Morning, I have a very strange problem which is driving me mad! On of our deputy heads has a HP ENVY Notebook 13-ab0XX and randomly the webcam seems to disconnect from the computer, even though it is built in! I have gone through and updated all drivers, run through the HP Support Assistant and made sure everything there was updated. Lierally everything I could think of. There is no pattern to this problem and it will just randomly start working again. When it is not working though I cannot even see it in Device Manager. Any ideas on this one would be great! Thanks!

No we don't have paxton. We are using Axis door controllers.
-
So we have Mifare cards which are scanned into the cashless catering system and then have a powershell script which pulls that info, and uploads it into our door entry system and AD and then PaperCut syncs from AD so that the cards can also be used for print release.
-
Afternoon I am looking for some software that can generate ID badges from a users AD account and then take a picture and then print the badge. Does anyone know of a solution that could work? Cheers

I've had 3CX implemented for nearly a year now and its brilliant. Really easy to setup and managed and theres great online resources. They even have an online virtual academy so that you can get 3CX certifications for free. By far the easiest phone system I have ever had to manage.

It would appear that I was just being impatient. Thank you for your help! Much appreciated!

Thanks, I have now resolved the issues in pkiview and that is now showing as everything is OK but I still have the same issue when trying to connect to the VPN. Do I need to give it any time at all?
-
So in there I can see that DeltaCRL Location #1 and Location #2 have expired. and location 1 is seemingly pointing to the old CA server. How can I resolve that and would that impact the VPN connection? Thanks,

Afternoon, Last week I had some servers fail and had to migrate the CA over to a new server. This was fine and has been working fine. I had to reconfigure the Intune NDES connector to point to this new server but once this was done new certs were being issued to devices through Intune and the VPN (profile deployed through Intune) was working fine. This morning though all VPN connections are giving the error: "The connection was prevented because of a policy configured on your RAS/VPN server. Specifically, the authentication method used by the server to verify username and password may not match the authentication method configured in your connection profile." It is currently setup to use a user cert on the laptops to authenticate the users, RADIUS is doing the authentication on the RAS server and the NPS policies have not changed nor has the VPN profile. I have gone through everything I can think of and am still getting the same issue. Has anyone got any ideas? Cheers

Good Morning, I am just wondering if anyone has any ideas. A couple of users are having issues with an always on VPN connection. The connection is pushed out through Intune and has been working fine. Recently though they have been having a random issue where the VPN will be disconnected and they will not be able to connect again. This is the error that they get. "The network connection between your computer and the VPN server could not be established because the remote server is not responding. This could be because one of the network devices (e.g firewalls, NAT, routers etc) between your computer and the remote server is not configured to allow VPN connections. Please contact your Administrator or your service provider to determine which device may be causing the problem." I don't see how this is a network problem though as many other connections are working fine and have the same setup and the connection works for these end users intermittently. Does anyone have any ideas? Cheers

Hoping someone can help, been going around in circles. I have a DPM server running backups and mostly all are running fine. I have setup some new Windows 2019 servers and added them to a protection group. Since adding them they have not been able to back up and are constantly giving Inconsistent Replica issues. I have tried running multiple consistency checks but still nothing. The monitoring error is Affected area: RCT\2019 ServerOccurred since: 24/04/2020 10:05:25Description: The replica of Microsoft Hyper-V RCT\2019 Server on 2019 Server.CL-HV.fqdn is inconsistent with the protected data source. All protection activities for data source will fail until the replica is synchronized with consistency check. You can recover data from existing recovery points, but new recovery points cannot be created until the replica is consistent. For SharePoint farm, recovery points will continue getting created with the databases that are consistent. To backup inconsistent databases, run a consistency check on the farm. I'm currently investigating an issue with audio quality on a 3CX system. Randomly throughout a call we seem to lose the audio from the external caller. Our SIP trunk provider has looked at captures their end and indicated the issue is from our end. I have run some wireshark traces on the 3CX server on site but cannot see anything obvious. Can anyone point me in the right direction of what to look at? Cheers

Yeah, I'm looking at it more. The network manager before me moved all the staff laptops over to Azure AD and they are generally alright, few little bits to sort out. I just want to try and move everything over now so I only have to manage the computers in one place. At the minute he hybrid joined the IT suites so they are applying both GPOs and Intune policies. The only annoying part with the Powershell scripts I've found is that they only ever apply to the machines once but do not re run. So for a login script you would need a script to create a scheduled task to run at login, which is a bit of a pain. Also I have not managed to get the Edition Upgrade policy to work for activating Windows.

Afternoon, Just wondering if anyone has managed to get student machines joined to Azure AD and managed through Intune. If you have, how have have you managed to deploy them and how restricted are they computers? Thanks,
-
So I have found the problem, it turns out that Azure AD web app proxy serves its own robots.txt which disallows all crawling and this is something that cannot be changed.
-
So I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction. We have our website hosted internally - WordPress website hosted on IIS. This is published through Azure Web App Proxy to the outside world with a DNS CNAME record in IONOS where our domain name is registered. I have added a robots.txt file in the root of the website to allow Google to index the site and improve the look of the Google search results. This however is not working and I just get a default robots.txt which disallows all user agents from crawling the website. Currently I do not know where it is picking up this robots.txt with the disallow rule. Any pointers would be appreciated. Thanks

Loaning IT Equipment System
lmrogers replied to SoyCanalla's topic in Network and Classroom Management
Snipe IT allows for full asset management and checking in and out assets. You can also get them to digital sign and agreement. -
Morning, Have a look at Snipe-IT. That is a full asset management system which can track consumables like toner as well. https://snipeitapp.com/ I use it and it works well for most things.

I have got a strange problem. We have a BYOD wireless network setup with its own DNS zone of byod.internal rather than school.internal. We also have another dns zone of school.internal and school.org as we host our own school website. There was an issue with the NPS server so I built a new one and got it back up and running. The old NPS server also ran the DNS server for the BYOD network. I have moved the DNS zone over to one of our other DNS servers and ensured all records were moved as well. However, since this users on the BYOD network have not been able to access the school website which is in the DNS zone school.org. I cannot see any differences in the DNS zones from the old to new DNS server, all records were moved. I'm just at a bit of a loss. If I startup the old server and point DNS back to that then the school websites (hosted internally) work but pointed elsewhere the internet works apart from the internally hosted websites. Has anyone got any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

Have you had any luck with getting this working?

I'm sure I selected new client on both and then just hit OK. I then ran those commands in SharePointOnline Powershell Module and the link started appearing when hitting the sync button. Have you managed to successfully run those commands?
-
So on the SharePoint Admin page that you screenshotted there, also under Sync Client for Sharepoint, make sure you select "Start the new Client". With the SharePoint Online Powershell module, run the following commands in order. Connect-SPOService This will ask for the URL of the SharePoint admin center. It should be https://DOMAIN-admin.sharepoint.com Set-SPOTenantSyncClientRestriction -GrooveBlockOption "HardOptIn" Set-SPOTenantSyncClientRestriction -GrooveBlockOption "SoftOptIn"
-
To get the Copy Library ID link to appear I had to set these to options in the SharePoint Online Management Shell Set-SPOTenantSyncClientRestriction -GrooveBlockOption "HardOptIn" and Set-SPOTenantSyncClientRestriction -GrooveBlockOption "SoftOptIn" Also from the SharePoint Admin settings page make sure OneDrive for Business Experience is set yo "New experience"
-
In the powershell script don't put the spaces in the sitename variable so just have it as testshareddrive and see what you get.
-
That error is saying that it cannot find the Teams/SharePoint site that the script is referencing.
