We put the first name in the first name field on AD, but change the display name to "S Smith", and the login name is something else entirely.

The Grammerly chrome plugin seems to have problems with the edugeek text entry interface for posting etc. When I click to accept a change from the Grammerly plugin on a forum post, it either doesn't make the change or puts the edited text where the cursor was last rather than where I'm clicking and doesn't remove the incorrect word. It does feel like it. We've got a holiday club in both summer and easter now, but they're an external company, so once they're on the wifi they don't ask for anything and are pretty easy-going when I roll into the library to tell them the "wifi's" going down again.

For us it's bits of the BMS. We recently had a problem with the data line to part of the system not sending its reports to company's external server. We've done it before. But only with the help of a Smart engineer, so I assume it's buried in some kind of admin menu Is there calibration option in the Genee software/drivers you can use?

We're only up to GCSE, but we've had the same thing come up and our solution is get a of tablets for classes where this is required. Although some departments are dragging their feet on getting the kit as I assume their plan to wait for the head to cave and allow phones in their lessons. If we were going to allow phones in some lessons, the phone based lessons would get portable unlocking stations. But exceptions like that are generally considered a bad idea, as "phone free school" meaning "no phones out of pouches on school site" is easy to get and enforce and deal with, once you start making exceptions and watering it down, it gets harder to enforce and easier for the kids to subvert (give them an inch they'll take a mile).

If you're office 365 then CoPilot can be used to query against documents in your tenancy, and as a school you should get the corporate CoPilot data protection agreement. (I'd have thought gemini would have similar features if your a google school, but haven't checked)

Have you tried Reports>MCAS>Accounts Activity Report? For us, it mostly just shows logins from parent accounts, but it does show the linked student.

OG Black Flag was one of my first proper couch gaming experiences. Very much enjoying the remake so far.

Because the way they know how to do take a club register on Bromcom is, go to Groups, filter for clubs and trips, find their club and then go to actions>attendance. Apparently the original plan was to timetable all the clubs so the teachers would be able to register it the same as a teaching class.

We've been asked to look into a tech-based solution for registering clubs. They don't want to do it on Bromcom as it's too much of a faff. Ideally it would be an addative system where kids sign in /or are signed in as present, rather than checking names off against a generated list of the 100 kids who signed up, only about 15 of which still actually show up on the regular. In the first instance it just needs to function like a fire evac list, but they also want to be able to report against it to find out what club attendance looks like over time. Before I go reinventing the wheel, does anyone have anything good they're using for this? Thanks!

We have user specific exam and controlled assessment accounts are that locked when not in use. Although we don't use Teams for exams (I don't see what you need it for), I'd have thought the principle would work the same.

Yeah, dissapointingly SKG lost it's vote in Europe by a couple of %. But, what with day1 patches, online requirements and not all game content on the disk these days, having a physical disk doesn't guarantee access to the game anymore anyway.

If they really wanted to stop 3rd party drives they could just make sure there's no driver support (on the PS6 anyway)

I suppose if Sony stop putting disk drives in their systems then it will make 3rd parties making disks pretty pointless. They're not necessarily missing out on the steelbook market. Isn't the GTA6 physical edition just a code in a box?

Reading Wings of Night at the moment. So far it seems like a discount Fourth Wing. Been on-again-off-again reading the Mob at TAC books, which can be pretty good fun.
