Has anyone written one of these? From the examples Ive found online they seem to relate to multinational organizations with numerous data centers and entire DR dedicated staff etc. Does anyone have an example of a document that would be relevant to a medium size school?

Can anyone point us towards a bit of a HOW-To for baby steps to create a reference mac dualbooting the latest MAC OSX and windows 7, and then how to capture and deploy it with Deploy Studio. We were using net-restore but it doesn't seem to be working with the latest OSX on the latest imac and machook hardware so I am told. We have a mac server hardware if thats any use but i think is obsolete?

RabbieBurns replied to RabbieBurns's topic in Enterprise Software
thanks. That worked. It populated EMC with the group. I wonder how many other 'ghost' distribution groups exist! -

Exchange 2010 - Cannot locate an address
RabbieBurns replied to RabbieBurns's topic in Enterprise Software
the only group that is similar to them is a security group not a distribution group, has no email address listed in the properties, and doesnt exist in the distribution group part of EMC. Its wierd. Ill check adsi edit for that group just now. -
we have an email address in our exchange that is receiving emails. I dont think it is a mailbox as it is delivering to multiplle recipients. It might be distribution group but I cannot see it in EMC. Running the following in EMS I cannot find it either: get-mailbox | select -expand emailaddresses alias or Get-DistributionGroup | select -expand emailaddresses alias What else can I do to locate this email address?

I have no idea where Berkshire is. I'll ask my Big Brother which was the exact store. Actually, Ill just send you over the CCTV footage of the checkout.

Why hello there mr dwhyte85. how are you today. I see you were shopping at the Sainsburys in Berkshire today. How were those steaks you bought? Did you enjoy them with the red or the white? Did the cake go well with it or are you saving that for your sisters engagment party which I heard on the phone is happening next weekend. Also, I see you drove to Wales last weekend. It was a strange route you took, you could have shaved 30 miles off the journey if you hadnt taken that detour to the Little Chef.

We are more than likely going to implement a BYOD program in the very near future, and so we are going to have to provide a VDI solution to allow the students to run our SOE on whatever device they bring. So far I have evaluated Citrix, and the VMWare options. These are both very nice solutions, and seem to fulfil our potential requirements. Obviously Microsoft using AppV and RDS is an option, especially with the licensing discounts we get in .edu. (But as I am finding with SCCM, the amount of Man-Hours it is costing in developing a solution from the ground up, it would have been almost just as cost effective to have purchased Dell KACE or Trivoli for the price I have paid my tech to work for 6 months on setting up our working SCCM solution) Has anyone used the Quest VWorkspace ? (recently purchased by Dell I believe) Is there any other provider I should be considering?

I have just found that when you set up the stream, instead of pressing the Play button, if you press the down arrow, it brings up the missing menu I have been looking for! And i only clicked it by accident.
-
yep thats the bit ive figured out. what do i do at the receiving end. What protocol does it stream? http? rtsp? What is the port? Where do I set all that?
-
I cant even find settings for 'stream file location' . I can only see how to open a stream not create one.

Im trying to stream my webcam on my laptop through the local network using VLC. Ive found a few HOW-To online but none of them pertain to the latest version and I cannot match any of the options or settings they talk about to the latest version. I can get my webcam displaying locally nicely in VLC but cannot for the life of me figure out how to then stream that. Anyone got any updated documentation please?

So basically I have to tell my staff and students that when they change their passowords every term that these will no longer be their cloud credentials and they need to remember whatever password they currently have? Having been using live@edu for 4 years now this seems like a step backwards? -

Hi @jamesbmarshall, We are being upgraded in just over 30 days and I am completely under prepared and overwhelmed with documentation. I have followed the links to the pages but have have ended up with a lever arch full of information and don't know where to begin. I use ILM and PCNS and I want to continue with autoprovisioning and sycned passwords (although I understand that the passwords are now not 'synced' they are just checked locally) Do I need an ADFS Server and a ADFS Proxy server? Can this be the same box? Do they both need a 3rd party cert? Can you point me to some precise documentation that is step-by-step please that I can pass on to a tech to just sit and follow through? Many thanks -
