We're a secondary and the students get the first 3 test in school (minimum 3 days apart), then are given home testing kits to do twice a week. Staff have been on home testing since half term.

Can I ask what model of desktop printer you are using?

We use FGPP and the AD "user must change..." and "password never expires" checkboxes still work as expected. If it does cause problems it's likely to be the "never ask to change"/"don't expire" setting in FGPP that conflicts with "user must change...", so you could increase the restrictions and expire everyone's passwords with "user must change" in AD, and once they're all changed then go back an set "never ask to change" in FGPP.

By the end of this month, none. By the end of the summer term, I'd be happy with 50-60% return, but we'll see (historically we've been quite good at getting stuff back).

Apparently we anticipated about 50% uptake for student LFTs. As of yesterday we were up to 75% uptake. Now there's frantic running around to create more testing capacity.

Afternoon all, We're looking at quotes for replacement of our printer fleet (lease contract is up for renewal). And one of the better looking quotes we have comes from Apogee. I'd not heard of them before so would be interested to hear from anyone who is (or has been) using them or has had dealings with them, as to what you make of the service? Might be a red herring, but our Adobe CC install always fails if a Microsoft Office application is opened. And I can second Sanchez, our full CC install takes about 45 minutes on a normal desktop.

Isn't there a training guide in the box? (I'm getting mine tomorrow apparently) I was kind of expecting a QR code or something that linked to the training video the testers had to watch.

Rather than having to install and keep zoom updated everywhere, we just installed it to a server share (and gave everyone a shortcut). Seems to work fine for the few zoom calls we still have.

No to both. Been working on site throughout. This is the first week we've started testing (there was a test run with a handful of staff last week).

Ours has been set up in the Sports hall, which should be big enough for something like that (and it's not forecast to rain here next week:D). I've been offered testing this week and next, but after that apparently we'll be expected to home test like this students.

You should be able to call supplier/support and ask. I wasn't DfE ones, but we managed to get iPads added to our MDM almost a year after purchasing.

We've got both installed across the site, users Google and 365 accounts are all synced up and both browsers are set to login and sync cloud profiles. Only real problem comes when people switch between browsers without realizing and complain all their favorites are gone. I tend to stick with chrome as my daily driver and use edge if I need to log into an alt account. Although mostly out of habit.

Going a different rout. Always have stardock fences, and at least one Mass Effect game installed.

We use Teams assignments and Frog, sometimes at the same time (teachers have taken to putting up Frog assignments saying "go to teams and do the assigned work"). Once this is all over we'll get back to trying to unify one way or the other but for now we're hybridizing Frog and 365 and it's working pretty well.

Hi Guys, I was looking at Portus desktop AIOs, they look good and seem reasonably priced for an AIO (which makes me wonder if they're cheeping out on the screens or something). So has anyone got or used one before and could tell me what they think of it? Thanks!

Based on what I've been told in the past... It's believed that sans serif fonts (Arial, Calibri) make for easier screen reading (for reasons stated by the Steve and mavhc), while serif fonts (Times New Roman, Garamond) are considered to be easier to read on printed media due to both increased letter differentiation and the improved "flow" across the page (although realistically, a lot of it probably has to do with the sort comings of the printing press). Clear and True Type fonts are a system of designing and rendering fonts made my Microsoft and Apple (respectively) to help keep on-screen fonts as clear as possible. For your purpose, I think you need to focus on "font paring" (https://www.canva.com/learn/the-ultimate-guide-to-font-pairing/). Technically you can mix serif, sans-serif and semis-serif fonts together as long as they visually fit (sticking within the same Font Family is a safe way to ensure this, but by no means the only option). If this is something that's been put together by "non-professionals" then it may be the formatting as much as the specific font. For example, the designer might be able to make it read better by tweaking the tracking or kerning. Best of luck and I hope this helps.

The bigger the better. For 4K ultra I'd go 3090. But seriously, if you want 4K and all the graphical bells and whistles in modern games then I wouldn't drop below the RXT3080/RX6800XT level (If you've got ray-tracing turned on the RTX preforms ever so slightly better). Although it's probably worth waiting to see what the 3070/80 ti models look like. And by then you might actually be able to by one of the cards .
