bonjour and use something like Papercut? How are you all managing printing from ipads?
